Anton's a real bro helping out in the DPS department by using a special trick that allows you to stay in his burst mode indefinitely. You need his Cinema Mindscape 1 and then all you have to do is make sure you only connect the second drill attack against the enemy while purposefully missing the first attack of the chain.

@@Retax7 From my own style of cancelling the quick move, I dodge twice while holding my thumbstick to the right and do combo on a circling rhythm to the enemy

@@cleoraasaran9957 This is Hoyoverse, there's a reason why Xiangling, Bennett, Xingqiu, Fischl are still top tier in their roles. Hoyoverse has the only gachas out there where 1.0 4* characters are still top meta since day 1
@@GuyWithAnAmazingHatsame goes with Pela and tingyun in star rail which still is used until today! Seems like hoyo doesn't know how to balance their 1.0 characters lol but we can't say the same for DPS characters tho which is what Anton is.

@@GuyWithAnAmazingHat frankly enough those 4* you mentioned are dubbed as a "mistake" because genshin team doesnt know how to scale their shts as a proper 4*, thus making newer 4* (and even some 5* to the extent) characters seen as a lame unit in comparison

What does C6 R5 mean?
FAIR WARNING: This is harder to do than it looks when in actual combat
You forgot to mention how Grace and Rina are ESSENTIAL for him to do significant damage. You want a good electro applicator so the enemies are already shocked before you use Anton to get more damage- aka you need Grace. Rina's def penetration also plays a huge role, it's a very powerful debuff. Without all that, even if you have C6 R5 Anton, without the right supports he won't be that good in harder stages.
What about grace and anby?

@@montypython3014 then you’re missing shock application from grace :/ youd be working basically with Anton on his crit dps potential solo which isn’t that great. I’d say running him with grace without rina is better. Whether you go for Anby or a support like Nicole or soukaku is up to you

Make the whiff take energy.
They're probably gonna make it only refund energy ONLY IF THE FIRST ATTACK ACTUALLY HITS so you can still whiff without losing energy but if you hit the first attack you have to commit to the bit and go all the way for the third hit

TLDR; if you use the kungfoo dude make sure to use his mana skill for attacking and have first mind scape unlocked when attacking with mana skill make sure the first attack doesn’t connect then lead it for the drill

Getting that unwanted Cinema 6 Anton while pulling for Ellen suddenly feels valid
I C6'd Anton while pulling for Ellen. This is so helpful
honestly just impressed that people find these types of things.
The video doesn't quite tell the whole story because that drill attack (when used for it's full duration as shown) costs ~15 energy, way more than the M1 can refund.
The reason it still works is because you don't need all 15 of that energy to start the drill attack (since it drains it over time rather than upfront), and once you've started the drill, the game let's you continue it to its max duration, even if you run out of energy half way through (unclear if this is intentional). Then, at the END of the attack, it refunds 5 energy, giving you enough to start another attack again.
Even if the drill attack continuing after running out of energy half-way is intentional, using that to get unlimited attacks definitely isn't, so I suspect it will be patched, perhaps by moving the M1 activation to the start of the skill rather than the end of it.
Maybe not, it's not that practical anyway, and it's not like most enemies will be stunned forever right 🫡
I actually think this behaviour is intentional, because the intent of having the energy refund at the end of it is, in non-optimized strings, to ensure you get the hit 3 of the string after the drill attack empowered.
This is just curating which attack is next in that string. I don't think it's something they'll want to or should change, either, since not only does it provide depth to a character that otherwise doesn't have a whole lot of it (intentional whiffs in main combo is an interesting dynamic) but they've also shown that they're down to have more rewards for more precise or specific inputs for characters (Nicole's 360EX tap burst values and alternatively extra hold duration)
It's also really easy to whiff the correct spacing for the Anton thing and either hit M1, which breaks the combo, or whiff drill, which loses a lot of dps. Considering it's basically only for already stunned enemy loops and we also have Zhu Yuan now who does an extra 80% damage to those in core skill, I don't think this is gonna set Anton up as all that much of an outlier in the long run

You can also change his energy by going in and out with him.
Energy does not deplete when outside and burst stays. You can have power up mode the whole game basically.
This is cool and definitely useful for F2P players. I am following someone that has cleared all 17 available floors. Their first team is standard Ellen, Lyacon & Soukaku ICE team, but what is most impressive is that the 2nd team is Piper+Lucy with Koleda. He's 20 levels under everything and the assault and disorder procs off piper are just insane. Also, he managed to clear floor 17 before they fixed Koleda's bug too..... XD

Yeah piper and Lucy are REALLY good. I got them from my initial pulls so I figured why not try them out. Piper applys assault like no tmr and Lucy's pigs do a surprising amount of off field dmg.
@dingdongskie Here's the link to the vid featuring floor 17 with the team. You can see his weapons and disc's here. I'm also struggling at floor 9 myself, and I have everything except for Koleda's weapon, but my disc's are not only a mess but not all are levelled. I don't think it's worth it to farm for disc's until you pass IK lvl 40, so I'd say just throw w.e you have from the set on them for the set bonuses, and then worry about farming for proper stats after IK lvl 40.
EDIT: Also, take into consideration that his Lucy and Piper are M6(C6) and I forget his Koleda but he has at least M1.

Honestly I don't think they'll change it. Realistically, it only means a few people will clear Shiyu faster than they maybe intended for the first or second rotation of Shiyu. Once people get up to level, this will just be a cool tech that is funny to do, but will be easily outclassed by the correct level 5 star carries.

@@GuyWithAnAmazingHat Those characters aren't on field carries though. They are off field dps, buff, and utility. They have traits that make them very hard to powercreep, such as XL having an off field death field with no internal reaction cool down, or XQ giving huge hydro application with interrupt resist and damage reduction. Anton does on field damage in this scenario. He will easily be pushed to the side once Ellen teams get to the correct level, and/or we get other DPS. He simply has a gimmick that gives him a head start early game, but it will definitely fall off.
