I was prepping to sell my D7100 when I found this. Never having shot much video as I am a still photographer, I know have a camera to play with to learn video. Thanks so much.
Incredible knowledge and information presented. I've had my D7100 since it debuted and I don't use it enough to remember the insides and outs of the camera. In one hour I was able to get back to the level I needed to feel comfortable when shooting video. Thank you so much!

A great video thank you. Very simple and informative. I did get lost at the White Balance bit, I would have liked to see a simple solution for those who are not proficient in setting up a White Balance, such as should we just use Auto White Balance until we learn this part better and will that be sufficient? The other thing I would have liked to see is the process of manually focusing. Most people say you should manually focus while filming video, I'd love to have learnt more about that such as tips and tricks and physically seeing it being done.

I need to record some lessons and the camera will be mounted above my head while I demonstrate the activity I'm doing so I won't be able to see what's being recorded via Live View. How to configure the Nikon D7100 to monitor what is being recorded through a TV or computer monitor, or better, how to use the D7100 as a WebCan? Can you help me? I've already tried using an HDMI cable and also a USB cable, but the image doesn't appear on the monitors and the camera is not recognized by the softwere. I found out that Nikon has made the Webcam Utility program available. I downloaded it, installed it, and even then the image doesn't show up on the monitors. Thank you very much in advance.

I have had a Nikon D7100 for 3 years. Autofocus in movie mode is terrible. The whole thing is fine on a tripod but poor otherwise. Sheer ridiculous that you have to set up aperture BEFORE entering movie mode

I have D7100 with 18 to 140 mm f3. 5 lens. I found its very haed to record videos. It cimes with full of grains

It's surprising to know you can't adjust the aperture in video mode. Nikon really does not want you to shoot video with this camera.
