Devil Fruits are dreams and the ocean crushes those dreams. The other Devil Fruits weakness to the sea is a result of Imu’s oppressive control.

I think Imu might have the devil devil fruit which allows her to control all df powers and maybe even the actual devils and demonic creatures themselves. Oars was a demon like creature and was known as the contient puller, so theres a theory that Imu had him pull the red line ti where it is.

I still think It's a similar case a Luffy and actually most people in One Piece world have no scientific knowledge about what true abilities their own fruits have. Example, a fruit that controls "heat" as a concept might be seen by his own user that doesn't know any better as a "fire" fruit. Same could be applied to others, and Chopper in my case has some kind of mythical zoan of a deer entity cryptid or something similar

In the manga, theres a panel of all the elders and imu in thier transformations, and we also have all of thier names now, and it looked like they all have mythical zoans, or atleast zoan, since they were all in animal like transformations, imus was a dragon like looking thing, or a serpent.
