This is a really good video. Just today a friend was asking the question of introductions and how we would manage them. I have directed her to this video.
Recently found your channel. Such great stuff and will help so many people! Would have loved your channel when we were adopting first time round. Just watching this video now. We genuinely waited 2 weeks! Child under 1, definitely wouldn't have coped too well.
Aimee can you do some videos on possible behaviours to expect when baby is home like attachment disorder etc please? I’m currently reading a book about it but finding it a bit of a tough read as it is very technically worded?
I am a birth mother and these videos really help me know and realise although i suffered a huge loss my two boys are safe and loved in their home with their mum and dad. I am also an adopted child and i grew up in the care system after being adopted and before i was adopted so i have insight in both aspects of adoption foster care and being adopted myself.
@@Aimeevlog Its okay..I'm not ashamed of my past and that my beautiful boys no longer have me as their mother. Im grateful that they are safe and loved and i completely agree that it was the right decision by the courts for them to be placed for adoption. The only sad side is that their parents refused letter box contact after i had another child and 3 more after her who all reside with me.
Jodie Brookes it’s wonderful to meet you. It’s wonderful that you’re open to share & educate others. No contact is incredibly sad! Adopters sign a letterbox agreement but there is not enough weight & responsibility put on this. Open adoptions (whether that’s just yearly letterbox or another kind of open adoption) are important in a lot of circumstances & research supports that. I’ll pray that at some point they can come to peace with your life continuing & that they choose to open those lines of communication again 💚
@@Aimeevlog I can understand why they would go down that route of no contact especially when I had my 3rd child I assume they thought it would end up in an adoption again so they may well be questioning the reasons as to why my boys ended up with them and if it was that bad then why have I kept my four other children...there is so many questions that they must have and although I have suffered hugely in away so have they and the fear that they have that one day their child may go off and find me and start a reconnection must be terrifying so I get it especially watching my adopted mother struggle hugely whenever she had a letter or pictures. Adoption isn't just about the baby the birth family or even the adopted one its about everyone and everything. The main thing that I get irritated by is 1. I lost my two boys I don't deserve to be a mother and the rest of my children should of been removed and 2. When people say that the child was removed for no reason. There is always a reason and always 2 sides to every story. Its nice to meet you too.
Hi Louise, I made a video about how we supported our eldest when our youngest moved in. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/Bz7yI9BeeL8/видео.html
All adoption starts with loss. And this loss is ongoing for life. Adoption is a life sentence for adoptees. And adoptees never feel safe. You make incorrect assumptions about how birth parents holding a baby. I didn't let anyone hold my babies. You make too many assumptions and need to gain insights into both adoptee life and , as for grandparents changing nappies and feeding babies . Really ? This is not true . Absolutely not. You need educating, by both parents, real ones , and adult adoptees. Remember. All adoption is loss. Fir life

Are you able to access support as an adult adoptee
Have you watched 15000 kids and counting? That’s got some really good adoption info x
Davina Challis I haven’t, is this on RUclips? Thanks for the tip!
Aimee vlog yes it’s on RUclips! There’s 4 or 5 episodes I think!
good video really helpful. Expected it to be about how you introduced new baby to first child? will you do one about this please?
