It would be cool to see evidence of this being the case. In my own personal experience if I play support Ivy I get 40K healing and relatively low deaths and lose the majority of matches I play (usually 2 out of 3 games weird enough). But when I play gun Ivy I usually get over 10 kills with low deaths and win the majority of my matches. I would argue this is mostly due to players not understanding objectives as when I play gun Ivy, I more often than not end up getting two walkers by myself on top of typically winning lane. I even had a match where my teammates apologized for not playing better around my healing when I played support.
I did a binomial analysis because I had the same feeling after the latest matchmaking changes. With 94% certainty, I get worse players overall on my team compared to the enemy team. That 94% remains unchanged regardless of how many matches I play, which tells me it is baked into the matchmaking system.
its actually wild how unhinged excuses you people can come up with to cope with losing. there is no way you actually think valve is targeting you specifically. that is some schizo stuff
@@evenrb yeah? post your numbers and ill double check them for you. also how do you define bad teammates? how do i know you arent yourself the problem and just coming up with excuses? youre being ridiculous
also what the hell is "certainty" in statistical context? did you mean p-values? if so you do know that 0.94 is actually very very unindicative of your alternative hypothesis being true
I think the biggest issue is actually the playerbase. It is too small, for EU is around 17k players in 11 ranks. Since all ranking systems have normal distribution it is too small for edge, lowest and highest ranks, to actually match with their ranks. The only one that should have good matching are emissary and archon. But since the other ones can't match correctly and are cross matched the higher ranks might match with archon side and lower with emissary which again throws of balance for all. Extra to that, Valve is probably trying to test some new ranking stuff before game actually leaves alpha, which is good. They might reinvent a better match making system, would not be surprised because it is not their first game with ranking (CS, Dota). Both CS:GO and Dota 2 went through similar growing pains with their ranking systems. As the playerbase grows this should improve, the matchmaking, but for some time it will be a bit worse. I am quite low rank since i started recently and the problem is that there seems to be a lot of "new" and low ranked accounts that stomp in the low ranks to I guess quickly go to high ranks with good ratios, and that is much bigger problem. I have been in games where some people have on average 2k dmg to players while others have 30k.
inoticed this as a bebop player. People in my team feeding super early ( 0-8 ) at the 9 minute mark. then when laning phase ends I'm super under powered as bebop because all friendly lanes lost and fed enemy team. Then hard carries like wraith and infernus blaming me late game for not having a better K/D/A even though my lane was like 1/1/0 ... it's like this almost every game now since about 2 weeks ago if I play Bebop only.
@@launchpadmcquack98 yeah that's the obvious answer is try to catch up on souls to make up for it. But not so fun when your team is like HEY FIGHT WITH US NOW. and I'm like.. no... I'm underfarmed. you guys fight and lost too much. stop committing to full on fights so often... My rank currently is only archon 2. a lot of morons want to still constantly face roll team fights even when they're behind.
@@_Beezul You just have to ignore them. The only time you should be fighting when you're behind is if the enemy is taking a walker, they're in your base, or they're delivering urn. Otherwise, try to avoid fights and farm as much as possible. There have been so many games where my team is behind, fighting 5v5 in the middle of the map for no reason the whole game, and I have to farm until I'm 10k+ ahead of everyone and carry.
I know you said reddit but I genuinly can't find anything regarding your matchmaking begin affected by playing specifcally a support hero? Each hero in general sure but support heroes? no
They recently changed the matchmaker again so this is not the case anymore but it used to work like this and a lot of people on reddit has been complaining about it as far as I've seen, but thank god the matchmaker is different now even though we have some new problems that came with it lol

Valve does it on purpose on all of their games, its designed to make it way slower and harder for you to rank up
