Thank you for the video it was a big help. Just a helpful tip, when I cut something that the wood my blow out I put a strip of masking tape down then cut it and it will stop the wood from coming up. Thank you again.
I've been seeing everybody's pocket door I see the side where the door comes in and out but what about the right side I don't know what else to put there if the door is going to wiggle back and forth sometimes I just see a flat board you guys never show the other side where the door does not come out please show me thank you I do like your video
This guy is a hack. I nearly died laughing at the "cut half way through" *secret. What you do if you're a real carpenter, is you take a straight edge such as a level or drywall square, clamp them on the door where your cut is going to take place, and then score a DEEP line across the door careful to cut through the veneer all the way. Then, you remove the straight edges and cut just slightly "south" of your scored line. After the cut is made, gently corner sand both sides of the door and you will have a perfect, chip free cut every time if you follow this method.
You're literally the worst person, berating someone providing free information for people who have never done something before. 'Smarty smarty'.... hardly.

Why in their right mind would install a floor so that a pocket door with need to be trimmed!? Thankful that this isn't a vintage door situation! That would be a real shame!

Try painters tape on the cut. Comes out perfect. Great video 👍

Use a track saw for cutting doors down. Or make a door board with some Masonite. Cuts much straighter and eliminates chip out.

I would have power-planed the hidden long edge so that its no longer tight
I wonder if you should trim maybe 1/16 - 1/8 off the side so as it will go back in easier?
