Matt, thank you for posting this. My personal copies of the VHS tapes from '86 onwards are either damaged or missing. My memories of this era have mostly faded, so it's pretty amazing to see myself and my fellow competitors back in the day. Again -- greatly appreciate you. 🤗 Scott Elliott
Oh, how cool is this? Thanks Scott! "Back in the day" indeed. Hard to believe this much time has got behind us. Hmmm, now the lyrics to a Pink Floyd song come to mind. However, we knew when to run and we didn't miss the starting gun... At any rate, I admit some hesitation to posting these as it seemed oddly self serving. But now that they are up I have been most pleased by the number of people I run into who have said they have enjoyed some time travel as well. Take care and thanks for pushing me to run faster... Matt
Thanks! The VHS tapes were sitting under my stairs for decades. In 2020 I digitized them as a COVID project and finally got around to posting them earlier this year.
These videos are phenomenal. It is really interesting to see how the fashion, gear, lingo etc have changed but the mountain, and the running that we do on it has not changed at all. Thank you for uploading this footage!

@@apeakrunner Mountain runners are going to enjoy stumbling across these. The legend of Matt Carpenter lives on through RUclips 😃
