- I'm so excited to FINALLY add this piece to my collection and cross it off my wishlist!
In this video, I go through how the item came delivered after purchasing it from the Cartier website, the presentation of the delivery box, what's included, how to put on the love bracelet (SM), some tips to prevent or reduce scratching it, the pros & cons, and my overall thoughts.
I purchased the small love bracelet in the size 17cm. I have a wrist size of approximately 16cm. It's recommended to purchase the love bracelet 1.5cm up from your wrist size. However, if you prefer a tighter fit, it's recommended to go 1cm up from your wrist size, or 2cm up from your wrist size for a looser fit. As I'm in-between sizes (Cartier don't offer half cm sizes), I decided to get the tighter fit, as it's supposed to fit more snug on the wrist, rather than a bangle where it will move around. This prevents the bracelet from moving and rolling around too much on the wrist, and also reduces the chance of knocking it on things and scratching it up.
UPDATE
As at 1 September 2020, Cartier has gone through a price increase (approximately 4% in Australia). In the video, I mention the price difference between the Cartier Love Bracelet, SM and the Love Bracelet is $3,300. However, since the recent price increase, the difference is now $3,500.

Happy for you on your purchase. I have a few Cartier love bracelets in my collection (two thin ones, one yellow gold, one white gold, and two regular ones, one white gold, one yellow gold). Its iconic look is unmistakable, they are both great for stacking or worn standalone, and I have always preferred bangles (even though this has always been called a "bracelet," it's really a bangle). The hairline scratches you mentioned is normal for all gold and platinum jewelry. Over time, white gold finishing might need replating, and yellow gold might tarnish too and needs repolishing. It's best to take it back to Cartier Boutique for servicing because if regular jeweler is not careful, the serial number, Cartier stamp etc inside of your bracelet could get polished off which is really really bad. In terms of bracelet size (circumference), Cartier's website has reference, so you can take a string or tape to measure your wrist length, order/buy a love bracelet of the right size. (For me, my love bracelet size is 17.)

I’m planning to buy a love braclet but I don’t know what gold colour it’s mostly to resist scratching and not loose colour. What do u recommend?
@@nadine9053 I don't think they make much difference, be it white gold or yellow gold or rose gold, in terms of scratch resistance. Platinum is more hardy in terms of bending, but you can still get scratches on it fairly easily. (I have other platinum and rose gold jewelry.) The good thing about PT950 (that's the most common platinum standard plating) is that it doesn't tarnish like gold or silver, and it'll retain its sheen, even though you have scratches on them.
Platinum is much more expensive than gold since it's much harder to manipulate in jewelry making. but it's much more sturdier than gold. You might not notice it much with bracelet and necklace, but if you're considering rings setting, and if you plan to have a real nice stone (eg. a carat-weight diamond on a solitaire mount), don't skimp on it and go for the platinum mount because the claws are much stronger than gold (even 14k, but particularly 18k), and you definitely don't want to lose a 1.5carat diamond stone due to claws loosening. Rings can get bang around a lot when you're wearing it, no matter how careful you might be.

To me, whenever I think of Cartier, I just think of yellow gold as being the signature colour. I’m not sure why 😅 but I also have more yellow gold jewellery than rose gold so I thought it would go with my collection a lot better. I’ve heard there isn’t a huge difference between the yellow and the pink gold, so go with whichever you love more ☺️✨

Thank you! 🥰 no issues with the lock mechanism whatsoever. I don’t think it’s as much of an issue as it is with the regular love bracelet with the loose screw mechanism. This is kind of like a lock and so there’s no loose parts - which is definitely a pro with this smaller love bracelet!

does your bracelet (when gently pressed) make a small click sound when locked on your arm?
Very slightly! I checked with my SA and she said it’s normal and showed me a few others in store and they all made that noise. I did a one year update video recently on this bracelet ☺️

Just purchased mine! However I notice that the screw can easily rotate and open by gliding my finger nail instead of using the screw driver. Does yours happen to do that? If not mine may be defective.
Congrats!! 🤩 hmm it shouldn’t turn that easily. You’d need to put some force into it. Maybe see if you can take it in store and compare with another bracelet? I haven’t had any issues with mine being loose or anything so it couldn’t hurt to get it looked at

Thank you! It really is! ☺️ hmm you could as this version is easier to take on and off yourself but I wouldn’t recommend it as it may loosen the screw mechanism. It’s not made to be taken off everyday as you don’t need to since it’s made out of solid gold. If you want to take it off because you’re not used to wearing jewellery to bed, don’t worry, once you wear it for a couple of weeks, you’ll hardly notice it anymore ☺️

Hi there! Thank you so much 🥰 a good way to test is to see if you can rotate the bracelet easily on your wrist with the size 16. If you can, it’s too big. I would say the 15 would probably fit you best as it’s recommended to size 1.5cm up from your wrist size. It’s also personal preference how tight or loose you want it. At first, my bracelet felt a bit too snug but the size up was too loose so I ended up keeping the smaller size and I’ve gotten used to it. The bigger size would’ve definitely been annoying and gotten scratched easily because of the movement. The sales associate in Cartier should be able to help you find the right size ☺️

Hey love quick question does you jus on clou ring go over your love ring when you stack them? That’s what’s happening to me, do you think it may be a little big?
Hey hun, I don’t own the Juste un Clou ring (yet 😜) but I have tried it in store and the SA said it should be one size smaller than the love ring - same with the bracelets. I guess it fits looser so getting a size smaller means it won’t overlap with the love ring.

Hello! 🤗 it is slightly more snug than what I’m used to. The bracelet size is 17cm and my wrist size is approximately 16cm. I tried the 18cm in store and it was waaay too loose. A 17.5cm would be perfect but unfortunately Cartier don’t offer half sizes. It took a while for me to get used to it but at the end of the day, I’m glad I went with the 17cm because it’s less likely to get scratched since it doesn’t move around as much as the 18cm one. And I honestly don’t even notice it anymore ☺️ I would definitely suggest going in store and trying it on if you can though!

😰 no I haven’t. Is yours the thin or the normal love bracelet? I’ve heard it can happen with the normal bracelet because the screws can become loose overtime but I haven’t heard any problems with the thin version so far 😥 nonetheless, no matter which one it is, Cartier should at the very least take it in for inspection! I would call the client services number or try a different boutique if you can xx
helloxluxury I have the thick too which nearly fell off, luckily I noticed it but the one that fell off was the thin. They did take it in & said it past the test & nothing wrong with it n until I ask to speak to the manager that I wasn’t happy with it or they offered was a polish to fix the damage. Now I’m going to be constantly looking at it, so not impressed
Ahh that’s horrible 😥 I’m so sorry to hear that. That’s not the kind of service your expect from Cartier. I would still try and call the customer service line or try a different boutique. Sometimes it’s just the SA’s that aren’t helpful. You don’t want to have to keep checking and constantly be worried about it! Especially when it costs so much! I hope you can get some sort of comforting resolution, it’s just not acceptable xx

Can I know what you wrist size as My rist is 15.25 and I got size 17 I'm not sure if I should get size 16 mmmm
My wrist size just under 16cm, and the 17cm fits quite snug on me. I thought I’d need a size up but the 18cm was way too loose, it fell about 1/4 of a way down my hand. If the size 17 does the same for you, then I’d recommend getting the 16, but if it doesn’t, it should be okay. A tip my SA told me was that you shouldn’t be able to or it shouldn’t be easy to turn the bracelet on your wrist. If you can turn it easily, then it’s too big. I can JUST turn mine but it takes a bit of effort. I hope that helps!

It’s the 0.05ct. I think it’s the perfect size for everyday - not too big and not too small. It’s very subtle and just catches the light ☺️✨

You can definitely still see it in photos. The chain is very thin and dainty so it just looks like the diamond is floating on your neck. Whereas I know with other brands that do similar styles like Cartier, because the chain is 18k gold, it’s quite shiny so it distracts from the diamond itself. I much prefer the Tiffany one - it’s gorgeous and one of my favourite pieces in my collection. The diamond is round. You should totally get it! You won’t regret it 😊

It’s such a gorgeous piece! I wear mine everyday 24/7 ☺️ when I purchased it back in August 2020 it was $6,100AUD. They had a price increase in September 2020 I think and it’s now $6,350AUD.

Does anyones bracelet make a clicking sound when you pull up and down when it’s in it’s locked position ?
Mine has a very faint clicking sound when I pinch it together, even when locked. I thought maybe it was faulty/loose so I asked my SA about it one time when I went in store and she said it’s normal and showed me another bracelet and it did the same thing. I felt better knowing it wasn’t just mine, and I haven’t experienced any issues with it becoming loose over time and I’ve worn it pretty much 24/7 for almost a year ☺️

Hmm it depends if you’re more of a jewellery person or a handbag person, or what you’re wanting to add in your collection. I think the love bracelet is the better alternative because it’s real 18K solid gold and you wear it everyday 24/7, so you’ll get your cost per wear for it in no time. But ultimately it’s up to you and what you want/love more ☺️

Ohh sorry! I just posted my Cartier Love Wedding Band video and I thought you’d asked about the ring. Sorry!! Don’t mind me 🤦🏻♀️ haha I got the bracelet in size 17cm. My wrist is approximately 16cm. It’s recommended to go 1.5cm up from your wrist size but since Cartier don’t offer half sizes, the rule of thumb is to go for 1cm up from your wrist size for a tighter fit or 2cm up from your wrist size for a looser fit. I hope that helps 🤗

Definitely ☺️ it’s solid gold so it won’t tarnish at all. The only thing to be careful of is obviously scratches because it is a smooth surface and also the screws coming undone over time. However, I haven’t had any issues with my screws becoming loose - I think it’s more of an issue with the traditional love bracelets because they’re held on by an actual screw whereas this is more like a turn lock mechanism.

Hi! I had planned to wear it 24/7 when I purchased it but we’re still in lockdown where I am so because I’m at home all the time, I don’t wear it all the time. But when things are a bit more normal, I will keep it on. Do you keep yours on? ☺️
helloxluxury yes! At first itake it off when im working, but i noticed the hinge loosens a little bit when turning it frequently so I decided to keep it on 24/7 on my left wrist so it does not scratch more than when i wear at the right and it works! ☺️ hope you’ll enjoy it as much as i do!

No this was $6,100 AUD when I purchased it last year. The new price sounds about right - it generally goes up a couple of hundred each year, if not every two years.

There’s no price increase
It may depend on your country. In Australia, the price has increased by approximately 4% today (September 1st)
I recommend buying a non-authentic copy, same design, same metal/diamonds, but 5x cheaper. Which means you can buy 5x as much or get a much luxurious copy with diamonds for less than this base design 😎
