I mean I’ve been a super fan since the mid 90s and I’ve seen them a lot from 96 to 2022 . I feel like each time I’m more amazed

He needs to play through some real amps again too. The music has lost some magic with simulated amps/effects straight to the PA. No cool organic feedback solos, or happy accidents like the old days. Too stale imo.

      i totally agree with you.
it took me a while to appreciate his Reverend guitars, but they seem pretty phenomental. i just don't like the guitar's design. its like a strange mix between a Fender stat and a Fernandes or something.
Isn't he playing with Laney heads and cabs now though? those are pretty rock solid pieces of gear for very high gain. i don't see him using digital rack effects like the old days with the Laney head though. if he is, i don't know what they are.
he was also using those Carsten's amp heads and cabs up until 3 years ago. i don't know much about them, but he seems pretty happy with those. i don't think he's using it in live environment though.

@@kristopherryanwatson I'm not sure what his setup is, I just remember most artists ditching their old equipment (even selling it off) in favor of modeled amps and effects. It really got under my skin. And he came out with his signature strat that was nothing like the ones that he used on the albums everyone loves, then ditched those as well. I don't know about Reverend either but it does have a fernandes vibe to it. I'm not really a fan since after 2000, I never connected with the new music, new vocal style, and new ban members. Still love the old stuff and keep popping in to see how they're doing.
Keep on rockin my friend 😀

      @@partycakes456 Totally agree with you.
i would spend many hours researching what his rig consisted of way back then in the golden age of the band between 1994-1997. All that modeled amp stuff he used in more recent years just seems so artificial to me.
to this day, i prefer Gish through to Mellon Collie. TAFT era music was just phenomenal. Zeitgeist is a banger, i don't care what anyone says. it's really underrated in my opinion. i can return to those albums any day of the week and listen to them from beginning to end, while the much newer stuff in the past 2 years has not even had a profound effect on me as being their best work...but i do love Beguiled and Empires. Billy knows how to write good guitar-rock songs.
You're right about He selling a lot of his best gear during the best era of the band. I think that was Reverb marketplace if not mistaken?
to me, i saw that as he shedding his skin for the foundations of the wall of sound he was best known for up until that point. I felt sad that he never kept it. It was almost like he was saying "don't expect us/our music to sound like that ever again", but maybe that's just me.
I don't know what happened between Billy and Fender that ended that partnerhsip when he had built that Signature Strat, but it didn't last too long. from what i recall, that dissolved partnership was the result of something ugly. He doesn't even use his Blue strat anymore, which was one of his last stats he played live ever, on tour up until 2019. he used that on many songs recording Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie, and was one of his 2 main strats on the MCIS Tour and the era between '95-'97.
anyway, before this turns into Guitar Corner, i bid you adieu!
glad to connect with you, cheers.
