I bought this for $45 and I’m very happy with it, but I also bought an Arcade Legends 3 cabinet for $3390, which I’m also very happy with. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. This is worth $45 just for Dig Dug and Galaga, neither included on the AL3.
I got mine for $35 at Dollar General during a sale.
I have to admit I'm watching this video after I bought it. I got it on an impulse buy and really wanted to play Street Fighter and Ghouls & Ghosts. And if I didn't like it, I could always give it to my sister's kids.
I'll post a video soon to show you how I added game roms .
Firmware update fixes emulation issues. Personally, I think it's worth the hassle considering you get a decent arcade box and Sega Genesis clone at a very low price point.
Are the controllers retro-bit? They seem very fragile, I'm wondering how they hold up with repeated use.
Not very good, the controllers are weak as heck especially when using on a genesis.
@@rivalx7137 The dpad feels like it could snap at any moment.
They're sensitive enough where you don't need to apply much pressure, so that helps, but in the heat of the moment sometimes you just can't help yourself.
Guess I can't complain over 20 bucks though. I'll enjoy it while it lasts, and if it breaks, it breaks.

I had trouble with the game Mappy on this thing. I used a different controller than the one that came with it and it worked fine. Maybe I got a bad controller.
The stuttering music on this thing is horrible! Gets an instant pass from me for that reason. Interesting that they chose to include the Famicom version of Tetris. Might be a first official western release of that particular Tetris game (I'm not sure). Being the first console release of the game it consequently has more in common with the earlier computer versions (no soft drop, only the instant hard drop and block rotation in one direction only). It takes some getting used to but it's still fun and worth a go if you love Tetris.
Interesting yeah I'm very used to having the soft drop features so I'm spoiled with that was not digging the instant drop lol
@@8-Bit_Flashback I added over 100 Sega Genesis games to mine including a couple of rom hacks. And I actually like the little system for playing certain games. It plays Sonic and most of the Genesis games great except a few have sound issues like a crackling in the background.
I got one recently and added 920 more games I'm not downing it but you get what you pay for , on a good note I have alot more games then just what it came with.
How are you able to add games to the legends flashback? Or maybe I miss understood lol
The only reason to buy an AtGames console at this point is to review it on RUclips. That's it. Review it, tell everyone it's bad, and move on.
@Soldier4Life_PR 🇵🇷 You can play however you like, but their emulation of the Genesis is some of the worst in the industry. I'd buy a Pi and a USB controller...it is a far better experience. FYI, I play on real hardware, so I may be biased.
@Soldier4Life_PR 🇵🇷 Yeah, the Genesis Mini was actually a good representation of what the Genesis is all about. I have the model 1 Mini and I picked up the model 2 Mini. I think you can get one on Amazon, shipped from Japan for $130. Not sure if it's worth that, but it's an option.

There is a firmware update that will let you add games, but so far only Genesis games work, and the sound quality is terrible.

Interesting but it just doesn't seem to be worth hacking in my opinion. If it was solid to start with I would be all over it.

This is the same as the Genesis Flashback 2018,it has the same hardware inside it.The Mega Drive version can't run PAL games, the sound is 1 second in front of the video.Its like ATGames don't know what PAL and NTSC was, So you can only play Sega CD(NTSC) not Mega CD(PAL) games on it. hahaha it thinks its a 60hz machine.
I tested a UK version of Alien Soldier, and it seemed alright. The 60hz NTSC hack you can download off the Steamworks store also runs and plays well.
If there's issues, I either can't see it, or they ironed them out.

Actually lag in street fighter is pretty minimal if any , I can pull of combos pretty easily. The one suffering from lag and horrible graphics is bad dudes but it’s still playable , you just have to adjust to the lag. Sly spy played pretty responsive imo.
Might as well buy the NES CLassic Edition and put arcade and nes roms on it.No lag or problems with the emulation.
@@Charmander009 Yeah I understand.Im not much into modding myself but always try to get the better option.The Super Retrocade from Retrobit is a nice option too.If u can get someone to add roms on it you can play extra arcade games.I really enjoy playing retro and arcade related stuff.
@@Charmander009 I have collected some of these emulation systems but I mainly play original hardware.Ive been collecting since 2000 and have over 25 systems from retro to current gen.Its good to have options because sometimes u just don't want to pull a game or system out.
No I have a Retrotink2x and OSSC to line double my retro stuff on hdtv.I also still have 4 CRTs to use with light gun games and sometimes use scart to component to play my systems that are RGB ready.
It would need to be modded with other PS1 games.The games selected for the PS Classic does not really represent that era of gaming.Over 7,000 games were made on the PS1 so there is no excuse for Sony not to have put better games on it.

Best thing about this system is loading up an sd card with Sega Genesis roms, such as from the Steam Sega Genesis and Megadrive collection on Steam.
They run really well, with the latest firmware update. Nearly Kega Fusion level, in my experience with Alien Soldier, Streets of Rage 2/Bare Knuckle 3, and Gunstar Heroes.
Pick up an SD card on clearance, it's pretty much mandatory to get the most out of this system.
Don't bother with hacks, just get the official firmware. I hear a few programmers lobbied Atgames for an official update that fixes their Sega Genesis emulation, and Atgames complied.

@@vektorman1938 Better then the arcade games. It uses Genesis GX Plus, the same core as in Retroarch. Controls very well, supports rewinding.
Unfortunately my SD card is defective, the roms randomly started corrupting. Couldn't even reformat it, it's totally shot.

I will admit I have the 100 games model and it does run the games alot more smoothly than the 50 games version some Walmarts already have the 100 games version marked down for $25 and straight out of the box it will read and play all Nes, Snes and Genesis ROMs from the SD card if you can find it for $25 it's definitely worth it

I do think that lag is partially caused by that rewind feature i actually wanted to talk about that in the video but I forgot to. But then again Super Street Fighter 2 doesn't even have that feature and it still has issues. With Bad Dudes it just feels out of sync doesn't feel right when you're playing

Arthouse Anime there is no lag or very minimal lag in street fighter . I just made a video showing some basic combos easily pulled off . I feel bad dudes is the only game here that lags bad
