My friends parents took him and me to Coombe Martin on holiday around that time at the caravan park. Had chicken in the basket for the first time and thought it was amazing.
Ilfracombe looks vey tired these days.

How the British seaside has deteriorated. Ilfracombe had bowling, sailing, the Pavilion, entertainments and coach trips. Nowadays, even before Covid there was not much to do in Ilfracombe besides Wetherspoons or go for a walk. Even the water is unfit for bathing. No wonder people go abroad.

Look at what Ilfracombe used to have for seaside holidays. A lot of what you are seeing here has gone and it doesn't even measure up to Skegness nowadays.

We used to go here in the late 60s early 70s - reckon if I look hard enough I can see me. Thank you

Did they have two bowls clubs or greens in Ilfracombe? One on the front and Ilfracombe bowls club on Highfield road???
