Ok is that what camilla's mother looked like?
Are we going to see xander or something as he lost his mother too. These mothers are evil. Meanwhile hoshido still has it's king and queen died of natural causes

This. This right here encapsulates the core of what made Camilla what she is in Fates.
Ever since childhood she was forced to kill others in order to survive, and also to gain favor from her mother - the only family she had back then - and it slowly broke her spirit until her only form of self esteem was pride in her ability to fight and kill. But eventually she found a family who truly loved and appreciated her in Xander, Leo, and Elise, (and later Corrin), who also happen to be the only other remaining royal children left.
So what does she do? How does she show her gratitude to them for everything they've given to her? What's a damned wretch like her who has done unforgivable things, who was raised with nothing but cruelty and bloodshed supposed to do?
Why, she overcompensates as best as she possibly fucking can, of course.
She /showers/ her siblings with love and affection just as a mother would. Like a mother she and the rest of the children were SUPPOSED to have. She chides Xander when (she thinks) he is being neglectful, is the one Leo and Elise usually goes to for advice, and dotes on Corrin -the one she views as the most vulnerable of them all- excessively. She takes this role very seriously, as it seems to be her only way of retaining a piece of her humanity. And the way her attitude can switch from nurturing to vicious - whether out of jealousy (Jakob) or intense fear of abandonment (Selena) - at the drop of a hat shows how Nohr's court has damaged her, perhaps irreparably. And I believe she is all too aware of that.
The people she loves are everything to her. Taking care of them is keeping herself alive. Defending them and keeping them close to her at all costs are all she has left of herself.
Honestly, I think all Camilla really wants is to live in peace with her family. Her ending says just as much.
But until the war's end, she must continue to be the doting, dangerous sister. To ground herself. To protect the light of the future just barely within their reach.
To become a good person.
Just look at birthright when corrin leaves she becomes sickly and weak she unravels as her world collapses around her honestly her and elise seem the most affected leo is hurt of course and idk what xanders malfunction is but camilla.. she breaks with her family divided due to corrins departure she loses herself but even then she still helps (telling elise about the underground) it just goes to show
Finally, someone who understands Camilla as well as I do. Finally, someone who sees inside the beautiful exterior.
Rue English exactly. When you go through hardships you don't come out the same person. Your ether stronger than newly forged iron swords or more broken than a shattered one. Some people say life is a game of chess and we're ether a pawn or a player, others say life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get, I say life is like origami with each event shaping you into something rather that's good or bad depends solely upon the person.
I like Camilla have been broken beyond repair yet here I stand using one creature as my greatest inspiration: the dragon! A dragon never yields until victory is achieved. I am blind in one single eye I have been since birth, I am weak, pathetic and even cowardly but I do NOT GIVE UP!!!! I have back talked authority and even made some fear me!
And I did it all to prove one thing even someone like me can become a powerful tool for good! For me the dragon symbolizes power and bravery! It symbolizes the will to NEVER!!! GIVE!!!! UP!!!!!!! Yes it means to some I am stubborn as a mule but to others it just shows them that when I get knocked down I get right back up again and knock them down instead!
We are all broken in some way or another. But we need to rise above what shattered us like glass and show that even something like that won't hold us back!

I can only imagine how leo dealt with all of this. I can only imagine that is where he got his massive inferiority complex. One can only think about the horrors he might have had to deal with under the possible tutelage of Iago.

@@nolategame6367 Those are the ones you should fear the most in environments like this. She is, after all, the one that taught Camilla to smile through everything. It was a subtle and quick lesson in part 2 but when Camilla smiled at the end of this part it made everything fall into place.

I think a lot of people are under the impression that Elise was born after the Concubine Wars. The biggest reason for that is she's a lot more cheerful than her siblings who experienced it (Leo and Camila).
Rolf Ponce But she was still a part of it. Her mother used Elise like how Leo and Camilla's used them. Elise was born towards the end of the wars not after the wars ended. Her birth is what signaled the end of the wars.
Ahh yeah, I got that wrong. She was born towards the end of it. Not sure about her birth being the end of the wars though as she was still used by her mother to try and gain favor with Garon which implies the war was still ongoing then.
Rolf Ponce Yeah but at that point Garon was dying. While Elise was used by her mother Garon was slowly being possessed by the Big Bad of Revelations. Fun fact Elise never got to Garon as Xander, Leo, and Camilla did. She saw Garon for how he acts during the events of Fates and prior which is only noticeable in Leo and Elise's support conversation.
Did anyone else catch on to the idea that the reason Camilla might have become a Wyvern rider is because she spent her whole life in a cage? It seems to me that would be reason enough.

Gods, one of the reasons why Camilla's my favorite character in the Fire Emblem games. I imagined her backgroundstory almost like this.

I'm still dissapointed that Camilla's the only royal who isn't getting a support with Azura. I mean in the gay support they talked about the beautiful stars in Nohr or, like here, they could've talked about their past.

I think, Camilla knows that she's not a "good person", after all. Maybe this is the reason why she became such a bloodthirsty woman...

A personality is something that camilla has 0 of.
She's just lovesick for corrin. And that's it.
This made me like her a little bit more. But I still hate how almost every word out of her mouth is always "Corrin".
while camilla is FAR from my favorite fire emblem character (not even in the top 3 when it comes to fates characters), you seemingly don't understand the depth behind camillas obsession with corrin. its not that she is lovesick for corrin (eventhough they can marry, but thats just because corrin is the MU who can S support literally everyone and their mum), she just has a mother complex for her younger siblings, especially corrin. due to how her mother treated her when she was a kid, she now projects what she would have wanted her mother to be for her onto her younger siblings. Also, being a pawn for her mother for her entire childhood very clearly desensitized her to violence either by, as portrayed in max' videos, being forced to kill some of her half-siblings or due to her mother severely physically punishing her everytime she didn't behave like her mother wanted her little pawn to behave.

...I love this game so much that I went to the trouble of earning every single convo of the parents gen up to A rank and spent 150 hours support grinding to do it. So I can appreciate when I see something like this because I see continuity and attention to detail. Good job!
Arthur makes for the best choice for her in Conquest do to this event.

Pairing Arthur with Azura in conquest is kinda cruel, though. Imagine having the shitty luck he has to be married to the only girl who canonically dies in Conquest, out of everyone else
I don't know what happens to Ione, I hope Camilla ends up killing her mother in a gruesome manner like feeding Ione to her Wyvern while Ione begs for her life

I'm confused, is that the end? Did she kill the other girl at the beginning of the video, because her dialogue makes it sound like she didn't, and I expect there to be repercussions either way, so it seems like a weird place to end on.

Well this is just one story. I'm sure there are several stories from that period of time. You may see them eventually...
I liked the first two convos, but I think having Camilla actually kill a child crosses a moral event horizon that makes her irredeemable. If you want to have Camilla actually commit murder as a child, it would be better if she was killing one of the other harem mothers, who actually deserved it. Having Azura talk to her before doing the assassination makes for a better story, as she would have actually learned something. What's the point in the botched first attempt, if she's just going to go back and kill her anyway, from a literary stand-point?
That's just it. Think about her current personality where she even stated that she would kill Corrin if she has to. Meaning that literally anyone, even beloved siblings, that threaten her way of mind will be killed. Its actually explained in Ghast's video about her, where he theorizes and explains through her support conversations that she has a severe mental disorder.

Merry Christmas everyone! The wait is finally over! This is the conclusion! (I will write a short epilogue soon to wrap up and possibly hint at future related projects in the future).
Next up after that though, I'll take a break from Convos for a little to focus on the next Follow the Franchise episode.

Wow, I was expecting Camilla to be found out by Theodora and somehow stopped by Azura or something. Either way, I look forward to the epilogue. Nice use of Arthur's background with Azura here. This vid does make me wish that there was a legit support conversation with Camilla and Azura. I don't get why she was the only one that didn't get one.
