@@elcristianodeacero3138This was a Shangri La Dee Da outake, this has nothing to do with 12 Bar Blues or even the 1999 solo stuff with Big Blue Missile
I'm surprised Rob never revisited this sound. I LOVE Perdida but none of the songs have that latin vibe STP would tinker with. His solo album was also much more country themed than latin. Its like how they never made a super hard song away from Scott again. It always stood out to me
Picking a favorite STP tune is near impossible, but I'd go with "Glide." Although this is really up there as well. Plus it's a b-side, how many have a-sides as good as this?
I love this song. All these amazing chords put together in amazing ways. But the lyrics are devastating. I sorry you had to suffer so much in life, Scott.
Hard time is never long enough To keep my head afloat and my feet are stuck in the mud again I’m getting old and my money's been spent Tryin’ hard was never good enough I’ve got a lot to learn and she’s walkin’ right out the door again I’m torn in two and I don’t see the end You can always buy a new lie When yours is finally over Either way you'll find a new life When yours is finally over Don’t think I ever changed at all, my dear And you'll see when I'm right and here's when I'm wrong, but still I kick myself in the face once again Sometimes I think that I can kill the world If just for a day but I'd just be stuck with myself again And I don't think I wanna be my only friend You can always buy a new lie When yours is finally over Either way you'll find a new life When yours is finally over
i feel like the third verse sounds different that the lyrics everywhere else says... to me it sounds like "dont think i havent changed at all, i do believe i see when i am right, and yes we're wrong".....
It is inevitable for me to listen to Scott's lyrics and think about all the traumas and difficulties he had to endure in his life, and how his music seemed to be his only therapy, until one day it simply stopped working and went off.
Good question... It could be deemed to be about his drug habit. He wrote lots on that but they're so well written they transcend his own issues... "Hard time was never long enough" sounds like a prison reference. Pruno on No4 was about him getting locked up to help him. I dunno... It's there to be interpreted... For me it's, THE heartache song. It will always be the one that reminds me of the girl that got away. I first heard it when I was falling in love with her and after things went badly wrong I had to leave it alone for years... I can play it again now though. Time heals.

Robert Deleo is a sophisticated songwriter. He has this idea of transforming bossa nova into rock and roll. Complex chords are his trade mark.
Couldn't agree more 👏🏿
Robert? This sounds like a 12 Bar blues song.

I watched an interview with him, over an hour long...one of the most interesting conversations I've enjoyed.
Interstate love song was born the same way
Scott you are sorely missed. This is by far one of STP best songs.
Agreed on both things!

It's hands down my most favorite song by them!
We're in a minority but we know it's their best song...

Dean DeLeo's slide solos are always so sparingly short. No choice but to play the song over and over to get more of it.
Truth.
I’m according with you
😂 so true
If only this was on spotify..
It's on the last album "self titled album" deluxe edition, but its only avaliable in some countries.
Let's hope this goes oficially released in the Shangri La De Daa 25th aniversary...
It’s not on iTunes either!
That's not fair 😕 😢
no dislikes.. bless this
very underrated song
'you can always buy a new lie, when yours is finally over,
either way you'll find a new life, when yours is finally over....'
I still never figured out why this song was pretty much completely scrubbed from anywhere this album was available.

Brilliant.
Masterpiece.
Shangri la outtake,perfect
One of my favorite songs from them.
Love this song
I've been a die hard fan since 92. How did I never hear this song? Crazy man, what a great tune. Was this around 2002?
I’m pretty sure the original was around 99’ and this version was 2010. Don’t quote me on that but this one is the newer version
Genios 👍👍
beautiful!
The solo
Sometimes I think that I can kill the world If just for a day, but I'd just be stuck with myself again. And I don't think I wanna be my only friend...
very clean 💎
2:16 beautiful
what a cool song! this one's cleaner than the 'aliceinchainhead' version- but that's a great channel! subscribe today!
Sin duda Scott Weiland tenía una voz impresionante que la podía moldear y engañarme que el no cantaba este tema.
Mi rola favorita del álbum.
Tom jobim, João Gilberto, Baden Powell, Johnny Alf...entre outros...
😭
Amazing. That's all
I wonder if this song was written about someone in particular or if it's just about failed relationships,
