  • Chef José Andrés is one of the few chefs who's known as much for his activism as he is for his food and restaurants. After apprenticing at the legendary restaurant El Bulli, he came to fame in his own right as a chef in New York City, popularizing Spanish-style tapas in North America.
José Andrés established himself as a restauranteur with his ThinkFoodGroup organization, and then went on to found World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit devoted to responding to natural disasters with food provisions.
Andrés gained yet more fame during the COVID-19 pandemic, with his efforts to keep restaurant workers employed. If you want to know more about this famed chef (and perhaps future politician), this is the untold truth of chef José Andrés.
