Came across this series looking for ideas for an Easter trip. Looks like I’ll be making the trip. It’s exactly what we’re after. I have to say, It’s refreshing to see a driver that understands you don’t need 40inch tyres, 5000RPM and 40kph to negotiate an obstacle. Far easier on the vehicle and the tracks.
Awesome videos! Thanks for the effort showing us these beautiful spots in NSW. No doubt you'll both remember this trip forever....quality family time....nature.......just great!
Colo River is a beautiful spot. Used to go on Scout camps there about 30 or so year ago. Some decent tides there though. You could walk out during the day it's a foot deep, by the afternoon it's almost 4 or 5 and it'll drift you downstream.
One of your best trips buddy 👍👍👍 loved the scenery/exploring/camp spots, the best thing about your channel is u don’t have strict times, not come on we have to go now, 8am have to be somewhere at 3pm, u go to different places yes but not regimental, cheers Tyler
Great videos, and what amazing memories your son will have with him for the rest of his life. I was at your last stop on the Colo river 2 weekends ago with my 2 boys and we had a great time playing in the river. We were up there to have a look at mountain beach campground but unfortunately that bridge was under repair. Keep the videos coming you are an inspiration.
Great series and your episode 4 video ensured I wouldn't waste my time trying to take our Touareg on the Cox's river crossings. Just a tad too deep methinks. (we did Kowmung Fire Trail yesterday - A lot of fun.) We really enjoyed this and will have a look through your other vids. Thanks for posting.
Great video mate, I just subscribed. What's more the adventures you take your son on, will be with him for life. Without getting to deep, my father spent time with me as a child and we are still great mates today. It's a shame more fathers don't spent time with their children, I'm sure that children benefit from it...
Enjoyed the Series Tyler excellent camera work mate, you make it look so easy. You could benefit greatly by having a filter for your drone on the sunny days though. Keep up the good work.
Hi Tyler , just watched this trip again as I am heading up to Lake Lyell next Friday afternoon and was hoping you could give me the trip route you took from Lake Lyell ? Cheers
Great vids! 4:59 Does your truck have HDC? Was it active for that run down? How did it go for the trip mate any breakages/flats etc mate? Funny I was about to ask if you had a PLB and a second after you showed it. Same model as I have. Worth their weight in gold and essential in my mind.
Mate i just love your videos!! Awesome places you go with your awesome son!! Thanks for sharing your adventures. What size tyres are you running? 32's? Cheers!
Yeah it seems to be pretty good but I haven't had anything else to compare it to i guess. Its been on for a couple of years with no problems, seems strong, plenty of flex in the rear coils and rides reasonably nice, especially when you're loaded up for a trip.
@@TylerThompson90 That was great viewing Tyler, we have been exploring around Zig Zag to Newnes with a few mates and our young boys, they love it. I will try and follow your route around the Cox's river area next time. I'll need to get Hema maps, this has been truly inspirational. Please keep posting these adventures
Hey mate, some of the area is state forest and some is national park. Im not 100% sure but normally you are allowed quads in the state forest area but maybe not the national park, you would maybe have to contact national parks nsw
Tyler Thompson no problem, i will search the maps and put a route together, just looked like you guys had lots of fun, keep up the good work, we enjoy it, thanks Mate
Epic adventure, at times i lost track of who the adult was lol. Smart boy, and you get my vote for father of the year.
Thank you! Appreciate it :)

Those cox river crossings, what track should I follow to do them?
Hi Tyler , just watched this trip again as I am heading up to Lake Lyell next Friday afternoon and was hoping you could give me the trip route you took from Lake Lyell ? Cheers
Hey mate, na sorry I never save any track records/names, its all just off the top of my head. Plenty out there to explore but!
Great video mate 👌👌👌👌👌
Thanks mate!
Great vids!

Funny I was about to ask if you had a PLB and a second after you showed it. Same model as I have. Worth their weight in gold and essential in my mind.
Thanks mate! Nope it doesn't have HDC and no breakages or flats on this trip :)
Yep definitely a worthy piece of equipment to have
Great video Kyle just wondering do you see any wildlife along the way such as deer, pigs etc?
Huge storm cell flooded that valley back in like 2008-2010
"thoses are your new shorts" says every parent ever
Hi Tyler, If you have, can you please share the map/route from lake Lyell to Mt walker? Cheers
Sorry don't have any maps mate, just made it all up as we went haha
@@TylerThompson90 All good. thanks! Awesome vedios mate
The mountains looked like floating on clouds at lake Lyell
Beautiful area there!
Hey champ , just re watching and was wondering would your np300 get up Mt Walker , what do you think ?
Hey mate, probably could if I really wanted but would be a massive struggle and would probably be winching some of it haha
Hey mate, Do you by any chance have the map of the tracks you did in Lake Lyell and Mount Walker? tracks looks amazing
Hey mate, nope sorry i don't, all just in my head haha. Its not a big area though so not too hard to find them all once you're out there exploring
@@TylerThompson90 thanks mate
Hi mate, the camp spot at the start of the video, do you remember if that was a paid for camp site in the recreation area, or was it a free camp?
Hey mate, part of the paid camp ground I'm pretty sure from memory
@@TylerThompson90 thanks mate camping out there at the end of the month.
Just discovered your vids mate. Awesome. What tyre pressures did you find you needed?
Thanks mate! For the tracks on this video around 16PSI
@@TylerThompson90 heading there in a week to do the Oberon Colong teack and relax.
Hey man, wicked vid. I'm literally going to lake lyell tomorrow in the nav, and love to see how you do it. What track did you do?
Thanks mate! I think the track we did around Lake Lyell is closed now
Mate i just love your videos!! Awesome places you go with your awesome son!! Thanks for sharing your adventures. What size tyres are you running? 32's? Cheers!
Cheers mate! Thanks for watching :). Yep 265/75/R16 which is a little under 32 inch.
Tyler Thompson cool mate. Is your suspension standard height? Or have you put a lift in it?
Yep I've got a lift kit in it, 30mm tough dog lift, coils and shocks.
Tyler Thompson yeah I thought so. Very nice. Are you happy with the tough dog suspension?
Yeah it seems to be pretty good but I haven't had anything else to compare it to i guess. Its been on for a couple of years with no problems, seems strong, plenty of flex in the rear coils and rides reasonably nice, especially when you're loaded up for a trip.
Unfortunately theyve chained off they great little secret lookout off the Bells line :(
Used to be so many more tracks
How good is Colo
Great spot mate!
Hey mate, what size tyres and lift are you running in that ?
Hey mate, 30mm tough dog lift and tyres are a 265/75/R16 (little bit under 32inch)
Tyler Thompson no worries thanks mate ! Love the videos too, keep them coming
Thanks mate!
