Unless you've up the rev limiter a ton or swapped gears some how there's no way. These bikes pull 2700rpm at 60mph. The rev limiter kicks in at 5700rpm. The fastest you could possibly go with stock limiter and gears is 130ish
I noticed you have it governed...good thing, cause man that bike will fly. I dunno how fast I ever had mine and I certainly never topped it out but I gave a lesson to several crotch rockets and a few old harley guys a few times.
I took mine to 130 mph and goosed it and it still had lots of torch. That was with full dress. The reason I stopped at 130 is because the windshield was bending back. By the way, I was sitting staight up when I did this and I'm 6'4"

My 05' 1800 goes 140+ mph but since I took the small wind deflector off I lost about 10 mph off the top speed. Lock your legs onto the tank and dip your torso down a bit 👍🏽
I heard the are fast, that didn't impress me at all. I have a 1300c w/Cobra pipes & a carb mod and it wld smoke that, it hits 125 easy and maybe lil more.
137 on my 07 vtx 1300 c. Cobra drag pipes kurry air filter, hotter plugs and stage 1 jet kit. Rejet and baffles would give me higher top speed. My friend bought it and added the hypercharger. Its way more responsive now . Its hard to believe my 1300 is faster than an 1800
I see this was a long time ago and maybe you have figured it out by now... You can get up past 124 a lot faster if you wait to shift right before the rev limiter. I think shift to 5th around 118mph
I got my 2003 1800C up to 120 before coming to a 4 way stop in NC. It was still gaining speed with I let off. It’s still stock too. The only aftermarket parts are headlight and taillight. One of the best production cruisers ever.
No way , I did 145 with stock airfolter an samson pipes. No power commander and fairing. After I put batwing on,now locks at 135 lol just because of the batwing wind drag

Morte Parla there’s a bunch of reasons for this but one of the big ones is that the faster you go the harder nature tries to slow you down. For example the new Veyron SS got 250 horsepower bump to go 3 miles an hour faster, because at 250 that’s what it takes to get to 253. Other thing is this is a significantly heavier bike and their gearing is different, smaller bikes like the shadow often have a couple longer gears later to make them less annoying to listen to on the highway
Had my 02 vtx1800r speedo pegged out but lots of up grades on that bike 3” cobra long shots cobra fi2000 pro Harper charger stage3 jet kit that bike would fly for a 700+ pound bike

Not current on bikes for a good while now, my last one was a 4 cylinder 750 and would pop to 90 super fast and then it would go jet fast to 140 +. Don't understand why you are the first person to admit an acceptable speed ? I'm tired of people saying around 100 or so. Does no one want to ride fast anymore ?
I feel like you could do quite a bit more than that I have to VTXs 1300 C and a 1300 R both of themare 05 I've gotten them both to 135. ( both of them stock) except for ape hangers and small modifications to appearance

2002 1800 vtx c went 130 mph and it could have gone faster but the wind blew my feet off the pegs. I was doing a superman pose at 130 mph!!!! scary asf.. but the bike was perfectly balanced.

I had both. The 1800 would spin the rear tire through 3rd gear. The Magna would not. The spinning equalized them even though the 1800 was so much heavier. I've heard stories about the 900 or 1000 Magna. No experience to share.
I need another VTX. Great all around and reliable bike with good power.
I love mine but only get about 25 mi per gallon due to the extras

Prove it... I have a VTX1800 myself... 124 on GPS is it.... google the top speed it's 125mph. Do you have the VTX 1300 diff?
I’ve personally gone 138 on my 2004 VTX1800C. I have Vance pipes, programmer, and Vance air intake.

I have an '02 "S" Model. I pussed out on mine at 130. Still had a little left, I think.
My 08 with tuner + a few other mods,135. Ended up putting 205-55-16 Firestone car tire . Bike tire good for a month at best

Voz Anderson The 1300 will not do that stock. The speedo is off, also. It’s a great bike, though. It can be fast with a couple of modifications.

Braxton Aaron If your performance is that of stock, the it is an anomaly. The 1300 doesn’t naturally do those numbers.

Magna can run 130 tops...but shakey....real fast to about 117...vtx sofa 1800 hits 145 easy...couple mods 160
