  • QNS reporters Jacob Kaye and Angélica Acevedo and El Correo NY editor Karmina Fonseca will host a debate with the five Democratic candidates for Queens borough president ahead of the June 23 primary election.
    Topics will include the recent protests in Queens and across the city, absentee ballots and the importance of voting, how to help small businesses in the borough get back on their feet as the city prepares for reopening, and more.

    what's wild to me is seeing the date of this debate and feeling like this year so far, the narrative changes and escalates on a daily basis. I wonder what all the candidates are thinking now, 10 days after, because on defunding the police - my views have certainly evolved. As yes - 735 views is not enough but this debate was very helpful for me as a voter so thank you to Schneps Media for hosting this.

    Crowley seemed to have the best grasp of the current reality we're in, and our needs for the future. Miranda is also good, but doesn't seem to have enough experience. Donovan sounds like another establishment hack - big spending on big projects with minimal knowledge and education or interest in investing in education.
