Since you asked for comments from owners, here you go. Purchased for $206,000 V6 First Edition Manual 2023 with every option. Run in as per Lotus advice, took it to the track, it broke down in the pitlane before the first lap. Brought it home, next week the alarm activates and can't turn off without disconnecting the battery. Back to Lotus where they can't replicate the problem. Take it to the track again and performs ok until fuel fillup at the end of the day and won't start. Disconnect the battery again and starts but don't dare to stop all the way home (90 minutes). In total it broke down four times in the first four months. Numerous bubbles appeared in passenger door paintwork, back to Lotus, needs a new door, on back order no idea when it's coming. Water leaking in the footwell, Back to Lotus, a firewall plug failed, carpet soaked and completely removed to dry. As a side note I also have a 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 (yes a 9 year old car) which is more fun on track and on road, more comfortable and after 6 track days 10 times more reliable. Admittedly I did drive the Emira from the Gold Coast to Bathurst and back with some fun roads on the way and it didn't miss a beat on that trip. After 12 months ownership I traded my Emira with 5,000 km's for a net loss of over $100,000.

Over a couple of years with a ton of road miles, track days and closed-road events it hasn't missed a beat. The only downside has been that I rarely get to fill it up without having a conversation with another Lotus fan. I think the AMG powered cars will be phenomenal when they get around to really seeing what the engine can do but for me the manual gearbox is the killer feature. I'm looking forward to Lotus developing the Emira even further.
I am Australian who lives in China and owns a Lotus Emira i4 Touring spec (not the V6). The Chinese version is more powerful with 400hp and lots of torque. So with eight gears, being lighter with more power the outcome is as expected - 3.7 seconds to 100 kph. The other thing to note is that rear suspension on the AMG version is better and lighter plus the motor is lower and lighter so it handles better. I have driven this car as a daily driver and driven is all over China. It has exceeded my expectations and it has been 100% reliable. I hope you guys get the more powerful AMG motor shortly. It is comfortable but it handles and goes. Because it has 8 gears and a turbo motor on the freeway it has fantastic fuel consumption. By the way it looks absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.

Comment from a Lotus owner. I have an Elise Final Edition and have been lucky enough to drive a V6 manual Emira a few times now. And I think it's awesome. It sounds like a lot of money, but they were asking close to that for the final edition Exiges, and this is so superior. Would I buy one? Hmmm. $200k for an A45 AMG ? Noooo
V6 is the bettre choice... it sounds so much better and has a manual transmision. Hard to justify this money for a 4-pot and an automatic Lotus is just sacrilege, they're all about feel, feedback and involvement which is the polar opposite of evreyting an autobox stands for.
Lotus will not be Lotus when a ev brand. Just yuck 🤢
When is the review of Sexy Mumma? Time stamp 6.49 😂
not buying for 200k, for 70k? maybe!
Same price as a civic type r? Incredible!!!! ❤😂
@@AGuyIn civic type r should be 40k lol
@@oliverforsyth3411 I’m going to wait for the depreciation and buy second hand at this rate
Bro, only thing you’ll be buying is a VB commodore. Park out the front of your place in Frankston.
1 Minute in. "So".. Car experts' favourite "conjunction"
1:07 - "So"
1:55 - "So"
2:12 - "So"
2:52 - "So"
2:29 - "So"
3:12 - "S O"
3:20 - " S O "
SO, that is 7 unnecessary "sentence starters" within 3:30. I can not be bothered to irritate my ears through the whole video. SO let us do some maths.
So that means (ag sorry man let me try to be better)
Once the maths has been done, the predicted amount off times that Paul will use So is 44 times.
Just script better. I will put money on the bet that there is no scripting ahead of a shoot. Maybe a broad discussion of what can be discussed, but no script.
Do yourself a favour and watch Throttle house. Their presentation is far more interesting and professional than what CarExpert's is shaping up to be, and I truly think it has to do with better scripting.
SO, please take care.
So, we don’t script. Scripting is for movies.
SO go watch whatever u like. Good job Paul. Ur doing great mate. 👍
That drivers view camera angle with the glare is horrible.
Oof
Mg xpower still has it beat
It's too expensive 😢 for a small British German made sports car 😮
Very nice design but quite disappointing in real life, the car is as high as an Evora but losing the 2+2
Nice design but spoiled by its proportions and this ridiculously high cabin.
Not racy enough for a Lotus in my opinion...heavy...As expensive as if it had been the replacement for an Esprit, but its size is not as iconic... In short, we are waiting to see Lotus again on a new generation Elise proposal...

Mercedes A45 AMG is quicker! 😀
isn't this made in China?
Lotus Group is composed of three primary entities. Lotus Cars, a high-performance sports car company, is based in Hethel, Norfolk. Lotus Tech, an all-electric lifestyle vehicle company, headquartered in Wuhan, China. Comes with COVID as an option for an extra $1500.00 😂
No, the Emira is made in Hethel, UK
@@calais2005the ignorance is next level, shouldn’t have even commented on this 😂
@@AGuyInYou can tell this guy has zero brain cells with “Calais” in his username. He worships one of the biggest shitboxes ever made. A car that disgraced this nation and resulted in GM going bankrupt here. Go spray some water on the road and try to do a burnout in your shitbox @calais2005

Three three Australian taxes make Australia the most expensive place in the world to buy cars next to Singapores crazy car taxes. Popular Cars like Porsches Range rovers RR sport models ect that most working class people can afford to buy in places like UK Europe and USA are out of reach in Australia . We are now seeing a flood of Chinese and Korean are mostly underpowered with bad handling, rubbish, undercut disrupt the Australian car markets because they have cheap labor work forces cheap undercutting LCT threshhold.
With this ridiculous pricing,at this rate I’ll give up on buying this car till I’m like 60 or until the stock market booms exponentially and stick to my cheaper JDMs or even cheaper I’ll just buy a Xiaomi Su7 and beat this car in the drag race 😂😮 hydraulic steering for an extra 150k? Nah😂 what is the depreciation value on this car? I hope I am not shocked and it can hold value
@AGuyIn when you rake out luxury car tax and shipping it's the same price as other countries
@AGuyIn when you take out luxury car tax it's the same price as other countries
Worst lotus ever produced. Totally unreliable. Junk
