Love that 1217 man! So glad you turned me onto it. I have had a blast with it. As you said the tires are garbage out of the box but once you get some good shoes on it, it is an amazing little rocket! Well worth the money it's a blast.
Nice, I think the 20mm extenders might work even better than the 15mm ones I ran. I am looking forward to see how yours runs in the corners ( haven't made it through the whole video yet). I didn't have the right size drill bit when I did my first set but I now have a 5mm drill bit I got off amazon which is the the right size. I learned those red inserts are important and I also learned after drilling them out.... they are not any stronger for sure (I broke the hex right out of one of my Jetwood JC14EP wheels when I smacked a curb which sucks as I really like them). Hopefully I will get another set down the road with another Jetwood truck and I will have 3 spares lol.
It helps the Jetwood tremendously! Now the Jetwood needs steering D/R. It will have a Dumbo x6f receiver soon, I wanted to test it 100% stock first and do a comparison. Thanks for watching
This was a really good video. I know it's basic for a lot of guys in the hobby but for us newbies it's really good to see a tutorial on even the simple things like hex extenders. Gives us the confidence to give it a shot and do more upgrades in the future. Thanks Britt if you have a link to those, I would love to get a set for my 1217. Unless you don't think I need them take care, buddy.
Thank you sir! It's 40+ years in the hobby, testing and trying new things. Everyone has it easy now from how it used too be! It got to 49 today, I might jump in the pool 😂😅
The JC14EP is really darty. It is hard to explain but I find it hard to get up to top speed.... but once I get into it.... say 40+ mph (in a 60+ mph setup), it becomes more stable once it is up at speed. It is that low to mid range stuff that I struggle most at. I agree on the wheelie bar on the JC14EP. I found the exact same issue. I have a Dumbo RC in my JC14EP for my next run (70 mph attempt) as it is SO HARD to control with that razer sharp steering. It is fun for parking lot bashing but not speedruns!😄
@@careynorris9961 I understand, but every RC you get will be from China, in 1 way or another, whether it be parts, assembly or just built there altogether. Thanks for stopping by.
Here's the link incase you want to add them to something else, maybe your H16BM? The DeeRc 1217 doesn't need them. ShareGoo 4PCS 12mm Aluminum Wheel... www.amazon.com/dp/B07L2XVF61?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have to give you credit man, you are very thorough! Great info here, especially for a newbie in the hobby!

Those hex extenders look great. That's got to provide so much good stability!

I wish i knew 5% of what you and Brian do about RCs !

I think the dumbo will help that, alot! You will be shocked at the difference between it and the DeeRc 1217.
After the Laegendary Thunder BS Im done with the china crap.

@10scaleperformance I really mean the chinese stuff that isn't backed by a company from elsewhere. Sorry I didn't specify.
@careynorris9961 I completely understand 💯
