Considering the world record for a mile at 14 is 4:19 I highly doubt every kid in the comment section has kids at their school running 4:30/4:40 second miles
Kevin Rostam considering they don't run the mile in the olympics and the fact that in 1999 there are no olympics in pretty sure you have your facts wrong. Time right though got to admit I'm impressed considering the year is wrong.
This thirteen year old on my team was offered $700 by his uncle to run 5 or under. One of the kids on the other team heard him and stepped on the kids laces as they were coming out of the woods, the kid offered he money got a 5:03, I then went to the kid that tripped him and punched him in the face
Keep up the grind my man! 🤘 You've got an awesome running future. I started out similar, not as fast though. Now I'm running a 4:40. Running as much as you can helps so much
not to take anything away from the kid but a guy in my highschool was running sub 5's as an 8th grader so its not really uncommon for a kid that age to run in the 5's
Erik Guzman I get you. When I ran my first ever 600 in indoor track, I didn’t finish it running. I was wheezing and fucking walking to the finish line. People clapped for me and I was so embarrassed
I think it’s kinda funny that everyone on here says his time is terrible, that kids in his age group will run so much faster. At my last middle school track meet, the boys mile winner I believe had around a 5:25 mile. The boy from my district placed second with 5:30. I’ve never seen anyone run faster than a 5:18 at track meets. (For boys,12-14 age group) For the girls(it wasn’t a great group lol) winner got 6:29. I came in second with 6:34. Sometimes I place, sometimes I don’t, it depends on how good the other team is. Usually the best are in the low sixes. The best I’ve seen was a 5:45 by a 7th grader. Athough, the record for girls in my school is 5:34 I believe. Not sure about boys. (12-14 age group.) we haven’t gone to invitationals yet, so I’m sure we’ll see a ton of crazy times there, but still. So can someone explain to me where these times are coming from with your insane low 4 minute miles at what, 9 years old? Seriously this comment section is fucked 😂

Ali A Ninja I do actually, I like hearing people’s times even if they aren’t the fastest, because there are people out their who work hard as fuck and run slower than average times. My brother for example was a not so great freshman runner with a 5k time of about 23 minutes, but by Junior year (since he worked his ass off to his physical limits, not being able to walk up stairs after practices, having migraines, throwing up several times every practice) he managed to take his slow time and got it to a 15:30 5K and a 4:30 mile. I care about him sharing his time, because one day he could very well be a great runner, but then again I guess you don’t care about great runners so my bad.
I saw this video when I was out of shape a few years ago and was blown away but now that gave my self a year to get in shape I know for fact that even though its impressive it's achievable because I'm 14 and my mile time is around 5:22
VERY fast woah. My school had an 8th grader run a 4:43 back in 2016. However, this phenom runner has recently DESTROYED that record with a freaking 4:22.4 in 8TH GRADE. Not even joking. This guy now has a record of 4:11.8 as a sophomore, and track season isn't even over yet.
If anyone has any tips for training for outdoor track please let me know I’m currently a female high school freshman and my current pr is 5:55 in the mile with a consistent pace of obviously 1:30 if you have any training tips or actual running race time tips let me know
Awesome Adam yes there is, because if you go on pace at the start, you will be able to maintain that pace and maybe speed up at the end, meaning your time will be better
I only ran the mile once and I ran a 5:08. Right now I haven’t ran in a month (injury) but when I get better I wanna run under 4:50 when the indoor track season starts.
This is middle school, not down sizing your freshmen teammates cuz I'm only a 5:08 freshmen but at least for me middle school training and high school training is very different
It's hilarious how people are lying saying they've done 4:30 or have kids at their school doing 4:30. Like what is lying actually doing for you? It's actually sad.
4:30 is a very impressive mile time, but it doesn’t mean they are lying. My 1600m record is 4:28, (a mile is 1609m) so its basically the same give or take 1 second. Every year, there are roughly 1,000 - 1,500 high schoolers that run a sub 4:30 1600m in the U.S, roughly 100 are freshman (14-15 yrs old), if you don’t believe me, look it up on athletic.net The mile record is 3:43, so anyone who says they have run faster than that is obviously lying. And anyone who says that have run faster than 4:10, I would start to doubt, because those are seriously fast times, but certainly not impossible, in fact there are over a thousand people and counting that have run a sub 4:00 minute mile, including someone who I went to high school with, he runs at stanford university and ran a 3:59 mile just a couple months ago. He was a senior when I was a freshman so I didn’t really know him that much. But everyone in our school knew who he was. He fastest mile in hs was 4:06
I ran 4:52 when I was 14, I am 18 now and my pr is 4:28, but I ran that when I was 16. I don’t see myself ever running faster than that because I will likely never train that hard again and I am now more into weight lifting
I swear I did a 5:35 when I was 11. Although it was in prime conditions- great weather, fast trail, and plus I had a college runner that was pacing me. Couldn't break 5:30 at all in XC in seventh grade, which was two years later. Skipped track season that year. Going in to eighth grade, I had a break through and ran a 10:15 2 mile for XC and then ran a 4:46 in track. Now I'm in my freshman year, and I ran a 16:17 5k in XC, and just started my track season with a 9:56 3200 meter. Hope to break 9:30 in the 2 mile and 4:30 in the mile this year.
Sheesh I can’t remember commenting on this I just saw this on my email. I ended up running 15:11 5k, 9:11 3200, and 4:19 mile. Hows your running going?

I only ran the mile once and I ran a 5:08. Right now I haven’t ran in a month (injury) but when I get better I wanna run under 4:50 when the indoor track season starts.
I'm 14 and my fastest ever mile was 5:14 it's nice to be able to see what it looked like from another perspective
There is a 14 year old in my grade that can run a 5:07 like if u want me to get a video of him
Lumpy George 14 year old i race against in track ran a 4:48..the one in ur grade not to special
JakeCattails XD sure no
I run 6 seconds slower and im 13
Alex Ediker *cough* Liar *cough*
Alex Ediker Proof?
I just used my teleportation jutsu and finished it in -4 seconds
I was 14 when I started running a mile . Now I'm 18 and I'm almost done
I don’t get why everyone is super impressed, on my track team, we had a freshman run 4:40 in the mile and another ran 4:39
This is middle school, not down sizing your freshmen teammates cuz I'm only a 5:08 freshmen but at least for me middle school training and high school training is very different
Also I'm 14 lol
I’m 14 and recently ran a 4:41 mile just graduated 8th grade last month
My 14 pr is 5:16
Really isnt a big deal. I ran 5:23 at 14. 50+ 8th Graders break 5 minutes in the mile every year.
I literally never said "only" you idiot.
Inspire damn daniel getting a sub 4:30 mile in seventh grade its totally believable
no you didn't
Nice.
Dylan Hodgson you're so fucking cool
I just turned 13. 3 months ago and my mile time is 6:36 :^ is that good ?
Was this a track meet? Because this looks like the LONELIEST EFFING TRACK MEET i've ever seen.
I just turned 13 and I ran a time of 5:37.01
It's hilarious how people are lying saying they've done 4:30 or have kids at their school doing 4:30. Like what is lying actually doing for you? It's actually sad.
Syrtech how is that lying? 4:30 isn’t even that impressive lol. I’m 14 running 4:40 at the moment
@@harryspringfield6970 if its not impressive then how did you not beat it.
He fastest mile in hs was 4:06
My sister ran 4. 36.18
Mary Gilder STOP you have violated the law. That is dangerously close to the women’s world record
i saw the green uniforms and thought they looked familiar then i saw my indoor coach and realized that my friends were in 2nd and 3rd
There's a 13 year old at my school who ran this exact time
I'm 4 days old and I can run a 2.3 second mile
I live in colorado and im a 14-year-old with a 4:20 mile
Greek Yeah ok
Greek just ask me if I care
no you don't
Colorado? 420? Bro ur high
Greek the record is 4:19 you such a liar 😂
I ran 4:52 when I was 14, I am 18 now and my pr is 4:28, but I ran that when I was 16. I don’t see myself ever running faster than that because I will likely never train that hard again and I am now more into weight lifting
I have been dead for thousands of years and ran a mile through the wilderness in 3 moon cycles
Not to brag but I got an amazing time of 10:21 for my mile, so I'm kinda a big deal. Running, no honey I crawled.
This is good but it’s not insane I got people at my school running 5 minutes miles in PE
But I go to a Hispanic and Black school so we all athletic
Lil Ched 😂😂 what the fuck is this comment
Lil Ched I’m white as can be and I run sub 5
I was bloody happy with a 5:36 mile so this kid did good
I swear I did a 5:35 when I was 11.
That's pretty slow
How you doing senior/junior year now?
Sheesh I can’t remember commenting on this I just saw this on my email. I ended up running 15:11 5k, 9:11 3200, and 4:19 mile. Hows your running going?
Wow that's good. I'm 13 and run a 17:54 5k 11:00 3200 and 5:03 1600 for personal records
I'm gonna be honest I'm 14 and I run a 10:28 mile lol.
Nfl Heat don’t worry I’m a 14 minute mile tbh
I ran a mile in 17 minutes... 😂😂
Tom Kilgannon I could walk in that time you lazy fuck.
THATS SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
@@lwhippledc stfu
I can run a 5k (3.1miles) in 17:23
u mean walk right?because i mean God,i hope your joking holy shit are you like 14 and 300 pounds.
Kinda weird how there aren’t many cheers
At my school people would be screaming.
Faster than me
I’m 14 and run a 5:50
But I’ve never trained cardio seriously
Maybe I’ll start training this summer
