    I’ve been doing deliveries full time for almost 2 years , I won’t lie but the pay was stable back then but starting 2023 esp March onwards , it has been such a pain on all 3 platforms(lower pay & crazy distance) , it’s finally time to move on , good for Part timers now but full timers it’s really a no no 😢

Earlier today I received a job from Deliveroo that was only paying $5.50, when I know if I'd to receive the same job on Grab, it would pay me $6+ inclusive of the Weekday Quest & Zone Boost.

      Agreed. It seems generally that food delivery fees are getting lower across the board. It seems to be the new reality. The sad fact is that due to the churn of riders there will always be someone to take even the lowest paying orders.
      For delivery platforms there is always the next batch of riders who will accept reduction in fares. For senior riders they can complain and feel frustrated but there does not seem to be much that can be done😔

    Looking at the local market size, decreasing consumer spending, rising costs of everything, the upcoming mandatory rider cpf contribution, Grab's unrealistic expectations, over ambitious plans to squeeze more profit and lesser rider earnings, it just isn't sustainable for both the company and the riders.

    • @grabadventures
      @grabadventures  Год назад +1

      Here's the thing about Grab and riders that I hv observed over the past 2 years.
      Whenever grab reduces the payout structure, there will be a protest smd grumbling among the rider community. A portion of them will leave or switch to another company.
      But there is always an equal number of new people who will enter the grab delivery job.
      So it's all about churn. In the end Grab will always have riders who are willing to deliver for them.

    as cafe and restaurant owner, i know the income you get as delivery man sure low. even worse, restaurant owner like me being forced to pay 20% of our sales to the delivery food company. that's literally virtual rent cost since they own the platform and we must pay double rent (virtual and building in real life) this makes each menu stupidly overpriced than dine-in and customer only buy online when there's a discount.
    as customer you can still support delivery man with this trick though :
    • use discount or promo when available
    • give tips to delivery man via cash or digital wallet so the money go straight to them not the greedy company who employs them.

    Are the incentives different or per trip more?

      Actually all 3 delivery platforms treat bicycle and pab under one classification. Only advantage of using a pab over a bicycle is that the rider does not get tired as much as on a bicycle so can do more orders this increasing the earnings. Incentives are the same.

Malaysians are crossing over like crazy ever since Covid restrictions were removed. 3.4 going 3.5 to 1, imagine just crossing over and they are paid such rate.

    • @grabadventures
      @grabadventures  Год назад +1

      Hi bro. It depends on the area you are working in. If you are doing the downtown and central areas you should be able to make above that once you figure out the hotspots and best timings to work.
      However heartlands is a bit tricky. It really depends on the area and cannot be guaranteed.
      You also have to take into account that some months will be less and some months will be more.
      Also there is no paid leave, medical benefits, etc that you would find in a traditional job.
      I am not trying to discourage you but just presenting the facts as they are. The earnings in food delivery is really subjective
