Good build up . The suspense is killing us . L2thew had his speed runner hauling azz . I think he hit a 100 or 89 , it was up there . Finding a good open spot other than a road is the hardest part . There s a huge difference getting up to speed with some space . I feel lucky to have a spot but sometimes there’s walkers

Fiba tape is a step up from traditional drywall mesh . It’s a little thicker so good for this application,I arion imo . No relation to anything here but they got this stuff called “no coat” for drywall corners and vaulted ceiling angles instead of traditional taping tape and it makes a super straight crisp line .

Hey man, how are you? I tried the Laegendary receiver and transmitter on the Lil Sonic, and it works great! I've just gotta get everything mounted like yours. Thanks for showing everything. I told you that I learn from you! 🙂 It's just hard to work on this little truck, you said that yourself though. I'll be watching like always to see how you get those tires mounted. I have the HBX wheels as well but they didn't work for me, even with putting hubs on it. It's like the hubs are not thick enough. I may have to use the HBX hubs bc they are a little thicker. I don't have any hex extenders and that's what I might have to do also. Thanks again!

Yeah, we both had the same 70 mph goal and are getting there is slightly different ways and hope to push what has been done before forward. It is more of a fun rivalry where we compare what worked with each other. I can’t claim my 68.7 mph speed is legit either…. My new GPS was not inspiring confidence that day and when I took it out yesterday my 4s LIPO had a failed connection from my crash last week so I couldn’t do a backup run with the 19t pinion. So my real top speed so far is only 65 mph as far as I am concerned. We are definitely not getting a prize if one of us “wins”. 😂. But… we can dream. Good luck getting that legendary to your goals! That is some serious speed you got there my friend.

The sonic brushless is zippy I love shredding it in my driveway, perfect little 1/16th truck especially for the price, love the thunder too but that bitch is loud on my street so I save that for the parks lol

I have the same issue with my HBX 16890A 1/16 scale truck. It has the same wheelie bar (or very similar) and it is pretty much useless. Yes, it is fun but it feel too much like a toy to me compared to even the 2997A and especially a 1/10th scale. I find it also is really hard to control off road and is wanting to snap oversteer all of the time. Honestly, the look like almost the exact same truck but yours is a lot cheaper. It is a little rocket with it modified and I can throw it in a back pack easily which can be nice.... but for me 1/12 scale is much better and 1/10th is the way to go if folks can afford it (which of course the Legendary Thunder has been great for you as an entry level truck/outstanding value! I was going to try a 19t in my 16890A as it has the same motor mount you are describing and comes with a 14t. I think that would push it past 60 mph with my current setup. 🤣They sell adjustable ones on Ali Express that are aluminum and I believe I a saw and adjustable printable one up on Thingyverse. You may well have broken my speed.... I am not confident the GPS was reading correctly.

What heatsink do you use on the motor?

I have went all stock cvd's, and yeah, mine are all bent. The two biggest issues I'm having, is with the A arm holders on the front, and the wheel hubs, with the steering arm on them. I've broken several, and just had to rig up sometihing but don't think its going to work. I am wondering. Do you know of any other parts that'll fit this thing? Like for a Arrma or Traxxas? They're so much cheaper. I got the carbon center brace, the aluminum chasis plate, cvd on all 4 corners, a 60amp esc, with a 45j00kv motor, a hotrc 6 channel radio/receiver, a 20kg all metal servo, with a metal horn, an aluminum steering ackerman, and an upgraded servo link, and I'm trying to fit a new slipper/spur and pinion set up on it, but not having much luck. When I went with the carbon center brace, I no longer have my spur and pinion enclosed. Thinking about going backward on that, although, it's not caused me any issues really, so i dunno. Anyways, I really want to find cheaper wheel hub, steering, and arm hardware for this thing. The parts on amazon are INSANE! Freakin 25 bucks for aluminum rear arms, ok, but freaking 50 bucks for the front? Nah, Carbon shock towers with metal body posts front and rear for 40 though, getting that.

I have the Brushless version and I've ran it on 3s and didn't have a problem. Maybe the ESCs differ in specs when it comes to production? Idk but I'll be waiting to see what yours does on 3s and I hope it does well. Well you said your daughter took it out and it smoked it after a couple of mins. I'll be waiting to see what esc you run. I have a laegendary esc that I could use but I have problems programming the remotes to them. I think you had mentioned using a Laegendary ESC on this one or the Tornado but either way, I wanna see what and how you do it. Also I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU GET TO THE TORNADO! Lol. I'm just stuck and can't figure out the servo but I know you can. Thanks again for mentioning me and remembering what I'm waiting for you to do but I'm also interested in the Lil Sonic as well. What a great comparison without even driven the two of them in the video. You really did a nice job of highlighting how the brushless version is so much better than that brushed version. I didn't catch the price difference but if you can't afford the brushless version.... keep saving!🤣 One thing I scratched my head about is why he 2 small LIPOs and not just 1 bigger one. The connector to run them in parallel almost seems like a Band-Aid. I guess it was a little less expensive to supply the 2 smaller LIPOs instead of 1 bigger one. 😕 Thanks for the shoutout and I cannot wait to get the "shipment"! This is going to be fun! Hope things improve as quickly as possible with your father in law.

I put a 2845 5900kv and 60amp esc and I run it ilon 3s and it is a 🚀

You will break the drive axle if you run 3s battery and it have a 14th .06 mod pinion on the motor.

I have two of them and they are great and fun to play with on3s
