Corsair is giving away free iCUE LINK CABLES!

- Today, Corsair emailed me about the shipment of a free 100mm Standard iCUE link cable and it's come to my attention that anybody who purchased the QX120 FAN kit may be entitled to this cable.
Customer support indicated to me that future shipments of the QX120 fan kits will include the second cable.
This is a start to correcting the biggest problem I can see with the new iCUE LINK devices.

I didn’t get an email from Corsair as I ordered 2 QX120 starter kits from a reseller or see your video until today. Luckily I did see the banner on the QX starter kit web page about the complementary 100mm cable. So I contacted Corsair customer support and got 2 cables shipped to me within the week. Just before I ordered an additional single QX120 for the rear of my case. Nice 😊👍
Thanks for the heads up! I just filled out the form and submitted my proof of purchase for the three 3-packs I purchased. I noted in the form that I would prefer 90-degree cables if possible and just got the confirmation that Corsair is sending me out a 90-degree cable for each set of fans I bought.
Hi msobadger! Thanks for that update, That's important info to know that corsair will honor a request for a 90 degree cable, they sent me the standard connector of course, which is less than ideal.
I happy to hear that Corsair did that for you!! I would expect that almost everybody would benefit more from the 90 degree cables than the standard, the standard cable has driven me crazy on a couple of occasions.

I bought 2 Starter kits, and both came with a 600mm cable with 1 90 degree and 1 straight connector AND came with the 200mm cable with both ends 90 degrees same cables as what came in the aio.

Got mine yesterday they shipped with the same cables as yours. so at minimum 1 90 Degree adpter side at least per cable

I got a 3fan kit in this week and it shipped with 2 cables, the standard connector, and a 90 degree.
Good to see Corsair doing this. Would you be able to do a quick comparison video between the new QX fans and the QL fans. With the QL fans there is a slight darker spot between the LEDs and was wondering if it’s the same with the new QX fans.
Edit: I was able to find a video of the QX fans and the LED layout looks the same as the QL’s
It is the same. There is a dark spot
the cables with the 90s in them will be better for small tower builds like mid or full tower. the cables that are "normal" will work perfectly fine in my corsair obsidian 1000D super tower case.
I am in the UK could anyone tell me where to purchase the Tac cable for the small port in the hub.
Hi johnduffield6752, here is the product page on the UK site for the tach cable, doesn't look like it's available to purchase individually yet, it's not available on the US site yet either. Perhaps a nice call to Corsair sales would be able to get it.

i just Recently bought 6 boxes of of the QX120 that cost me over 1000. i did go to that link but i do not see the page you have up on the video will try to see if i can find it if not i will have to just call them they don't have that request up any more.
Hi @sergioklukas5329, yea, it appears that link is no longer active. I know for a fact they were shipping new QX120 kits with another cable so maybe they feel like they don't need to have that active. I haven't heard anything from Corsair about the cable. Wouldn't mind an extra cable after spending over 500 dollars on the fan setup for my current pc
I would like to see 90 degree on both ends
The small one was bot 90degres , tho longer one was with one wasnt a problem, but i have a decent sized case
I just ordered the AIO for my computer, I notice in the photo it appears the AIO comes with a 90 to 90? Why does it seem I cant find this cable able to be bought anywhere but it comes in the kit for the AIO? Does anyone know if corsair is going to be ramping up production on these 90 to 90s? They are so much more useful than the standard connection
Hi redrubydragon, You are correct, the AIO did come with a 90 to 90 degree cable. I also have not seen this exact cable available on the website. Only a standard to 90.
I don't have any knowledge if a 90/90 cable is coming, but it better be if I'm being honest!!!
I've looked a couple times to get the right cables and they have been backordered, because I can imagine that everybody who has this product has had the same issue with the standard cables.
I've placed icue link in several PC's and without fail everytime, i've absolutely needed the 90 degree connectors. I've gotten it done with what i've had, but it's a pain and not ideal. If you have a large roomy case, no problem, but most mid tower and mini tower cases, it's a pain.
If Corsair cares about iCUE Link, 90 degree cables will become available and plentiful. When? I have no idea!

@@HardwareArtisan Yeah honestly as I am putting my build together, the best way to go for wiring everything up in series is 90/90 cables all the way through, the only time I could see a standard being used is for the hub, but for interconnecting devices together 90/90 seems to be the best option. Heck even for the hub a 90 would be best as I am planning on expanding my icue ecosystem in the future and I would like to put the link hubs right next to each other, but with the standard connections it just doesnt look as clean as I would like it to be.
I recently bought the three pack and an aio end it did indeed come with now two cables in the three pack. I still requested for a free cable and I believe you can request the type of cable you need as well so I said an 90 to 90° cable.

geez for 50.00 a pop, they can do better, I'll wait for someone to do it cheaper and without that Corsair app-
so for 7 fans that would be 350.00, a bit too pricey

Just say no to all Corsair RGB.
None of it works for me.
I tried everything.
Wasted a whole lot of money on it too. Buying same thing, and different things, over and over hoping I'd get a working unit.
100mm straight is honestly not helpful at all...probably the single worst thing about these new fans is trying to figure out how to connect these damn fans if you have like 10 of them to install and you want it done clean and not overbuy stuff. using two boxes seems like the only way and 90 deg cabling. they could have easily just done 90 deg extensions too...and hurry up with the white cable kits!!

Done with Corsair, why not just make 8 port hubs and include cable like you said. $10-25 for 2¢ cables. instead you end up with 3-4 hubs + usb2 hub. I don’t even want to tally up total cost for Corsair f’ing rgb’s. just dishonest and straight up robbery 😡

A PR move 💀 they knew damn well that the cable was needed beforehand. this proprietary BS from corsair is getting out of hand. Keep allowing it and falling for this kind of behavior and we'll have an apple in the pc building market.
They just need to make longer 90 degree cables. I recently purchase link h150i it included 2 90 135mm cable and 1 straight / 90 cable.
4 months later and no changes it seems. I complained in a ticket and they are sending me 2x 600mm 90 degree cables. I cant even hook all these up without them as my radiator fittings are smack dab in the middle of where the cable is supposed to plug in. The box also came with a 2nd straight connector cable but it is probably the shortest cable in the known universe which is not useful to me whatsoever.
My goodness, how gracious of them. An extra cable....wow. What did we do for such an honor besides pay double for what their products are worth?
Stay away from Corsair RGB ecosystem.
I just spent yet another $100 in an attempt to get another Commander Core and Master LC100 Triangle, both of which arrived dead out of the box or fried themselves in the first minute of me connecting them up. No way of telling. This is getting old. Oh, my case is lit up with RGB alright. Rainbow pvke on max brightness I can't change, or total dead and dark Corsair parts with LEDs that never come on.
Put your money into a next level up motherboard or next level up GPU or CPU.
It's the power cable I'm frustrated with. I've been trying to get hold of a 6pin male to 6pin male power cable to run it all. I managed to get one but came from Germany. I connected it but the system would not power on , so I'm stuck with what power cable to get. Why they give you this small rubbish cable is beyond me.
Hi stevesells5893, I'm sorry it's a frustrating experience. Your power supply should have a decent length PCIe cable to connect this to. What power supply do you have? Maybe I can help point you to a suitable power cable for your power supply to connect this to.
It didn’t cause “some” frustration to “some” people. Simply those extra cables are not always in stock on some markets making useless to buy Corsair iCue Link components like fans for your build. Corsair lost hugely next to Lian Li complete solution.

Just got the icue set. Mine came with the free cable in the box. Didn’t need to send off for it. They’re pretty useless at 100mm long anyway but I guess they may come in handy down the line

Still don't justify the price.i have 10 fans in my 5000D nobody gonna spend $500 for fans corsair needs to change the price if they wanna sell alot

Speak for yourself, I just bought 10 QX fans and an AIO for my 5000D.
They did add an extra 100mm cable with my 3 fan kit, but you don't get one with the AIO or single fan kit. There is a button to click for a free cable when you order your kit. Funny story but the cable arrived 3 days before the fan kit did.
ICUE don't work, so how is ILink going to be any different.
Maybe get your old stuff to work first.
I ended up having to order other cables, and only recieved the angle, and the 100 mm won't ship till august.

100MM cable isn't very useful, the 90 degree angled cable would be useful though. I bought two 3pack kits, the 360mm AIO, and a single 120mm fan for my Corsair 5000D Airflow kit.
Hi Tater76, did your 3 pack kits come with an extra cable? I'm assuming they all have a second cable in them now. I've done a few builds with iCUE Link so far, i've completed them all, but I really, really always find myself wishing for more of the 90 degree cables. Since these have been backordered the times i've looked, i'm assuming everybody wants the 90 degree cables.

@@HardwareArtisan I think it did come with a 200mm and a 100mm cable. however, the 100mm cable that is connecting my AIO fans to my rear case fan is right up against case, really need a 90 degree one for that fan. I do have a pretty awesome system look now, I have the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra and 5900x and 32gigs of Corsair Dominator ram all connected to the ASRock Taichi x570 Motherboard.

Thanks for your answer, I actually found what was going wrong , that was my 1st fan on the beginning of the line, I separated everything then tested outside the case , so two of the 16 leds don't work anymore ;)
