- How many remember Volcom? In the early to mid 2000s Volcom was a major player in the world of action sports, and although some would stop short at calling it streetwear, I would argue they were a part of the group of brands that created the genre in the early days.

Still wear Volcom… don’t think it’s dead at all
I love Volcom, in fact I just bought a ton of stuff from an outlet store I didn't even know existed near me. I definitely noticed a drop off in people wearing it but that doesn't bother me; the quality and fun designs are still there. I used to work for Pacsun and I would buy all the mens shirts because they looked better than the women's stuff. I like what I LIKE so im going to still wear it

Just bought a pair of Volcom shorts and a Volcom shirt at Goodwill.
Bought my first Volcom hoodie in 2005 and have a put together a great collection over the years of their streetwear.. I love the brand💗.
Haven’t worn their stuff in a decade. Was at the boot store today looking for safety shoes since my work boots are killing my ankle after my surgery a couple months ago. Came across Volcoms line of safety work shoes, had to get me a pair. Super comfy and look good, can hardly tell that they’re a safety toe. More comfortable than my DC’s actually. Been wearing them all day and feel great so far. These might replace my other tennis shoes

I love the volcom shirts because of the fit/material. One of the few shirts brands i can wear. I love the surfer/skate/snowboard roots.
Last time I saw Volcom was today - I looked up the story of Volcom because I saw a guy wearing a hoodie with the 90s design, rather than the modern logo.

Their fancy shirts back in the late 90s were sensational. The fabrics were sooooo durable and lasted for years. Then the quality dropped, washing machines munched them to bits.
i d k what you mean, i have a bunch of volcom stuff and everything is beyond bang for buck.
i wore the jeans for work daily for 3 years now. the same few shirts for work as well with weekly washes and they are still great.
I have also found a drop in quality over the years.. I have two 15 year old volcom shirts that are pristine and that i still wear often.. I also have a 3 year old volcom hoodie that is disintegrating

Even though Volcom's Golden Era is long gone, specially as Volcom's Golden Boy Ryan Sheckler is now focused on following Rob Dyrdek's footsteps as an entrepreneur than a skater, the brand keeps pushing.
Trying to stay as true to their roots as possible by keeping art in the brand's DNA.

Good informative video, I still have my Alive we Ride VHS tape. that was my intro in to the brand and in the 90's it was a cool underground brand. It's to bad it got to big, I guess you can't stay cool forever.

I like the video except one thing… I don’t think they have fallen at all?? I’m 46 yrs old and still to this day the majority of my clothes are Volcom! They are well made fit great and still have great designs. Yeah they may not be the original owners and push that lifestyle from back in the day but still a great company and will continue too but there merchandise! Can’t always be damn the man have to grow up sometime!

This channel loves making videos about the supposed “fall” of successful brands, and most of them are still around and successful. A brand only “falls” if it fails and shuts down. If it’s still going and making money, it’s not a failure but channels like this can’t clickbait if they tell the truth lol

The idea that PAC SUN is where “streetwear brands go to die” is so ignorant. It reeks of superiority complex and sounds like nothing more than gatekeeping. I’ll always prefer small independently owned skate shops, but MOST kids in America don’t grow up near such stores. For them, shops like Pac Sun and Tilly’s are the only way they can get into the culture in the first place.
I’m not knocking it, at the end of the day style is whatever you personally like and how you decide to pair it. Not yucking anyone’s yum. 😂
