Me, too! I’m replacing my broken window with plexiglass right now. I ordered the plexi from Amazon because it costs much more at my small town lumber yard and the closest a big box store is 175 miles away. I have 4 broken windows to fix.
Thank you, I have two windows broken, boys playing ... I was going too pay someone to do it.. butt after watching you think I'll do it myself .. Thanks again
I just replaced mine after watching your video. It was a double pane full of moisture. I went back with a thicker single pane of acrylic. It's been in over a week now and looking good. We enjoy being able to see out clearly. Thanks again for the video.
Thank You for this , my neighbors kids broke all my garage windows with a bb gun playing around , not smiling, and this is inexpensive way for me for 5 windows !!!
Great Video. What was the thickness of the plexiglass. I looked at some pieces and the 1/16 th thickness looked flimsy and may not be the best choice. They did not have the 1/8 thickness. The cost of glass is half the price of the plexiglass.
Is this considered temporary or permanent? If permanent what about hazing or scuffing over time with heat and wind and rain? Will this remain nice and clear?
You need a net...then you can also sell golf balls to people...I lived right next to the 9th hole once...house looked like it had been shelled...by like mortars! But, it was stucco.
Hi. I live in Deltona Florida where hurricane blew out my back porch windows. Do you have an email address or a number close by so I can call to get plexiglass put in
4 years later it’s scratched to shit and hazy. NEVER install plexi/ polycarbonate unless you absolutely have to. Waste of time and money. For the price of that plastic he could’ve went to any glass shop and picked up a piece of 1/8 glass for the same price.
@@chicanopride67 Should have used a 3M anchor adhesive, usually used to anchor security film and plexiglass to frames. Works incredibly well. Dow Corning 995.
Thank you so much for this video! I’m a single mom and tired of waiting for things to be done on other people’s schedules! I subscribed!
I feel the same way. Did you replace it!? I see there's different thicknesses not sure which one to get for a window

Me too trying to find a way to fix without blowing $! Thanks a bunch!
My father told me the same thing, measure twice, cut once. Awesome. Thank you for the video.
Thank you, I came home to grandkids issue like yours, and your attitude made me calm. Easy peasy!
Thank you for your video! I was scared to try to do this on my own. Watching you do it makes me less scared. Thank you!
Wow thanks I have to replace a window just like that with the same molding but im going to use silicone like you did..thanks for the video.

Thanks, you gave me a great idea to my patio window problem.
thanks very informative, well presented, much appreciated
do you by any chance home depot replace glass for you if u bring in the frame of a cabinet door..
What if I have trim about the window? It’s a mini door window. Should I immediately reinstall the trim? Or let the sealant set first?
Oh god I hope I can do this 😭 I broke the window and I’m trying to fix it before my husband knows
Me right now 🙃😂
Did your hubby ever find out?

How thick is the acrylic you purchased?
Thanks for the informative video. I'd like to do the same with a window. Is the plexi the same thickness as the original glass?

Thanks for the video tho it helped me on a window I had to fix 👍
Thank you so much for sharing..I'm gonna attempt to replace mine
Hi! How thick is the flexiglass?
Great Video. What was the thickness of the plexiglass. I looked at some pieces and the 1/16 th thickness looked flimsy and may not be the best choice. They did not have the 1/8 thickness. The cost of glass is half the price of the plexiglass.
Yeah plexiglass is pricey but if you don’t want to mess with glass then plexiglass is the way to go. I recommend 1/4 inch thick plexiglass.
Is this considered temporary or permanent? If permanent what about hazing or scuffing over time with heat and wind and rain? Will this remain nice and clear?
thanx for posting this, but that tube to caulk with, "silicone for plastic shit' ? i didn't quite catch that
Thank you great job
How is it holding up after a couple years?
Good job Charlie!
Hey Thanks, great VIDEO. I can do that!.....I hope...!
Would this be considered against code?
What kind of caulk?
nice video! thanks! messure twice cut once!! Yah Bless!
Can you add this over existing window pane? Trying to find a way to stop window breakage from Golf balls
I would use wire mesh over window.
Don't aim at the window dummy
Lexan would be ideal, it has 200 times the strength of glass and resists yellowing.

Thank you for sharing! The plexiglas looks great!
That’s a really good alternative to glass. What thickness is that. Only thing I noticed is it seems a bit thin

5:55 here is the silicone 4 plastic shit....lol
carlos velez 😂🤣😃😄😅😁😀😆😉😊🤗👍☝️🤘🤙👌✌🤞👈
good idea break proof!
We don't have any broken glass window yet but knowing how to replace it if the glass broke, is a good idea. I copied your video. Thanks. Asian Mom.
Very nice, I need some1 to do that at my home????
Ty soo muchh
Clear silicone works best
Lmfao.. doing it on glass I was. Waiting for the table to break ... when you pounded through the thing
In the wise words of Lou from Over the Hedge. " I don't think this guy is really a doctor..."
Wow
Perfect
Use butyl tape instead!
Why didn't Home Depot cut the glass for you?
Now it's easy to break in your house. all you need is push the plexiglass and your in no sound.
not easy if you instal motion sensors, and security cameras thats wifi ready, and alerted by motion.
and when did a window ever stop a thief, or a locked door for that matter.. visible security set ups and bullets stop crime..
Take the frame out and have Ace Hardware replace the glass for a permanent fix, should be under a 100 dollars for single pane glass
Cold have patched half the window

Yes, but if you live on a golf course, you'll be replacing windows daily.
@@AJoyofDesign Agreed!
Regular glass IS NOT cost effective if you have property in a rough part of time, where it's constantly being broken!
108k view means 108k windows broken and repaired lol
🤣🤣🤣
Temporary fix, but tell me that’s not permanent.
it will fall out sooner than later, silicone does not adhere to acrylic
@@chicanopride67 Should have used a 3M anchor adhesive, usually used to anchor security film and plexiglass to frames. Works incredibly well. Dow Corning 995.
You want polycarbonate it’s much stronger than plexiglass
Definitely not 50 bucks no more
Lol this guy don't knows what he doin🤔😁😅😅
I guess not..
