Camping many many times here used to be called Newberry farm ...Tom and Vera Greenaway And friends of ours owned the Silver mines cafe back in the 80s 👍👍😎
Nice place? ;"locals are great"? Used to be. It's also expensive now. Used to live in Combe Martin - family comes from there - but happily left a couple of years ago to get some peace. Still visiting occasionally on contracts. It's a decent holiday resort with nice scenery and when people can be bothered there's plenty of walking to do.
Sure you're not just trying to keep it to yourselves? Like so many Devon and Cornish places, locals like the money that emmets bring in but don't actually want the visitors themselves!
@@lindabaldwin7095 Give it a miss. The locals get a few weeks' peace in winter, and lately during lockdowns. Otherwise they're mostly crowded out and priced out, of their own town.
@@elliottg.1954 I know someone from my childhood that lives in the high street, not spoken to them in many many years, looks like I won't be any time soon 😂, thanks for the advice, I won't be going now.
@@lindabaldwin7095 @linda baldwin Oh, Combe Martin High Street? You mean dog alley 😊 More dogs than people. We don't miss the 2 a.m. weekend holiday drunks, or the traffic.
Used to have a vibrant hippie scene in the mid eighties. Good times.
Beautiful place....Beautiful memories for me and my wife
Haven't been since '93, when we stayed in Berrynarbor.

Beauty
They have a great pub called the pack of cards
Would love to go there, it looks so surreal and peaceful, I hear the locals are great too
Sorry to disappoint but that's not what Combe Martin is like at all.
@@elliottg.1954 thanks for the heads up, coming from a once 'local' it means a lot, I'll give it a miss 👍
