Also interesting tat he's playing his 1956 Framus Zenith. This is the first guitar that he ever owned and used it in the Quarrymen and also The Beatles before they got electric guitars. The guitar is 28 years old in this clip. He srill has it to this day.
@@Bella-nt7ecWow, I've never heard any stories of The Beatles smashing any guitars or somebody else smashing one of their guitars. Only knew about Paul's bass being stolen. 🤔
he said in an interview he made about 4 to 5 pounds and it taken to the seamens mission down the street, he talk in great length about this scene in an interview i found here on youtube.he was out there for about an hour.
First time I ever seen this i couldnt believe it so i did a little research and sure enough it really is him the real.paul McCartney hillarious thank you .maim
@@kentclark6420It does sound like Paul, if you know his voice well enough. As for looks, he's got something in his cheeks to puff them out. And a wig.
In an interview he said he was out there doing it for an hour, where they were filming, there must be footage of him doing busking other stuff. It would be great if we could see that. The footage might belong to 20th century Fox and sat on the archive shelf gathering dust. I have never heard of paul talk about what happened to the other 59 mins even though he mentions that he was filmed covertly from a van.
@@sarahm.5356 yes I knew that and I loved hearing Paul tell the story about it. He said a couple people did recognize him and that he got some tips as well.
LOL just goes to show you it is all in the name! Here no one knew it was Paul McCartney but had they known by advertisement or other means he would have had a mob forming around him! LOL
I don't think so. It sounds more like some kind of a regional English accent (non-Liverpool). He's doing that old-time music hall sound he loves so much.
I think Paul put himself into a pretty dangerous place, John was murdered 4 years earlier. But pretty good it captured the real thing. Thanks fir the Vid!!!!!
London has surpassed NYC in violent crime statistics since the summer of 2017.. A headline on the front page of The Telegraph in the fall of 2017 declared "London Now More Dangerous Than NYC".. FACT
wow....can you believe that the singer dude from Wings has gotten to the point where he has to butcher classic songs from the Beatles on street corners just to make ends meet???!!! :)
Paul wasn't dead, but by the time he recovered from his accident the Beatles had already replaced him, so this is how he made his living and that's how he really sounded. On weekends he would sell stained sheets mounted in picture frames, claiming that he could see the face of Jesus in the stains. He even entered one in an art competition and won 3rd place. It was rumored that the sheets were from his own bed.
Poor guy. I hope he makes a buck or two.
+Lynn Turman
He sure will. If he keeps practicing he might get really good at it.
William made a lot of bucks since 1966 when he "joined The Beatles as an already set up affair".
I really like this take on Yesterday, I wish there was a full version
I adore it too. I wish he'd do a busking album of this and anything else he wants to play. All thanks for the infectious joy he and his music brings.
This is FANTASTIC! I love that Paul got to be just a non-famous musician for a little bit.
I busked in Leicester square (street magic) at that time, and heard a day or two later about this. Was very sorry I missed it.
it's from the movie

Five quid for an hour's work... not that bad in 1984!
Hillarious! :D I would've LOVED to see his entire set. Unless it's an hour long loop of "Yesterday".
Even then 😂

Neither could I!

"Am I who?"
"Are you Paul McCartney?"
"No but I wish I had his money."

Too bad this great version was not on the soundtrack... even for 40 seconds...
this version is better than the original.
This was a scene in Give my Regards to Broad Street.
Yes it was from Broad Street, but apparently Paul was really out their busking for strangers.

Yes and Paul is played by William Shepherd.

It's the same Yesterday that you know, but a happy film's version
Tomorrow never knows
It's Yesterday, written by Paul McCartney (1942-1966) in 1965 and performed here by William Shepherd (1937-)
