Thank you I think most RC channels don’t even touch on buying used RC’s let alone refurbishing them I think it’s awesome. Going to the RC swapmeet & getting RC’s to refurbished could be a full time channel alone. It’s nice to see though some can’t afford new RC’s so this is great content. Definitely more of this would be good.

Hey Mark if you want to take your bearing cleaning to the next level use brake cleaner in an ultrasonic. I put the bearings in a pill bottle with the cleaner for 2 minutes and then a quick spray cleans them better than new. Grease for outdoor and oil for for indoors. AVID products all the way.

These videos are so needed. Was contemplating finally getting mine done I got the rebuild kit a while ago. First time rebuilding xmaxx shocks for me.
Mark ... I would like to see you use ear protection when using loud devices like your blower and vacuums.
I have a box of concert style (foam in ear) ear plugs that I use when I'm doing something very prolonged like vacuuming the garage and hobby desk (or car) after doing RC repairs. But if it's just a quick blast or so I have a pair of over the head (they look like music earphones) that I can put on quickly. The drawback to the over the head ones is that for long usage your face sweats and that just kinda sucks ... hence the in ear one for long loud sessions.

The shock doesn't bind, but you KILLED the tolerance they set at the factory... You're better at this than I am, but seems like a bad idea....

In the plumbing world there’s a specific tool to remove o rings I’m wondering if it would be better then a sharp exacto knife.
I bought a 6s xmaxx and converted it to a 8s. Should have probably bought a 8s to begin with would have cost less but it was fun putting together. Put a 800kv motor and a max5 esc it moves.
Mark , I bought another XMaxx just to keep around cause I think it's one of the greatest RC as far as RC's go. I'm just concerned if it's ok to keep sitting in the box with the zap straps holding the suspension down?

When you press down on the shock, is some oil supposed to come out and lightly coat the strut/rod?

How come you didn't use break cleaner for the ball bearings ?
I switched to Royal Purple Ultra Performance grease for basher axle bearings. It keeps the dust out and they stay lubricated much longer than an oil.
I do the same much better.
On these rebuilds do you guys replace the plastic stuff that’s scratched up a lot.

I know this isn’t pertaining to the current subject matter, but have you had any experience with the pinion gear on an E Revo? I can’t seem to be able to tighten it properly so that it won’t come loose. I’m using the blue lock tite and it still doesn’t work.

Try SC1 new dirt bike in a van. It’s amazing stuff and smells really good
