    Loving my 2021 250X! Best bike I’ve owned to date!

  • @whitetrashgarage8110
    @whitetrashgarage8110 3 года назад +6

    I never could mesh with the engine on my 250x. It would lug fine but as soon as the rear spun, rpm would shoot up and in to the power band, made it tough to be smooth.
    Removed a shim from the governor and did the apex xc head and oh man the difference.
    It lugs much better, the power band is there but it's a much more gradual hit, starts lower in the rpm range and so much smoother.
    I normally suggest getting suspension sorted first, but I would say with this bike, the head and governor mod are #1.

    My 250X is by far the best bike I have ever owned. Did the apex head with xcinsert. V force reeds, billetron carb, Hinson clutch, gnarly pipe and FMF turbinecore 2 some body mods and it's just unbelievable. I toast my friend on both his big bore KTM 360 sx and his 250 sx.

    I’m glad you mentioned this bike is capable of racing GNCC and motocross. I don’t race but I want a bike that is fully capable of taking everything I can throw at it. People say get the YZ250 over the YZ250X because the X has less power and is not good for racing hurting resale value. I just want a woods rocket at a good price and reliable!!

    If you watched this video and are still on the fence unsure about a YZ250, look at Pol Tarres on a YZ250.
    I will 100% admit you can get a better bike with KTM, Husqvarna, Gas Gas, Beta, Fantic, Rieju, and some others.
    The Euro bikes come with electric start and often fuel injection. They have woods bikes with proper suspension. They have lights if you get stuck out at night or you enjoy night riding. They just do many things better on the trail.
    But, YZ250s are plentiful and fairly cheap in comparison. The money you save can be tossed at a cylinder head, flywheel weight, some jets, and whole lots of gas and tires.
    Yes, there’s better bikes. But the YZ is hard to replace. They’re fun and playful and a bit scary. They make it a challenge. Don’t hesitate to get one for trails. Just know I’m stock form they aren’t gonna be the most enjoyable on trails.

    Hey, I'm looking for a 2 strokes enduro bike and I wonder if the YZ250X would be a good choice. I'm also looking at KTM, GasGas and Sherco but they are easily 4k $ more expensive. They sure have more (speedometer, front/back lights, injection for KTM/Gasgas, etc), but I wonder if it's worth the 4k$ if the yam works well in the trails. I want simple mechanic and a lot of FUN in the trails. 😁

      @@chadrides914 I like the hold up of a motocross suspension. The kyb forks are great but they would pack in technical at speed. @@PBmxer that makes a lot of sense to me. My suspension is setup softer for slow speed hard enduro type riding, I’ll run the hs clickers way in to stiffen it up during higher speed races but I agree, it feels scary at speed on track chop and ruts. Mx suspension works real well in woods at high speed.
