Another week another tutorial! This one took a bit longer than usual so hopefully it gets 20 billions views. For a change, here's a beginner's guide to digital art! Most of the things you should know to get started the right way. Obviously, not for you if you're more advanced, but if you know someone who's just beginning the journey share this video with them! Let me know if it helps!
What do you think of the new setup? Any recommendations? How's the audio? Sounds good to me but I'm getting some noise pads to get rid of the bit of leftover echo. Hope it helps the next one :-)
Also, have a good weekend I'll be in Cyberpunk 2077 so I know I will.

I really like your video quality and the editing :)
As I have recently got into reading the manga of Attack on Titan, I've come to notice the insane amount of facial expressions, the art style is fairly simple but so effective, no character looks the same, they react different down to a small shift in linework.
So I'd be interested if you could do a tutorial on that, making faces seem more alive ^^

I am VERY used to pencil drawing, so the leap to my iPad is tough to get used to. I’m trying though. Most of my problems comes from the feel of the slick screen compared to paper. I’m getting there though. I also could use technique with some of the option in layers, brush type and filters. Like what works the best with all the drop downs for certain things. I’m using procreate and really love it. Edit: I wrote this comment early in the video and now you’re going over some of this. Duh on me. Thanks!!

@@kalegrape8510 the makeshift stylus is made by destroying a pen (unscrewing cap and taking everything out) then you put aluminium foil around the handle and fold a bit into the pen through the opening where the tip was, then you jam a cotton swap in there which should hold the aluminium in place too. To make it work dip the cotton part in water so it's wet, but not dripping wet, like a strong dampness? And hold the makeshift stylus by the aluminium foil covered handle otherwise it won't work.

Great stuff Marc, I often send beginners to your channel... your content is really wonderful. I only have basic tutorials, so when I have followers that’s don’t understand a lot of the fundamentals & terminology hook them up to you.

Hey Marc, great video, I'm newly returned to pursuing digital art at a skill level where I can start bringing in some money with it after a cursory interest in it since 2008, I went to art school but screwed off the whole time and after graduating almost 5 years ago am basically starting over, this REALLY helped me orient my self-education plan as I prepare for the proverbial "take two." Outstanding job once again, you've earned my sub!

Thanks a lot for these free lessons! Even this basic info is really helpful for somebody who lacks experience in digital art and drawing in general. Bought a cheap huion tablet yesterday, still struggling with it even though it's much more convenient than drawing with a mouse.

I wanted to learn how to draw YEARS ago - even picked up a Wacom Intuos tablet (older version, not the one on the site right now). But it collected dust in a laptop pouch lol... Majored in something other than art. Didn't make time to practice or learn. Now I'm going to start today, no matter how "old" I am or how bad I am (cause... novice/newbie) lol
It can be discouraging when seeing younger artists with so much skill and talent but i'm letting that fuel my motivation, and learn. I'm happy to have found your youtube channel. Thank you so much for all the free resources and invaluable tips/knowledge you share!!

I was gifted a drawing tablet for xmas and I'm excited to get started. I'm older and having some eye issues so this is appealing because I can zoom in for details and precision which is difficult now with traditional art using papers.
I am subscribing to your channel because I enjoyed this video and you have a pleasant demeanor and I anticipate it will be enjoyable learning from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Have a wonderful 2022, see you in the next video. 🙂
