I've have a question: After putting in a can of leak stopper, should you top up the refrigerant straight away, or wait (hours, days, weeks) before adding the refrigerant?
thnx for the info. i have a 2008 saab/trailblazer with an a/c leak and gonna try this stuff. the car has under 105k miles on it and still runs great but need the cool in summer. i live up north in new england and it's a cold winter, do you think i could put this stuff in during the winter so i can find out if it will work for me before summer gets here, otherwise the wife wants to get another car.
The science is pretty complicated, but a simple concept is that cold is simply the absence of heat. We sweat to have the water evaporate off of our skin to cool us down, anytime a liquid evaporates it carry's heat energy away cooling it. A gas can condense into a liquid and stay a liquid at a higher temperature if it's compressed, so you take a refrigerant compress it allowing it to become liquid at room temperature and then reduce it's pressure in the evaporator coil where it allows it to carry the heat away from the inside of the truck. The same reason the can gets cold when you are charging the system, the pressure inside the can is lowering and it's carrying the heat from the can away through the evaporation of the refrigerant. This then means that you can measure the pressure and it will tell you the temperature. Because ambient temperatures vary the pressure inside the system can change pretty dramatically, changing how much pressure is needed to cool the refrigerant. Hope this made sense, it's kind of taking a really complicated subject and condensing it down into a single paragraph.
The cheaper stuff worked what I see that red angel stuff goes for like $40 a round where I live and that other stuff was almost $7 at Walmart the cheap stuff
Stop leak taking a undeserved bashing , it’s good for what it intended . Would I use on a newish vehicle still under warranty? Of course not . On an older vehicle that you are looking to keep away from a high repair bill , give it a shot , it does work on some leaks .
In the long run the entire ac system will be trashed..stop leak will crystallize the compressor, and every thing...much better off finding the leak, and replacing 0 rings..
Hi there , Joey’s I use I’d Q sealing April 7-2021 and today September 17-2021 my A/C from my minivan Ford Freestar 2007 still running and cooling great 👍 Yes it is a great 👍 product.🙋♂️👏👍
Hey that's funny it took a month. I youtubed "how long does it take for AC stop leak to work. I didn't your video for a while. That's amazing. I did use the stop leak from Walmart, it was available. I put it in Friday. Did run your AC all the time, even though it's blowing hot. Or did you leave it off. That is my concern. Will it still seal not running, or did you run the AC the whole time, hoping it would come back on?? Thank You! for your video. You gave me hope. Everybody in my crooked shop city, wants to replace my compressor. Although several youtube videos say that: if you turn your compressor manual, it's not locked and it's not the compressor. Hoping for the same results, quicker. I don't even know if I have a leak. I just figured it couldn't hurt lubricating the essential parts. Thanks Again.
@@JoeysGarage you should do more research before you post an idiotic video !! Only people that like it are people who know nothing about cars !! For one thing you already had 30 or more lbs in your system you probably only needed one more can to top up the Freon because if you would have had nothing in the system your a/c compressor would not even cycle you would have had to jump the compressor something you never explained in your video !! You probably didn’t know that !! And you should have injected some dye so you can actually see where your Freon is leaking !!
Hello.....how can i get this tools??to fix my car aircon i think it's leaking....but i want it to fix it....so if i use this tools can seal it the leaking??please can someone help me ..pleasee
You can buy the dye kit and A/C Freon with hose you need on Amazon make sure you buy the Freon your auto needs and watch a video on how to use a dye kit and recharge A/C this guy got lucky probably needed two cans of Freon he already had over 30 lbs in system . He doesn’t know what he is talking about he should of done some research before he steers a lot of people the wrong way !!
if you have 30 and the temp is 75 you should have 78.7 lbs so you need more than 35-40. Unless you are talking about with the car running? But then again the charts are for with the car off and just checking pressure........
Are you sure it won't spoil my cars ac compressor cause i have a mercedes s class ,Also i read a comment on amazon some guy bought some ac fix sealant from amazon and he wrote he had to spent 2000$ becauae it blocked his cars compressor
Greatdreams yeah cause the company says better don’t get it fixed because it takes two days to open the dashboard you never know we might be able to fix it back properly and they are the ones who told me its better to fill up the gas every two months as its stays for two months
This is total crap .. I used it and the smell was awful it would not go away ..after using it on my Nissan it smelt like a dead rat ! I had to disconnect the ac condenser it was that bad , then I ended up taking the dash of as the smell was so bad . I then removed the evaporator and now I drive with the windows open to get rid of the lingering smell. Never again 🇬🇧👎

Worked like a charm on my truck!
Where was your leak. My compressor is leaking. Will this work?

What is a good cheap recharge hose system with gauge you would suggest for DIYers?
Do you still need to use collant or dose the stop leak Safice????
I'm trying to get to understand but how long did you wait till after you put it in to actually use you ac
Nice. That pretty good for a relatively big leak.
can stop leak of evaporator core ?
I got a 2013 hyundai santa fe u think is gonna work if i put some ??? took it last week to hyundai dilard they said its a line they want 800 repair
haven't read all comments yet. 6 years later how long did it last lol?
THANK YOU JOEY .
GOD BLESS YOU
In the long run the entire ac system will be trashed..stop leak will crystallize the compressor, and every thing...much better off finding the leak, and replacing 0 rings..
How long did it end up working?
I just wonder if the combination of the two different stop leak products, two cans worth, is what it actually took to seal the system.
Not 100% sure. That’s a good thought.

After you put it on the ac system do you need to let run for any certain time ?
Did it come with that hose or do I have to buy it separately
It was bought separately. Some cans have a disposable hose and gauge. But, I like the better quality gauge, and cans alone are a bit cheaper.

Will this work on R12 system? I have the adaptor for it
No you need to buy R12 refrigerant.
yes is true worked like champion
Im Happy it sealed. Is the ac cold too?
Where was your leak?
What a bond
There is no charts
What else could go wrong adding this its broke already.
Where can I find this
Try Amazon
the pressure was 40 before you put it on, you probably didn't have ac leak
@2:32 🤣👍🏻 I know that feeling

Local auto shop. I prefer the kit with the adjusted dial for outside temperature variations with pressure. Takes the math out the problem.

jOEY, WHERE CAN I GET HOLD OF THAT A/C STOP LEAK ?
thanks
May be when you put two cans of stop leak
I'm just going to fill mine up and wait to see how long it lasts and hope i won't have to take it to a shop, thx again for the videos!!
So how long it lasted?
He died
@@bigBlackMex69 no he's still alive his car died tho
Oh
Anyways this stuff worked on my 16 GMC Sierra thanks!
Great video its was fun to watch and Educational as well.
if my country temperature 70 deg f, i don't care if i dont have ac. usually my country temp 95-104.
Thanks sirr
Thx for the video, i'm having trouble with mine. Going to give it a try
Let me know how it goes. I wasn’t too happy with the results
@@JoeysGarage wait did it not work?
@@JoeysGarage I thought you said it worked? wtf
@@greg4254 Ahahahahahahahahhhhhh.... sealant are not efficient. waste of money....
Do you have facebook page
I found a pin hole in the rubber hose wants the easy way to fix
So your system needed two cans being a larger system
How strange seeing 87k views but only 50 comments. With disabled ratings I'm assuming this video is wrong in some aspect. Cheers.
That so KOOL 🤠
Just replace the damn condenser
Does not work
Are you sure it won't spoil my cars ac compressor cause i have a mercedes s class ,Also i read a comment on amazon some guy bought some ac fix sealant from amazon and he wrote he had to spent 2000$ becauae it blocked his cars compressor
If u drive a mercedes or bmw u better be somebody can afford repairs.
If u cant get rid of that thing.
Greatdreams yeah cause the company says better don’t get it fixed because it takes two days to open the dashboard you never know we might be able to fix it back properly and they are the ones who told me its better to fill up the gas every two months as its stays for two months

I tried it but no results, should I put freon back in with the stop leak
Yeah. How often do you have to refill it? My truck is currently every year. That’s why a $5 can is more economical then a couple hundred dollar repair
Joey's Garage I'm saying I put the can in but the pressure is low should I add some freon also
Yes some Freon
No card or chart..
He’s so cute!
Thanks??
You're not trustworthy You said you never seen that brand before but your gauge is that brand that you've been using.
