Terre is fucking awesome. I love her. He is one of the reasons I got into producing house music. Her style is immediately recognizable. ❤❤ I would love to see him live one day.
he's fuckin insane live have seen her twice, both times have impacted my life so significantly. saw her at Inner Varnika 2023 and they had some technical difficulties, entire sound system got killed by the rain and so there was a bit of a lull with people not knowing whether the set would continue, before she brought us back in with this warm angelic orchestral number that gently but swiftly beckoned the crowd back in. I've never seen a DJ so effortlessly get the crowd churning again after a hiccup without it feeling cheap or rushed. Highly HIGHLY recommend spend money, FLY if you have to, go see her.
very candid and open interview, here, really good to see. i'd be terrified to interview terre! it's also deeply, deeply funny that you seriously asked 'bros or cats', considering their entire body of work.
Yea boi, such a cool person. We used to chat a bit via email during my days at uni and he sent me perfumed Deeperama CDS & vinyls to the snowy Siberian city of Novosibirsk. COMATONSE rules !
Had the priviledge to witness Terre DJ this summer at Dekmantel and it's safe to say it was the best house set I've ever seen in my life. Tremendous beautiful deep and warm vibes during 3 hours, everybody just being crazy dancing on the dancefloor. Such a magical fragment of my life. Wish I could live it once again!
Long time Terre fan. He kindly said no to me asking if I could put his early ambient pieces on vinyl my reissue label. And he also said no to be asking him for a remix. Which kind of sucks. But I understand. I just wish she was a bit more receptive of the fame part and maybe working with people who have been big fans of hers. But its all good. I still enjoy her music and her opinions and viewpoints.
who are the composers and players of "Soleil Mauve"? I know that dj sprinkles hates djing, I'm pretty sure he hate playing music too. That's why his friend is hardrock striker.
Honestly, have never even known what dj sprinkles looked like. I don't need to know tbh, the music speaks for itself. Glad you got this interview, nevertheless..
Not sure how familiar Terre is with the UK electronic music culture but I’d love to meet her and perhaps collaborate. However, I feel like without any social media or contact it’d be almost impossible 😅. Maybe we would bump into each other on the streets of Tokyo. Nice interview tho, very laid back, also nice to see it wasn’t censored.
She has collaborated with Mark Fell, who is a British producer, several times. I'm assuming her collaborations are based on existing personal relationships with peers though.
Not really about the term 'House music' - it derived straight up from Haceinda club - which was the warehouse, or short for House - hence House music - music that was played in the House - or the Warehosue, or the Hacienda.
Ugh, all this talk about sexuality and queerness is boring, how would you like it if i talked about my straightness for the past 30 years. That'd be dull too. To truly transcend the issue and be at peace, you will stop talking about it. If i turned up to do a podcast and somebody said lets talk about your sexuality my response would be 'why?'. It's the same as talking about foot size, factual. But when interspersed with 'deep house music' becomes mega cringe. I might release a track called 'straightness' which includes a monotone speech of myself saying 'i was born straight, guess i'll always be this way way way way', i'm sure the queer 'community' will queue for miles to grab a copy and discuss it for decades online.
I don't really get this person's appeal. Also, House music was a term created by Robbie Williams and Frankie Knuckles to refer to the music from the Warehouse club in Chicago in the late 70s/early 80s.

The track after the power cut at IV was Pat Metheny Group - The Way Up (Part 2) from about 12 mins in. Incredible moment
@@sanpellegrino1607 man appreciate it. never thought I'd get an ID for that track. What a set!
Who are you talking about?

They have great chemistry
I mean I'm a whole-ass grown man and I wish Terre would adopt me

Your really proving Terres point if you think its "impossible" to make contact outside of social media tho
...... she has a website
