Why didn't these people get gas before the storm? It was recommended to have a weeks supply of food, water and fuel. Like in any disaster, the worst part is the unprepared people or those who panic.
@@bubbajones4522Maybe you couldn't find it in time. Maybe you drive twice the amount that others do. Maybe fuel efficiency differs. Maybe you had a lot of places to go, Maybe you're evacuating...
I live by the water in Sarasota and lost power. The electric crews are total heroes! Had power in less than 2 days...amazing! Florida needs to kick that woke month to the curb and have Lineman Day
The power issue is with the control of the Longshoremen and their tactic to with holding gas since before the storm came! The gas has been there for over a week when they had power and did not distribute the fuel!
Reserve tanks were already there in anticipation of Helene. That gas wasnt needed for Helene, but thousands evacuated ahead of Milton. Those who stayed also filled up their vehicles and extra 5 gallon containers. Gas stations ran dry pretty quickly, but they were getting fuel up to Wednesday morning. I passed by the Wawa line and they had gas. DeSantis actually said all of this at a press conference.
Our electrical infrastructure in TB is a joke. Duke/Teco charge big money and dont even put wires underground. Gov Desaints State Guard should of had 1000 fuel tanker trucks on high ground BEfoRE storm hit.
Why does all our fuel in the state of Florida go through the port of tampa? It is a single point of failure when a storm hits Tampa. Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, JAX all those ports should be equipped to unload fuel.
TECO won't have power restored until next Thursday which is totally outrageous and unacceptable. But as a consequence, people need gas to run home generators. Everything runs on gas and electricity. So, that means no food in grocery stores and water that is unsafe to drink. Mayor Castor and TECO were totally unprepared. TECO's 6k linemen is not enough. They need to ask for help from the 60k out-of-state linemen. In the meantime, the gas shortage is creating a dangerous and violent crisis in Tampa. No food. No water. No power. No gas. And No answers. Mayor Castor, where are you? Archie Collins, where are you? We need help! We need this fixed NOW!
To many live in Florida.. with this I see Florida becoming the new California or NYC. Sad. People should have prepared of shouldn't have moved here to begin with don't help when we have a wide open border
Tampa is turning into how NYC was back in 2012 when Hurricane Sandy Hit. Long lines at gas stations, impatient people, everyone wandering the streets, and violence at the pumps to the point police have to be on stamd bye. I would know since i was a first responder during those times and now live in Tampa area. I saw that and just left to Orlando. Getting the power back on is imperative so the gas can get refilled at the stations
Some of the negative comments are laughable...barely 2 days past a second storm, and the expectation for power is now, now, now..... Some of you need to learn how the power grid is rebuilt.... and furthermore, some of you need to learn some survival skills.... Many fail to prepare for the situation and then complain when you're standing there with your junk in your hand and no food or water. I just don't get that...I keep my truck filled with gas, a case of water, some cans of chunky soup, a first aid kit, a jump pak, and other incidentals depending on the season... I've worked many mutual aid situations and am always mystified on how many people I saw walking around like zombies totally unprepared on how to survive more than a day or two, especially when there were days and days worth or warning...
They tell you to evacuate for a reason. This is why. You leave town and come back when they it’s ready. Sad to see how entitled we are as a country. @@mattcall90 Your solution to that is to bitch and throw a tantrum on national television? It’s a bigger risk doing that than showing up to work and telling your employer what your situation is. When the lights go out reality kicks in. Prepared for unpredictable times.
actually (particularly if you can reduce your apps and data usage) you can keep that charge on for quite a while, and try more than one device: phone, ipad, and laptop!. All you need is one other place with power that you are allowed to charge up.
Can someone ask Hillsborough County Solid Waste Department to pick up all of the hot garbage they are skipping garbage days? They are telling residents they resumed services but no-show. Flies, maggots, bee population increasing. Next will be possums and raccoons moving into our backyards
Hello there, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing ever. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life.He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. See John 1:12 for this please. Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?

Tampa’s utilities is pathetic. State and local leadership are incompetent in their efforts towards energy planning and distribution.
this is a normal issue after a hurricane
In third world countries it is.
He went out of his way to try and ensure us and give us a false sense of security that a gas shortage would not be one of our issues.

There was no shortage or gas lines before Helene. There werent any large number of people evacuating either. We didn't even lose power with Helene.

Tampa is second to Port Everglades. Jacksonville has fuel as well.
