      I saw a few of Nadal's training sessions at Indian Wells. He was phenomenal in practice....he was simply high intensity on every stroke ....when you see him hitting up close, the ball just explodes off his racket ! Roger just kind of glides around hits a few easy shots in practice !

    :10 how is it even possible to shank a ball with that kind of spin....the spin he creates man...doesn't matter how short he hits it that spin is deadly. Even on hard courts I've seen him hit a forehand that lands in service box but jump up like 15 feet, just nuts. Imo he surpasses federer with his clay dominance...clay as we all know is hardest surface to win on and yes there are clay court specialists, but we've never seen someone this dominant on clay and also dominant on the other 3 surfaces. What a time to be alive with these 3 players.

    • @jonathank2029
      @jonathank2029 2 года назад +4

      Nadal is the best ever on clay but look at his GS timeline on Wikipedia if you think he's "dominant" on grass and hard. He won the career GS but lost more frequently and to inferior players outside of clay. He's well improved on other surfaces but I would never say Nadal is a "dominant" hard or grass court player. THAT would be Roger Federer who won WIMBY (grass) and USOPEN (hard) EACH 5 straight times in the same timeframe. Nadal's topspin forehand is also less effective on those surfaces...

Rafa doesn't have that much hair on his head, He is using his old racquet (his current one has orange on the handle, right?), and didn't Rafa get a new head coach a few years back? Toni still seems to be in charge, and he himself looks younger than I remember. My guess is this would be sometime between 2013-2016? 2008 his hair was longer and he had a bigger build. Sometime after 2010 he started slimming down and cut his hair shorter.

    • @alexrebega1289
      @alexrebega1289 4 года назад +4

      Clay îs slower. When it hits The ground The Ball loses speed but gets more 'efect'. S-o if The Ball has topspin it bounces higher than it would on hard. If it has sidespin it goes more sideways. Because it is a slower surface it îs harder to hit a winer. You have to use topspin to get better angles. You have more Time to position for The shots but it îs harder to get The Ball past your oponent. Player with a good defense are hard to beat on clay. Also you slide. În a good way. If you are comfortable sliding it helps you hit o The run or get to drop shots. And you also get dirty. Also, slower chance of injuries than on The hard.

    • @krakou2
      @krakou2 4 года назад +3

      Best advice i got was against the grain. Do NOT adjust to clay, play your usual game. Only expect the ball to come back a lot more often and be prepared to hit more shots than on fast/hard courts
