Seriously, I would’ve given that program a 5.9 for artistic impression. He had masculine flair and elegance that matched the music.

He was one of the most picturesque skaters ever. He had a solid technique and always related beautifully to his music. It was unfortunate that his personal demons shortened his life but I'm willing to bet that he could out dazzle all of today's " quad gods"!

I was never into figure skating but when Bowman the Showman was on no one could look away. So much talent and charisma! RIP

One of my all time favourite male skaters, Bowman the Showman was his calling card. That was a very solid, well presented Short/Technical Program. Technique was excellent, presentation was appropriate and believable, all delivered with speed, confidence and style. IMO, that was a great skate back in '88 and it's still a great skate in '22.
    Thank you for posting gbis.

One of my favorite skaters of all time. I saw him skate live while he would tour with the champions on ice show in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He had such a presence. it saddened me so much when he died.

I shared the Ice (Pickwick) with him, among other skaters. He taught me a few things. I got to see him land his first Triple jump. He had such a great sense of humor. Lol TMI because of Chris, I Really like guys with a butt. 😇

What an outstanding program and great style! I guess he choreographed that kick for the camera on purpose? Didn't get to appreciate him then because I was too young -- thank God for RUclips now! Thanks for sharing!

Personally speaking - I think Chris had more artistry, flair, and personality on the ice than Orser and Boitano put together...

Browning and Bowman both had so much charisma from 88-92. Would have loved to have seen both of them at the top of their game and duel it out.

I remember watching this when I was a kid. I wanted him to win.Others had better work ethnic, could do better jumps, more consistent.....but none had the showmanship or let's face it...were that HOT!. He said in an interview late in life that women were all over him (10% of the men were too if he admitted it or not). He seemed to have it all....looks, money, fame, talent to burn....sad he died so young.

Were there those who thought that Stojko was a similar skater to Bowman? I think Bowman was a better performer, but the martial arts and sort of "wild" life style is eerily comparative to me.
