    The 4th funnel was not cosmetic. It has significant uses for ventilation from engine room, kitchen exhaust, piping etc. There were stairs to the top for engine room personnel. The people who were on the original first class Titanic would today be Musk, Besos, Zuckerberg etc who already have their own row boats (and private jets to cross the pond). If they do recreate the original Titanic, then hopefully, like the current Queens from Cunard, still require black tie for dinner etc. If you're going to go for the authentic experience, it needs to be authentic.

    • @richardelliott8352
      @richardelliott8352 3 месяца назад +3

      the fourth funnel was a cosmetic choice , because all of that stuff could have been done with conventional scoops like on every other ship. The old Cunard line ships are now stripped of decking and used as open air cattle boats in the Mideast, packed usually with camels and sheep , because of the difficulty of raising meat cattle in that climate. They are hardly glamorous today.

      The fourth funnel was not used as a funnel therefore it was cosmetic. Why make it look like the other functional funnels if it's not for 'funnelling' away the smoke from the engines? The fact they had this huge non functional funnel meant they could put some other things in it.

    According to Bloomberg billionaire real time listing, Vladimir Potanin is worth "today" $31.4B & Palmer waited to long to build Titanic 2. When he originally proposed the project the estimated cost was $600M. He shouldn't build a ex replica. He should build something that keeps the spirit of the Titanic but something new, think Queen Mary 2. Bro.... can you do a video on the 127M superyacht Privilege One? It was a $440M yacht that designed by Laraki Yacht Design. The massive hull has been laid up in italy for more than 15 years. I'm not really sure what's going on with it. The sister ship to the titanic called the Olympic sailed successfully across the Atlantic for 25 years, so it was probably a well designed ship for its day , I’ve been to replica exhibits, showing the first class cabins, and by today’s standards would be pretty meager, so, despite the initial curiosity, I would think it’s a failed endeavour, not to mention the original ship had all wood furniture and wood panelling everywhere, so making it safe by today’s standards would be unlikely.

    I learned that the Titanic’s propeller had been reduced in size or compromised somehow for cost. If true, would it too be reproduced for authenticities sake?

      Very little could actually be ' reproduced'..
      An upgraded version of the same basic design would be over 95,% fake and so too would be it's maiden voyage where the fake atmosphere created by the passengers would have them wishing it were real.

    Sailing on a new version of the Titanic would be a hard NO! Just gives me the creeps, and it is kind of in bad taste considering the lives that were lost on the first one.

    Not too surprised Bezos work not being done in Amsterdam. Feadship has either 2 or 3 approved yards that can handle their work. I am sure Oceanco has same arrangements. I must be one of the few who would love to take a Transatlantic cruise. Would I do it on Titanic 2, maybe- let’s see what amenities it has onboard first! 😅
