Such incredibly pretty countryside scenery! It keeps occurring to me that horses were original climbers on those hills. Thinking views prior to any engine-powered traveling. So, inviting seeing the homes, churches and old buildings, as also if historically back in time. Thank you all three for sharing your tour with viewers!
Slovenia wasn't my first choice. I think it was Kelsey who was really big on it. Slovenia has become very "western" but still seems like it has more of that old world feel that is gradually being replaced elsewhere. It's a real gem!
such a bad piece of luck there. it doesn’t rain often in the karst region and it makes such a big difference, not just the ride itself which is obvious, but the special karst colors of the sky give a much different feel to the entire region… the landscape (and particularly the sky) was a big inspiration for local and (famous) artists from other parts of europe… also respect to your endurance. what seems to be a pretty short ride on the map, it’s actually pretty tough because it constantly goes up and down, even though there aren’t any big climbs on the plateau itself. lovely video!
Thank you! Part of the thrill, or part of the reason I find bike touring to be such a fulfilling experience, is that you have to deal with difficult situations. We all want to escape hardship, it's our nature, but getting out there makes for a totally new and fresh experience. It enriches life, even if we don't really want to be out there riding in the rain, it becomes a gorgeous memory. Another great thing about bike touring (or traveling in general) is you can ride through the same route on a different day and it will be a completely different experience. Thanks for your comments!
I actually think this trip proved that to me. I was thinking about this in terms of our upcoming trip through Europe. I tend to worry about weather. But like you said at one point (maybe in the last video) once you're wet, it's freeing. I never felt uncomfortable or hampered by all the rain we encountered, it was just part of the adventure.
Excellent point! I kept admiring just how beautiful the scenery was, WHILE.., the struggling to keep riding in the rain! I want to ride IN the rain to enjoy scenery and wildlife while "owning" the bicycle path! LOL! Have fairing and poncho that BOTH connect directly onto my Hase Lepus, with 25-inch seat height! Want rain-proof capable cage for my small dog riding buddy too! LOL.
Salut Roland, Sadly my previous comment didn’t make it 😕 It appeared briefly and then got vaporized. Apparently, YT algorithm doesn’t like me citing any PMID number pointing to the abstract of a scientific study freely available to the public at the National Library of Medecine - ncbi One potential explanation it has been [wrongly] identified as spam by YT.
Indeed, YT has a logic of its own, that escapes many people understanding. I am afraid that there is nothing you, as a content creator, can do about it. Before, I posted, I cared to google “why are my YT comment disappear “. Unsurprisingly, I wasn’t the only one, the first one and definitely *not* the last one wondering why. Long story short, as far as I understand, YT algorithm is rather heavy handed (as in not very refined) i.e. spam filtering. Whilst we are having that conversation, please rest assured that each and every comment that I ever posted whether recently or months (if not years) ago which didn’t make it **never** were disrespectful, offensive not even negative and in any case shouldn’t have been regarded as in breach of YT rules, unless a cut/paste, even if one care to mention the source, could be regarded as a copyright infringement ?? (I am not an intellectual property law specialist, not at all !). Happy super-Tuesday ! ( can you wish that to someone, I honestly haven’t got the slightest idea??)
You always have an interesting take, Claude. I’m sure a lot of YT content brings out the trolls, but gladly we don’t seem to inspire much controversy. A safe space if you will. I’m afraid that our Super Tuesday is not super happy this time around. There is a palpable sense of dread hanging over the American political landscape.
You kept your sense of humor even in the rain. Good thing to have had the fenders.
As Kelsey says, once you're wet, you can't get any wetter!
Another awesome video! Ty Roland
Ahhh well thank you Dennis!
Can’t wait to see your next video…Slovenia is such a scenic country.
I'd heard great things about Slovenia but to be honest I was surprised by how amazing it is. Really an awesome destination.
Good ID on the stinging nettle! Ouch! Even in the continuous drizzle you were all smiling! 💜
Absolutely, This trip really taught me how not to be too concerned about weather.

Awesome ride! I also have worn a shower cap on my helmet overseas! It works really well Bailey! 🚴
Ha! I will let her know that she's not the only one!
Though nettles are quite uncomfortable when you brush against them, you can make tea from the leaves.
Very interesting!
10:35. The tides have changed, aka You can’t compete with youth :-) -John
Nope. Eventually you have to give up the reins.
Another nice video!
Thank you Klas!
Are you ever going to do a tour group?
I would pay.
Who knows? Perhaps some day!
7:39 no its not. if you check few minutes earlier you can see name. it shows direction
you're right, it's not!
3:20 I don't think this is the nettle that can ''sting'' you.
We weren't taking any chances!
Kopriva in Slovenian language. It is good for eating...similar to spinach
Interesting!
quinces ARE for eating. just usually not raw
I've never tried one, but I remember a nursery rhyme mentioning eating quince.
Well, You know.
Yes, Kelsey definitely knows!
There’s no bad weather, just bad gear, right?

Sounds like a great set-up Gary!
you were so close to elvis presley museum. oh well next time.
Really? Elvis Presley museum?
Write a book
I mean, how hard can it be?
Test
I think your test worked, Claude…

RUclips has some strange opinions about certain things. there seems to be no logical explanation.

To most Americans...all of Europe needs a good pressure washing.😂
Really? As in, they think Europe is not clean? Please elaborate.
...u mean Slovenia as one of the cleanest country in the whole world....
