My husband is from owerri but I have not prepared this for him before. My inlaws were doing shakara when I asked them to teach me how to cook it. Now I will confidently cook it on my own... Thanks Aunt Flo 💕

Weldone aunty Flo. D reason u have to transfer d soup into a container immediately is so d soup remains fresh, and d vegetable doesn't darken.. And I will eat d soup wit my cabbage fufu

I will eat this ofe owerri with oatmeal fufu. I believe the reason why you transfer the soup to a cool container would be so that you do not over cook the vegetables/nutrients since the stove is still hot. The soup looks delicious 😋👌 with lots of obstacles. Thank you so much for sharing. Another classic recipe from Flo.

Wow. Been wanting this for sooooo long. Heard so much about this ofe . I used to have a little girl neighbor she would sing and dance for this soup. I'm yoruba you see and she would go on and on singing and dancing until I asked someone e to translate for me
    Well now I know.
It's the same with our special efo elemi meje.
Only veg. And cocoyam we don't add

I will commend u for trying to make Ofe Owerri but I have to correct u in some areas. 1. U don't use that white cocoyam for ofe owerri, u use the red cocoyam( ede uhia) in my dialect. 2. U add ur ugu leaf before the okazi leaf and reduce ur heat when u add ur vegetables. It will cook just for few sec. Ur doing well ma. Weldon

Great job! I’m Akwa/Cross so we don’t mix okazi with the pumpkin leaves. We use them separately in different dishes. I’m curious about the aroma. I’m sure it would definitely taste delicious! Yummy!!

God is Good He gave us His Son who died on the Cross for our sins for our Everlasting Life. Have you received Christ yet as your Saviour? If yet not in Christ do it today and repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Now is time for Salvation no more time to waste this is urgent. God Bless!!!!

Chai Aunty flo is back again with this cooking recipe wow this is what i and my unborn baby needs now ooooo madre Mia, the reason you have to pour it out is for the leafs not to continue cooking in the pot so as to not lose all of it's nutrient and i will like to squander this soup with semo lol😁😁😁😁😁😁 kudos

Palm fruits cooked and pulp washed out and used instead of palm oil. Add smoked Ofrima fish and Isam also.

No dear, traditional ofe owerre is not cooked with smoked fish but dry fish and of course isam is a contemporary but welcome addition but not a conventional/ traditional recipe.
