I stil have this very model in the garage somewhere and considering it comes from the 80s it's unbelievable it's still working. I'm an audio engineer now, and the sub on this thing sounded massive, the guys at jvc surely found a great balance for such a small light unit. Of course it's not perfect, but for us back then it was really exciting and good sounding.
Did you happen to get the size of the belt when you were tearing this box down? I happen to have the same box and it seems my belt has given out on me. And is it every screw marked with an arrow that needs to be removed to remove the cover? Thank you for the video, very informative!
JVC PC-V55J 4 long and 3 short screws and one knob from the front to open case and I did not need to replace the belt in this model as it was good so I do not know the size o the belt for it. I use a little flashlight to look into the holes to see if there is a screw that needs to come out to open anything.
