This literally happened last night out of nowhere and over 5 years use. I was devastated just to push the damn pp fuse at 3am to fix the issue. Sir thanks a lot to you and your lovely community!
really glad that these discussions started and people find different ways, although im not keen on the pressure method, in electronic there are no parts that need pressure for it to work :)))
Thank goodness for this channel! Saved me $200 buying a new toothbrush. Confirming, as others have said, that you don't necessarily need to replace the fuse. You can just push on the fuse with a screw driver while pushing the power button and it will come back to life. Thank you so much for posting this video!!
Might be due to the contact resistance being a bit higher because of poor soldering quality from the manufacturer. For a more robust solution, heat the pins with a soldering iron with the fuse being pressed lightly so the contact quality is better. Do not turn on the device while soldering!
Before you buy a new fuse, just apply some pressure on the fuse with a small screw driver, it pushes in and works again. It worked for me at least. If doesnt help, just remove the fuse and connect 2 points without fuse, it will work just fine.
Pushing down the fuse fixed my issue as well. Thanks for sharing! Although I have a feeling it is not a long term fix but that’s a problem for another day.
Interesting fix with the pressure.. if not much to ask could you update your comment if or when it dies again. This would be very interesting experiment..

You're a king, @sebastianmller4544. I pressed on the fuse with no luck, but then, per your advice, turned on the toothbrush, while applying pressure, and it came back to life!
My friend, you have given me a victory over this Genius x! This isnmy second one that died. I finally decided to follow your steps and i was successful! These other viewers are right. the fuse must come loose over time because when i applied down force to the fuse, it kicked on! It must pop up as a common issue with this toothbursh. I thank you for your guidance and for this video! God bless!!
Thank you very much Sir for this video you have uploaded, its very helpful and practically applicable to my Oral B Genius X toothbrush. I've only used my unit for just a year when i've suddenly experienced this malfunction in my unit, i bought it brand new and yet i experienced this unlikely trouble but thank God, your here to save my day and because you've uploaded a video like this - i'd been saved to pay expensive repairs from any technicians.
It's unbelievable how much information we have freely accessible in these days ;) but it's nothing if there is no will to use it. Glad you used it, Good luck and keep on learning!

Hi, thank you so much for this video. Can you tell me where can I get these fuses, and is it possible to glue the fuse with super glue or something? Sorry, I don't know
Thank you for sharing this information. I have a feeling this is a common issue for all these similar models. My first Genius x 10000 died the same way but it was under warranty so they gave me a replacement. Now less than a year later the replacement failed the same way. I was able to revive my toothbrush with your video so thanks again.
I can feel with you. I bought more than 2 years ago a double package with one black and one white version of this toothbrush. My black I changed in warranty already 2 times. Always the same problem. The white one was also not working and I get new one. But yesterday the same problem. That means in sum in 2 years 4 toothbrushes was broken. This is really a bad joke for such expensive version.
Absolutely EPIC! had this problem last night, similar that I thought it would be the battery. Popped it open, tried to press the fuse but it wouldnt work. Pressed it on and then pressed the fuse down and now its back to its original self. Thanks a ton for the video
Glad it helped, let us know if it will fails but I saw some comments that stated that this fixed the brush permanently for them.. although I would not trust that kind of crushed fuse to perform its function..
@@letsfixitgarage Sorry, I never noticed that you responded here. I wouldn't say the fuse is crushed. I think all I did is just made the soldered connection stronger by pushing it back down. I would guess that the vibration of this toothbrush has been slowly separating it over 3 years of use. ...I think.
Well if there is a micro crack in solder point it needs to be resoldered. And only resoldering never worked in my case. That's why I suspect that fuse itself is damaged and if you push on the solder points it would regain the contact only for that time. When you use the brush there is a lot of vibrations that would break it again.. don't get me wrong I'm glad that a lot of people getting second life for their brushes but if the motor would short (quite implausible) I would not trust that kind of fuse to do its job. Just my 5 cents :) and thanks for your feedback!
Hi, thank you so much for this video. Can you tell me where can I get these fuses, and is it possible to glue the fuse with super glue or something? Sorry, I don't know
This fixed my problem. I had the same issues. Battery was fully charged lights up, but as soon as I push the power button, it just light it up and no vibration. I removed that little PP fuse and solder the two points together using a drop of solder and it worked, thank you so much for posting this saved me some money
This repair definitely works but I would suggest to get a fuse. They are there for purpose as motors don't have brushes but metal spring like wires that are touching rotor it can weld to it and short circuit motor where fuse should step in...
Thanks! My toothbrush was replaced 3 times during 1.5 years . The warranty lasted for 2 years and 1 month after it just stopped working again. I have looked on youtube for some adviced and found this one. As I have no experience with electronics I just used a screwdriver to press on the fuse and it just magically started to work. Now lets see how much it will last.
I'm really surprised with this pressure fix. Really indicates a fuse manufacturing problem... If not much to ask let us know if it holds. I believe had one commenter that fuse failed after few weeks and one that holder permanently (or he didn't reply when it failed) ;)
little push from the side of the fuse with a small screw driver fixed my issue as well. . If not for your video I wouldn't have known what the fuse and where it is placed. Thank you so much for sharing. I had this problem in two toothbrushes. Both are working now. Thank you again for saving a lot of money.
Welp! Here I am. Same problem as everybody else. Watched your video, ordered the fuses and then I started to read all of the comments. I tried the pressure thing on the fuse and that didn't work and then I kept reading. I too heated up the fuse a little bit here and there just for the heck of it. Once I let it cool down I tested it and it works great again. I know you have responded that it probably isn't a good fix but I figured what the heck. We are going to run a test. Today is December 19th 2022. I will return here and comment when or if it goes bad again before I mess with a new fuse. Thanks for the video
Thanks for your comment. Did you heat it up with hot air or soldering iron? Do update us on your findings! it's unbelievable that this defect occures in the first place...
@@letsfixitgarage Like I said. I did order new fuses but when went to take old fuse out I was like..... my tip isn't that small! I read someone elses comment and tried it. I just put my oversized tip on the fuse a couple times in a couple different places. Still goin
I also fixed my Genius-X by heating up the fuse with a soldering iron. I assume the fuse isn't broken at all. It is more likely a bad soldering connection which breaks at some point due to the vibration. By heating up the fuse the connection gets "refreshed". In case it happens again I will just remove the fuse and short circuit the thing.
Difficult to say I tried to resolder some of them but no luck. That's why I replace all the fuses when I repair these brushes. I'm really confused that someone succeeds in repairing them by pressing or heating up. Still don't understand why these fuses fail in the first place...
Thank you I did all of what you mentioned except as other users have mentions I applied pressure to the fuse box named' pp' hard enough until the brush came back to life, saved me £80
I'm from Russia, for some reason we have such a massive breakdown. Thanks to you, I have learned how to eliminate it. I divide it easier, instead of a fuse, a drop of solder.
Hi, thank you so much for this video. Can you tell me where can I get these fuses, and is it possible to glue the fuse with super glue or something? Sorry, I don't know
Amazing bro! I found by pushing the fuse in even with my thumbnail it worked, I then just firmly pressed it again with a screw driver... For those who are looking for the fuse without watchin this its got a little PP on it, just push that badboy down small black rectangle looking thing
Your Video is awesome! Exactly the Problem i was having and additional info in comments (pressing down the fuse and resetting the microcontroller helped lots). I now have a working toothbrush again for 0€. Thanks all!!!
@@Furkonizm Look for the comment from @pwrgreg007. Find the microcontroller (big square chip. way its places looks like diamond shape above the white cover for the LEDs). Using your multimeter in continuity go ahead and ground that copper pad at the corner/edge of the circuit board clockwise from pin 1(which is located where the little dot is on top of this microcontroller chip) connecting to the reset_pin (35) , toothbrush will work again.

@@letsfixitgarage I have seen one comment stating a couple of months. But I tried it as a first quick fix. It will hold up as long as it can. Once a fuse has given up, all fixed with the same fuse are short term. So replacing it is the most viable way to go. Next time it fails, I will get it replaced 🙂
Works but I would suggest to get a fuse as other commentator said fuses are there for a reason.. and do take in mind that not to experienced people read these comments and think afterwards that this is acceptable repair... And then we get stories about burning electric scooters and upcoming government bans on them.. wouldn't like to hear a story that some user got burned while his repaired toothbrush got on fire :) I'm exaggerating but sh** happens

Electronics and heating usually doesnt work together :) glad it's working for you, but I would suggest getting a replacement fuse for the near future ;)
I followed the video and I just had the soldering iron touched the pp element on both ends without removing them. Guess what? It is working again. Thanks for the video!
It's always nice when something get repaired unintentionally:) I would thou nu a fuse and have it at hand as electronic component that comes back to life after heating is usually not in a best state :)
Thanks for the video! Managed to get one with leds lighting up and 1 sec of motor action working by compressing the PP fuse. After one use, the whole brush died, no action at all. The microcontroller (TI CC2640) can be reset by grounding pin no. 35. I used a 1k resistor to ground it on the motor ground. Brush woke up instantly. Now testing to see whether it works long-term. I suspect that something is failing on the board. This brush has been abused a bit and it has a crack on the body, but no obvious liquid damage is visible.

Sorry was replying to a lot of similar comments haven't noticed that this comment is only 24h old :) hope it will hold if you will remember do let us know if this method worked or did you needed to replace the fuse after all..
I'll definetely report. Planned to order the correct Bourns fuse and the motor mosfet whenever i have enough stuff to order somewhere. Probably the brush OS not going to fail then 😂.
I had this problem about two years ago. At the time I didn't see this video or the "push down on the fuse" fix. I replaced the fuse with a piece of 30-gauge wire-wrap wire. The fuse is likely there to protect from the motor locking up. With a lithium-ion battery it could catch fire if there's a short-circuit, so using a heavier short for the fuse is not a good idea. That fixed it. I measured 1.042 amps when connecting battery + directly to motor +. Now the thing is totally dead, it quit during use. I have four volts at the battery and across the power switch. The switch works. Anyone know of how to fix it in this condition? Are there any other fuses, or a way to reset the micro-controller?
I was poking around measuring what I thought was a current-sense resistor but I'm not sure. The unit is now working. It could be that I reset the MCU somehow, or it just reset itself.
I got some more information on the Oral B 3771. The MCU is the Texas Instruments CC2640R2F running on 3.3V. Reset is on pin 35, but there's a pad you can ground to reset it. Look for the pad near the corner clockwise from pin 1. By grounding this pad, I got it working again. The data sheet is available on the TI website. Pretty impressive chip! Bluetooth capability is built into this MCU. 3.3V can be measured on the pad to the right of the fuses. The board's build date code is above this, along the top edge, next to a lower-case "c".
Yes that's exactly why I recommend replacing it with a fuse and not short it or press on it.. thanks for explaining it to people who reads comments. By the way answer to your problem is between comments as well :) some other commenter has found out the pin order on the MCU as well and shared it with the public ;) thanks for repeating it again!
Hi Let it fix garage. This video was very helpful. I‘m not the expert to solder. The greatest challenge was to find someone to solder the fuse. The electritian will just solder it out and just want to bridge it. I hope it will be alright.
7:47 what is the voltage after the second smaller fuse? Mine shows a drop to about 1.3 volt after the smaller fuse from the ca 4 volt battery-voltage after the bigger fuse. (I have one that is dead, neither lamps nor any switch working but that the motor and its different modes are startable through an easy touch over a resistor in the vicinity of the fuse you changed)
@@letsfixitgarage I have packed it somewhere and as soon as I find it I will try it. I was not aware that the part was a fuse before I saw your video, and actually pondered if fuses never had resistance. I will let you know the "test" when I have found the brush. Thanks!
Thank you so much! Me and my dad took it apart and he said the solder was really bad on a few of the points. He just reheated the solder on the fuse I think… just a bad connection. It’s lasted for 2 weeks absolutely fine so far! Thanks so much for your video!
Glad it was helpful and you had quality time with your father :) yes sometimes it can be a micro crack on the solder, but this fuse is failing to often in my opinion.. but if it fails you now know how to proceed ;)
Thanks, just fixed my Genius 20,000, instead of fuse I placed one thread of multithread wire and sorted the fuse. (in any case, I bought the new io10 🙂)
Really appreciated your video here. Same symptoms for me, toothbrush might rotate for 2-3 seconds but would stop, then nothing for several minutes or even wait overnight to get any life again. In my case I applied a bit of pressure to the 'PP' fuse to see if there was any physical connection problem and sure enough, this 'fixed' my problem. So I believe I had a cold solder joint. And with the high vibration of these motors you might expect this to happen with some units. I don't have smd tip or tweezers for my soldering station, but I used my smallest tip and added just a small amount of fresh solder to the fuse pads. Seems to be working for me for a couple days so far. Thanks again.
My brush would run for a second or two, slow down and stop. I found that polyfuse marked PP was dropping about 3 volts in the stopped condition. PP is a Bourns MF-PSML300/6-2 0805 rated 3A. Bypass PP with a multimeter set to DC current, the brush runs and the meter reads 0.5A so my fuse must be faulty. I bridged the fuse with solder and it works now.
Yes saw similar dying fuse behaviour as well. I would replace the fuse with some similar smal fuse.. bridging is ok to test the concept but fuses are there for a reason :)
Regarding 3A not sure it's needed.. If I remember correctly under load the motor was something in 300ma range.. tested it with these fuses that I had on hand (rated 2A but haven't tested) it worked fine so that's the only experience I have to share :)
Thanks a lot, I desoldered the fuse and instead short-circuited the two pads and now it's working again 😁. As you point out in some comments adding a new fuse is better but I guess the risks involved are fairly low
Thanks for a good word and for reading the comments. Yes it works, as for risks low probability burned motherboard.. very very very low probability burned toothbrush or even bathroom while you sleep. Then fire department investigates that the culprit is Braun toothbrush, news catches the story, Braun finds this comment and sues you for millions because you damaged their name.. well you get the Idea and my Imagination :D moral of the story is always use protection and even better: a good one, not like Braun ;) just joking ;)
@@letsfixitgarage wauw your imagination escalated to a horror scenario really quickly! I had actually been thinking about burning. My thought was that it only seems power to the motor etc while I am actually using the toothbrush. No power goes to the motor when I'm not using it. The toothbrush is right under my nose when I'm using it. So I should smell any problems rather quickly. That fuse is really tiny and I doubt I have the skills to solder a new one on.

I literally can't believe it, but applying pressure worked for me too. I'll definitely come back if it winds up failing, since this brush is now literally double the price I paid only 3 years ago.
Hi, thank you so much for this video. Can you tell me where can I get these fuses, and is it possible to glue the fuse with super glue or something? Sorry, I don't know
Have some fuses in the description of the video although the links are quite old can't find the time to update them., but you can find some type suggestions there, go for 2A fuses and sadly superglue will not work you need to solder them in..
I believe the links have changed quite a lot... Still haven't found the time to go through them, a lot of work at the moment.. I would suggest 1A or 2A both will do the job 1A is more on the safe side but 2A should save the motor as well if something unexpected happens..
Thank you so much for this video. I have one question I have same toothbrush and when I opened it I saw lots of rust soecialy on the motor part. How can I clean them? Thanks!
difficult to say how dirty it is but usually rust on the outside of the motor doesn't affect its performance. just clean any loose rust with a brush, blow it with compressed air and it should be fine. problem is why you have rust inside.. if all seals are in tact it should be dry and rust-free.. look where water is getting in..
Everyone who bypassed the fuse have there been any issues? Blown up toothbrush, bathroom, house, city? I just bypassed with blob of solder. I dont have the skill or good enough equipment to solder a new fuse so hoping to leave it. Thanks for the vid got me working again.
That's nightmare scenario :) there is not that much energy in the battery to do that kind off chaos..my gues would be burned toothbrush inside the case doubt that it would escape in to the outside..and if something happens it should happen when you are using it, as it's motor fuse, so you should have plenty of time to react...
Hi I have the exact same problem. Connected both ends with a pliers and the motor started working. I took out the fuse before my new fuse arrived. made a bridge just to see if it worked but now i can't get any lights on the brush? maybe I damaged something while taking the fuse? What is the next component after the fuse? I can see 4 volts reach the component labbeled E (i asusme it is next after the fuse) any tips for trying to find out might be wrong? Thank you
Look for the comment. It had quite a lot of comments shouldn't be hidden.. simply said the test point is on the right to the main chip but the comment had much more detailed description how to find it.
@@letsfixitgarage I read pretty much all the comments and couldn't find it. Perhaps it has been deleted. But I found another comment of yours that said that all you had to do was to put ground on the test point of the the main chip and it worked. Thanks.

thanks for the feedback. will update the links shortly but in principle just look for similar size fuse with 1-2A rating will be much better safety as the squished fuse or a solder short ;)
Hello - Thanks very helpful. I have the same symptoms as you say while during diagnosis with multimeter suddenly lights turned off and I am no longer able to turn it on. Do you have idea what could be the reason- is it possible that it is still the same fuse only? I feel like I created some short circuit or so…
It's difficult to diagnose remotely.. the fuse that I explained was responsible only for powering the motor. Toothbrush itself was functioning.. if it went out while diagnosing I can only assume that some component was shorted out with probes.. check battery voltage both fuses and go from there...
Hello, i have the Same Problem...my one was just turning for a few seconds and after open it nothing is work. But where is the seconds fuse? That is the third Genius with a fault and now i haven't warranty any more.

Sorry don't understand what you mean with power but made some experiments and usualy consumption is 200-600ma so fuse for 1A should be sufficient I usually put 2A fuse.

Thanks, I ordered some fuses but they ended up not fitting, but when I tested the old fuse with a multimeter it showed continuity, so I soldered it back on and it's working now, for how long I don't know, but for now it does.
I would sugest to look for smaller fuses as this one will not hold for to loong.. and yes these fuses are very small and requires some tools and skill to resolder..
I broke the seal that’s at the top of the plastic that lights up when using a clamp to unseal it. Needed minimal pressure. Is there somewhere I can get a replacement?
I removed my fuse, as pressing it didn't help, and then tried bridging the fuse net endpoints with solder, but now the lights won't turn on. Maybe I was too forceful? Appreciate any advice!
I was able to fix it myself by just pushing on the fuse. It had already been repaired previously by Oral-B but it is no longer under warranty. I assume Oral-B changed the fuse during repair because my fuse had an N on it…not a PP
my impression was that Braun was not repairing them just replacing with a new one.. maybe a new modification of the fuse is in the production.. but then again it shouldn't fail in that case.. :)
Hi, thanks for the video! Me and my Dad both bought toothbrushes at the same time and I’m about to move out and mine broke. 😂 The pressure “fix” worked for me thankfully. Could using this fuse until failure cause any further damage? And how would I know the fuse has failed completely? Would it just not work? Sorry for the questions lol
difficult to say how crushed electronic component will perform :) some commenters said that it was heating up strongly, for some it just stopped working after some time.

Everything worked until I put the brush back together... now nothing, dark, dead. Battery charged, no lights, no charging. What could have happened? Regards

Might be due to the contact resistance being a bit higher because of poor soldering quality from the manufacturer. For a more robust solution, heat the pins with a soldering iron with the fuse being pressed lightly so the contact quality is better. Do not turn on the device while soldering!

If only I would get 1 cent for every.... Oh wait that's the case! Just joking 😅 really appreciate your support! Thanks a lot! 👍

Thanks a ton for making this video and thank you to all the people that commented on pressing the fuse in while the toothbrush is on. At 1am, with no backup toothbrush, this video and comments saved me.
Thank you to the people who suggested pressing on the fuse because it worked so well I actually scared me! I’m now going to try the same thing on my daughter’s toothbrush Thank you Let’s Fix It Garage for showing so clearly how to open up the toothbrush casing
How is this repair method holding? I always suggest replacing the fuse but I see big portion of comments stating that this method works, not much on how long it lasts..
Same here. I've replaced 4 under warranty. All failing within a year. Surprise oral b doesn't fix this if it's getting such a high failure rate!
Super. It works like a charm. This is the original fuse: MF-PSML300/6-2, PPTC SMD POLYMER PTC 3.0A/6.
Absolutely EPIC! had this problem last night, similar that I thought it would be the battery. Popped it open, tried to press the fuse but it wouldnt work. Pressed it on and then pressed the fuse down and now its back to its original self. Thanks a ton for the video
Pressing on the fuse worked for me! We'll see how long it lasts... Thank you for your video!
I removed that little PP fuse
and solder the two points together using a drop of solder and it worked, thank you so much for posting this saved me some money
Me too! We should sue Braun!
it helps me too))) just pushed on fuse by screwdriver and it started to work.
little push from the side of the fuse with a small screw driver fixed my issue as well.
Followed the procedure, pressed down on the fuse and it all works fine! Thank you very much!
Thank you so much ☺️ I just pressed the fuse with a screwdriver, and everything thing was OK again 😁
Thank you I did all of what you mentioned except as other users have mentions I applied pressure to the fuse box named' pp' hard enough until the brush came back to life, saved me £80
Gald it helped! Do let us know if it will hold or will it fail after some time.. thanks!

Thanks for the beer :) glad this video saves people real money!

Sorry, I don't know
Look at the Description. No, you can‘t glue it.
Thank you - pressing "pp" worked for me.
Amazing bro! I found by pushing the fuse in even with my thumbnail it worked, I then just firmly pressed it again with a screw driver... For those who are looking for the fuse without watchin this its got a little PP on it, just push that badboy down small black rectangle looking thing

How to reset microcontroller?
@@Furkonizm Look for the comment from @pwrgreg007. Find the microcontroller (big square chip. way its places looks like diamond shape above the white cover for the LEDs). Using your multimeter in continuity go ahead and ground that copper pad at the corner/edge of the circuit board clockwise from pin 1(which is located where the little dot is on top of this microcontroller chip) connecting to the reset_pin (35) , toothbrush will work again.
This video just saved me 200$, pried it open and applied some light pressure on the pp fuse and it started to work.
Amazing! pressing down reasonably hard with a blunt object on the fuse also fixed mine!
hi, any update if this repair is hoding up?
Had to open the toothbrush again and press harder - that did it! Still working.

Thanks for the video 🙂
Tried the first fix with pressing on the fuse with the tip of my nail. Works so far 👍
How is this repair method holding? I always suggest replacing the fuse but I see big portion of comments stating that this method works, not much on how long it holds..
Thx from czech republic! It´s working. You save my money.
Thanks for the video. Managed to fix my toothbrush with a piece of wire.
It would not be wise to remove the fuse. It is there for safety reasons
Works but I would suggest to get a fuse as other commentator said fuses are there for a reason.. and do take in mind that not to experienced people read these comments and think afterwards that this is acceptable repair...
I Pressed the fuse and worked it! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Glad it helped. although I'm still baffled with this pressure of fuse.. tried this multiple times and it newer worked :))))
How is this repair method holding? I always suggest replacing the fuse but I see big portion of comments stating that this method works, not much on how long it holds..

@@CharlesBronson111 Glad to hear, Happy to be able to help!
I have never used the Bluetooth on this toothbrush. Is it punishing me for that? 🙂
@@pwrgreg007 your detailed comment coupled with some googling saved the day! Thank you so much. Happy new year to everyone here!
Hi Let it fix garage. This video was very helpful. I‘m not the expert to solder. The greatest challenge was to find someone to solder the fuse.
The electritian will just solder it out and just want to bridge it. I hope it will be alright.
Well it will work, but if there will be some problems in future with motor, more things can brake without a fuse..
Thanks for the video, I was able to solve the problem just by applying some pressure on the fuse.
Glad it helped, although I would recommend to replace it with a working fuse..
It worked for me too ❤ Thanks for video 💪
Me has ahorrado tener que comprar un cepillo nuevo. Muchas gracias.
Well fuse shouldn't have no resistance and no voltage drops. Try to short it out with tweezers and see if brush comes back to life..
Glad it was helpful and you had quality time with your father :) yes sometimes it can be a micro crack on the solder, but this fuse is failing to often in my opinion.. but if it fails you now know how to proceed ;)
funnily enough it has just failed again!! At least it lasted a few more weeks! Will have to replace the fuse as you said!@@letsfixitgarage
Nice! leave an update after a month or few to know if it was a permanent solution for you.
Any update on your Oral B Genius X? Exactly what you're describing has started happening to mine and i'm considering popping it open.
Did the same. Works for me as well
Fuse is dying. I would replace it but of course you can try the pressure method..
This worked for me for a few months but the problem happened again
@@letsfixitgarage Getting hold of a replacement fuse is not easy, neither is soldering it.
I have few links in description for the fuses, they are not OEM but seems to hold ok. And yes it needs some practice with these small components..
@@letsfixitgarage The ones in the description are rather expensive and are not rated 3A ...
Thanks for the video! Helped to save mine toothbrush.
Link to soldering iron is dead. Could you post name or photo please of soldering iron you use?
thanks for the feedback. will update all the links this week.
@@letsfixitgarage what fuses do you use? 2a? First link is 0.75A 750MA will it work?
@@letsfixitgarage thanks! 💯🙋♂️

The base cover flaps that click in have broken off. Any tips where can I order this spare part ?
Sometimes to buy a broken donor brush on eBay is easier then look for new part ;)
Thank you. It's been nearly a week now using every day and did a full charge. All good so far.
Hi I have the exact same problem. Connected both ends with a pliers and the motor started working. I took out the fuse before my new fuse arrived. made a bridge just to see if it worked but now i can't get any lights on the brush? maybe I damaged something while taking the fuse? Thanks for the movie. Could you please add the correct name of the fuse? the second ali link is down and the first one does not have a 2A anymore.
thanks for the feedback. will update the links shortly but in principle just look for similar size fuse with 1-2A rating will be much better safety as the squished fuse or a solder short ;)

Glad it was helpful, Good luck!
Good video. Thanks for posting. However my toothbrush will start and run for 5 seconds or less. It has a full charge. So what do you think?
The same issue. It starts by lower and lower run time and then dies completely. Replace the fuse and it will be fine.

Hi can you help me .? I have similar problem. I replaced the battery and the brush is working.but it's doesn't charging.i see the the the copper wire was cut.i connected him but the the brush doesn't working but it's charging. The light are on but the brush doesn't work. Do you have an idea what can I do?
Have you replaced the fuse or just pressed on it? Maybe the initial problem returned..
Thank you mine is working now
you are our hero
Thanks, I ordered some fuses but they ended up not fitting, but when I tested the old fuse with a multimeter it showed continuity, so I soldered it back on and it's working now, for how long I don't know, but for now it does.
I would sugest to look for smaller fuses as this one will not hold for to loong.. and yes these fuses are very small and requires some tools and skill to resolder..
It stopped working again, I might try to find a new fuse that fits this time
How is it that the same motor has more torque on this model and less on vitality model?😊
Difficult to say but it can be that older toothbrush acumulates some toothpaste near the shaft that slows it down..
thank you so much, you saved me 200$!, for now I just pushed the fuse down and it worked! any idea where we could find a remplacement part?
Not sure if I already replied to your other comment but check video description, have few fuses linked.
I broke the seal that’s at the top of the plastic that lights up when using a clamp to unseal it. Needed minimal pressure. Is there somewhere I can get a replacement?
don't think so.. braun is refusing any spare parts for these or IO brushes.. So your best chance is second hand platforms like ebay..
Thank you so much!
what is the specific name of the 2 amp fuse please. I cannot find your replacement part online
link under video seems to work or what is the problem?
Hello, yesterday I repaired two such brushes, there was no need to replace the fuses, the solder joints were cold, I just had to re-solder them. Everything worked until I put the brush back together... now nothing, dark, dead. Battery charged, no lights, no charging. What could have happened? Regards
Try to shorten the fuse with metallic tweezers.. I had fuses that show continuity but it already has to high resistance and it's not working.. that's why I always replace the fuse with different type..
