14:30 You're comments on math being hard and having many books helps are so true! I recently worked my way through understanding Borel Sigma-fields and Borel Sets and I would have never made it with just one book even if it was an excellent rigorous book like the one by Rohatgi 1976
Mr. Sorcerer; My wife purchased one of the older calculus books you had for sale and it arrived here in Midland Michigan today. I could not have been more surprised and delighted…especially with the wonderful inscription included! I have recently started studying math (Algebra and Calculus) after a 37 year break. Your channel was a big part of what inspired me to do so….thanks for all the great and inspiring content you post. A couple side notes…the book you sent up was originally used by a student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in the 1950’s and now here it is back in Michigan only an hour North of Ann Arbor some 70 years later! Also, I attended Fredonia State University in Western New York in the late 1980’s and one of the professors there was Dr. Albert Polimeni who was a co-author of a book on proof writing you mentioned in one of your videos entitled “This will make you math strong”….small world. Thanks again for the book, kind words, and your channel! Tim Strom
The author of the topology book was my Differential Equations professor eons ago. I thought the name was familiar, then the jacket confirmed it.
Oh wow so cool!!!
Love your channel, I’m doing math as my second major (Im taking it as a hobby), you motivated me to go back to university and study math! Thank you
yeah i think its 70 years after the authors death, but also the internet archive has thousands of math books for free
I've used the Topology book you showed in 11:18 while expanding my notes on functions! It's a good book and hard to find online back when i last checked. The copy I used I checked out at the library
I think showing these mathematics books like you do is a wonderful thing.
It’5:00 AM here now and, by chance, I am doing the same…
The camera composition is good. ^^
You should make a video on your rarest books:)
Absolutely
MIR publisher is legendary here in Peru, among the hardest math books to go through. By the way, thank you Math Sorcerer, I've been reading the "Book of Proof" by Richard Hammack and I've been learning quite a lot. I'm on chapter 8 right now.
I'm curious - what brand of protein shake powder do you use?
I need to know what’s in that protein shake! 😊
Hoarding books does not mean that you know them all …..
How do you buy books and inventory them so you don't accidently pickup the same book twice? I have over a hundred books maybe 180 and 30 of them I know well but the others I couldn't list any of the authors without checking.
“FORTRAN!”
Saff & Snider or Asmar & Grafakos? And why? (For complex analysis)
Magic the gathering mentioned!
Can you make an hour long video about your life? I am interested in watching the whole video and learning lessons. If you accept my request, then I’ll make a list and study almost all the life lessons or just important pieces of information which you talk about 😊
Is this a math channel disguised as a self help channel
The other way around
What math do I need to understand to understand tensors? Differential geometry?
Linear Algebra
@ I mean tensors in Physics- like the stress tensor - not multidimensional vectors like PyTorch and AI
Most linear algebra textbooks will have a section on tensors. You may also read the relevant chapter in griffiths electrodynamics for a more physics perspective
do you know of any books specifically dedicated to integrals? any level, any topic, I love integrals and I'd love to have an integral book
I also have the higher mathematics part 3(never seen pt 1 and 2 of the series they are super duper rare)by efimov and the questions are very challenging in comparison to problems in standard western texts.
Hello!
Hi babe
