    This is a great demonstration of Florida fishing at it's finest. Very well put together. And this comment comes from someone that lived in both Southern California and Miami. Can't wait for all the next videos.

    I love this show...makes me hate being at work...yes I'm watching at work!
    I've only fished out of Newport, CA (I live in AZ) but a trip to Florida is on the horizon. I love the variety. Thanks for getting this show out there.

      Hey Jason, glad you like the show. Get out and see Florida and San Diego. Great fishing to be had on both coasts. We won't tell your boss.

    Nice video(s), always pick up a few tidbits when I watch them. Nice boat by the way, I love the Andros 32 OffShore, one of the best brands for tournament fishing!

    Look at the shape of a black grouper.
    They remind me of largemouth bass on steroids. I’ve watched them hit a bait while diving, they will charge a bait from 10’ away. That’s why they are called “Trucks”
    Watching this just brings back so many memories.
    I ran offshore charters since 94. I’m going to pull up on Rush one day soon.
    I took out professional football players and put them on Amber Jackson’s and they cried.
    You talk about Grab bags, we had what we called “Grand Slam” days. Which was : legal catch 5 species. I had days where we limited out on 5 species. That’s exactly what you’re talking about with “winter fishing”
    I was out of Anna Maria island Florida and our winter started At thanksgiving, things were rolling by then. If it was rough, I could fish skyway bridge. Honestly I could have never run offshore and fished the bridge, the only thing not present at the bridge were AJ’s and sailfish.

    I go bottom fishing every Sunday of the year on a sport fishing boat if i got the money. Amazing content, those bottom fish are very different from the ones in Southern California.

      Glad you like the show. We have been super stoked with the Slammers. We have been trying to break them but they won't give. They are built like a tank and have great torque when fighting a big fish. We had no problem landing 150# Tarpon on 6500 size reels last week.

    Rush you sure can make that net fly when your making bait, an enviable skill. Boy you sure know what coast the fishermen lives on by watching them grab a pole with a choice of a spinning reel or level wind.

    so your casting paddletail with a sliding sinker? that's pretty cool.

  • @nickthompson8432

    What power rods do you guys use for the spinning rods?

    • @LocalKnowledge
      @LocalKnowledge  5 лет назад

      We use the Penn Carnage line of rods and match the weight to what we are fishing for. We mostly use the 30-60# class rods.

    How did you guys rig up for bottom fishing? Was it just egg sinker, few feet of leader and jighead? Also, what combos were those? Thanks! Love the show by the way; keep it up!

    • @AliHussainy
      @AliHussainy 7 лет назад +1

      That's our normal rig. 2-8oz egg sinker (depending on depth and current) with 5' of 30-80# floro leader connected by a small swivel. We are fishing all Penn gear including the Slammer 3's and Fathoms matched up to a Penn Carnage rod. Hope this helps!

      Thank you so much! Great info! I'm thinking of getting some of the Penn gear. Also, it feels awesome to have you answer me. You and Rush are one of my greatest fishing idols. Feels great to have such amazing fishermen show me the ways. I'm only 15 so I still have a lot to learn, but having you and others teaching always makes the experience better. Hope to be able to meet you some day!
      Ps: Do you have Arab routes? I know you're from California, but I'm pretty sure your name isn't. I say this because I'm half Moroccan, half American, and in Morocco, Ali and Hussainy are common names. :)
