- History is brought to life as oral history accounts from the descendents of some of early settles of Pinellas County portray the life of the men and women who once lived in the old houses and building now preserved at Heritage Village. Descendents gathered at Heritage Village in 2008 to relate stories that have been passed down to them about time long gone by. The now grown grandchildren of the McMullen, Coachmen and Chestnut families talk about the everyday lives of these prominent pioneer families. The old building themselves help to bring history to life as they tell their story of Pinellas County and the cities of Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Largo and others. Alicia Roberts remembers the one room school house of Union Academy where she was taught by her mother and later taught children there herself.
