Smashing Pumpkins is a rare group in our day. Mainly because they keep on making music that is part and parcel of their signature sound. Cotton Candy on one hand, Neon Night-life on another. Very remarkable how they marry Metal with the Cosmic Dream Pop Fantasies. It's like they journey to places where light and shadow play forever!
A deliciously bleak and uplifting song. They totally nailed it on this live version. Would love to hear the entire gig cos they sound like they're locked-in and ROASTING.
Imagine Cobains vocals to it and it would be THE Nirvana song.... Same with "Unitet States" from the album Zeitgeist. Cornells voice in it and you`d think it`s Soundgarden...

One of my favirotes, I remeber discovering it on the b-side CD from their greatest hits when I was young(er), the rift still pops into my head from time to time, and seems to work its way when I'm messing on the guitar. Simple but brilliant.

@lasneh whatever studio owned it made a copyright claim, and it got region locked, this was over a year ago. I freaking loved that clip. The soccer scene/cigarette scene/intro doorknob lighter scenes were incredible. google "blue spring aeroplane flies high". It's region locked :'(
What the fuck happened to that one version that was synced perfectly with clips from some asian movie about a bunch of troubled kids that play this clapping game on the edge of high buildings. That version was just perfect! Somebody please re-upload it if you know which version I'm talking about
I found it searching around on Google Videos. Got the ban hammer from EMI. Lame, I know. I really wish that one was still around. However, I did find that those clips were from were the film Blue Spring. *shrug* Idk what you'll do with that information, but I intend on seeking out the film myself. Hopefully that vid will pop back up on youtube at somepoint. Or a studio version of the song appears soon.
I know it's 10 years later but I believe that's Matt Walker on the drums and this was played in France back in 1997. I might be wrong, but that's definitely Matt Walker on drums.

I saw them perform this in San Francisco, December 1996 and it sounded just as awesome as this did. Some songs just sound better live.
