It was a slightly modified version of an all-white Detroit Red Wings mask from around 1978-80. They enlarged the mold just a bit, added a few more holes & painted the red arrows on it for the film.
Great collection. One design that's missing is the 'Lefty Wilson' mask worn by a lot of Detroit area goalies, such as the Wings' Roy Edwards, in the early 70s.
I think these are replicas. I still have my mask that I wore in high school and college. It was made by Ernie Higgins in 1976. Cheevers and many others wore this style mask.
Disperse energy throughout the entire mask when a puck hits it, rather than that specific portion of the mask where the puck impacts (& the bones of the face directly underneath that part.)
Doug Favell and Tony Esposito's are the best masks ive ever seen
2:13 BEST ONE

I used to make my own masks, and when my team mates used to throw out the padding from their helmets I would use them for my masks.
That Cleveland Barons one is bad ass. Definitely ahead of it's time as far as painting the mask
and where is the famous Jason's mask? can't find a single picture showing a goalkeeper wearing it

BERNIE PARENT FIBERGLASS NHL HOCKEY FLYERS GOALIE MASK
The Parent mask (created by Jacques Plante) was made by Fibrosport, Quebec

For the goalie to see?
@KoneHead8 Haha yeah dude.you get a puck in the eye you're career could very well be done. Doesn't make sense to have such big holes.
@mansonfollower15 I think someone would get killed if they wore masks like that.
Why do hockey masks have holes?
Disperse energy throughout the entire mask when a puck hits it, rather than that specific portion of the mask where the puck impacts (& the bones of the face directly underneath that part.)
what is the song?

The Chase
A lot of these appear to be copies, and not very good copies either.
