Well, it worked well for Jannik, and he still uses a very old version of the Head Speed MP (painted to the new version). It will be great if Nike brings 'Nike by you' option for their tennis shoe lineups. I would like to customise a pair of my own Nike tennis shoes.
@FootDoctorZach -- your reviews are always top notch. Remind me of the rigor and detail put in reviews made by Consumer Reports. I wonder if you could one time do an in-depth and detailed review of all common tennis balls (penn champ., penn pro, penn marathon, wilson champ., wilson us open, babolat, dunlop atp/ao, etc.) I feel that your shoe reviews with cutting, wear and bounciness would be a great foundation for tennis ball review.
Raffa discussed the same within the context of having a tighter smaller sized shoe that allows for a quicker reaction abutting the foot . If you are a medium width foot , you can do the same with a thin sock in a mizuno WET 5 . The rest is about the other footbed performance characteristics.
One problem with this shoes. If you put in fairly thick orthotic, it puts way too much pressure on top of your foot. and after 1 hour, top of your foot starts killing you with pain. Otherwise as is, great shoes
really liked the cushion tech on these pair...there's a never ending new pairs of bball shoes coming out, but if you're looking for shoes to review, Adidas has been putting out a slew of retros: Crazy 1, Crazy 8, Top 10 2000...would be very interesting to see a review on some of those.
Great video. Somewhat unrelated do you think some of the technology from the illegal running shoes that nike and addidas have put out will come to tennis? Or is not really applicable? Running is completely different from lateral movement.
I actually bougt a pair of these because of the full length zoom (this was before the GP turbos). But I struggle with them: for one I had to cut the upper a little bit a the bottom of the laces in the middle as it was crushing my foot (I have to use orthotics) and two these aren't plush under foot at all in spite of the zoom and the foam (and I'm not exactly a feather thin fellow). These feel like hard speed focused shoes. I can't see how these would preserve my feet over 5 sets but maybe there's still a lot of breaking in this midsole (I bought them brand new).
those have heel zoom unit and are very low to the ground on forefoot, like a vapor 9 or X that Federer used, and a lot of tpu caging in the side panel, new Vapor 11 and Vapor pro 2 have forefoot units, these that Jannik uses are unique
This shoe gave me Haglund's deformity back in 2017... I also didn't like how it shows sweat stains really easily on its sides so it looks nasty early on.
If Nike even wants to compete with Asics in tennis... they need to get real and release the real shoes of what the pros wear. Bring back the Zoom Cage 3's, the Vapor 9.5s at a cheaper price, the Zoom Zero that Jannik uses, etc. The Vapor 11 and Vapor Pro 2 just feel awful.
It’s disappointing to see breakdowns like this. Nike used to innovate. It feels like they truly are a marketing company at this point. I get it, tennis is a niche sport why put resources into it? People still want Nike because of who wears or wore them. That being said I wear the Vapor Pro 2 and they are not horrible. A couple of tweaks (and rebranding it) it could be a great shoe.
I left Nike when they when from the Cage 3 to the trash Cage 4 (boat anchor). I need separate forefoot and heel so I went with the K-Swiss Hypercourt Supreme. Have also tried the Novak Court FF3 with good results. Did the Vapor Pro 2 replace the Vapor X?
It’s so annoying because I’m a player who’s game relies so much on movement and haven’t played as well as since they got rid of this sneaker. These and the ones Rafa was wearing at the time are so much better than the new shoes. @nike

I wouldn't exactly call that racquet "very old", it's just a few years old.
Unfortunately nike won't re-release them ...
So annoying 😊
Why not?

Not a bad idea
Omg!!! I love my zoom zero!! I wish Nike would bring them back!!!

I miss these. My favorite tennis shoe ever and I’ve been playing for 40 years. Please bring them back Nike!

Fantastic shoes, I´m actually using the last pair I could get locally. Very confortable.

Hey Zach just watching Monfils' game, any chance you'll be reviewing his Artengo shoe anytime soon? Cheers!
Love the advanced tech of some of these models.
Would love the Jordan version of these shoes.

Never got a chance to try these (size 12.5 is very hard to find) but this video was really cool though! 😊
Would you please review the NikeCourt Lite 4? They're nice looking and @$80 wondering if they are a steal at that price.
You make great content I appreciate it
Is there any shoes in the market that simillar to these? with the same highth and weight, thanks

Can u pls do a shoe review of the serious player 1 plus compared to the AE 1s
I have my stockpile, they really gotta re-release them. GP Turbo doesnt even come close to these :(
How do these compare to the Vapor pro that alcaraz uses?
those have heel zoom unit and are very low to the ground on forefoot, like a vapor 9 or X that Federer used, and a lot of tpu caging in the side panel, new Vapor 11 and Vapor pro 2 have forefoot units, these that Jannik uses are unique
Zach I do not know if it is possible but is there a way to make a custom vapor 11 with a lower profile like Alcaraz's?
Those are just original vapor pros
I meant with the vapor 11 upper with the vp1 out/midsole
What Sinner wears above his shoes? what's that for?
I think those are ankle braces for support.
Solid breakdown
I miss these...my all time favorites. I have pivoted away from Nike at this point.
They're one of a kind thats for sure
Can you do a review in the kobe 5????
This shoe gave me Haglund's deformity back in 2017... I also didn't like how it shows sweat stains really easily on its sides so it looks nasty early on.
Were these shoes not realeased in 2018?

Best tennis shoes for all time
Zero’s were too narrow for me so I had to give them away

@@willcheek2675 The Vapor Pro 1 is in between the X and the VP2. I have the FF3 as well, I haven’t brought them out on the court yet.
Please bring them back up Nike !!

Yeah they're unique thats for sure
why not try the nike Precision 6
Trust me. It’s not the shoes. Skill, talent, dedication and hard work. If you have all those, you can win with $20 shoes
But there great shoes 👟
Jannik sinner doesn’t use that exact shoe he has customs of that shoe
What would be the best pattern for sliding on hardcourts ? Ive seen so many ones and mixes off ,its confusing !
