Parupu rasam thavira we make medicinal rasam too. Naanga two stick kanda thippili, 1 milaga vatral, zeeragam, thuvaram parupu, milagu, dhaniya little drop gheela varuthu powder ready pannuvom. Puli thaniyaga vega veithu indha powder pottu , turmeric, perungayam potu we make rasam. We do not add boiled thuvar dal. My mother used to make kandathippili sadhakuppa rasam. We finally fry karuvepilai, kadugu and season it. Finally add kothamali. One of the best rasam for cold cough. IAM Srikanth aged 43 years. Me and my wife LAKSHMI are your very big fan.

Neat! Why sambar powder instead of rasam powder? Also, if I do not want to use tomato what can I substitute with? I love rasam but without tomato is it possible? I can't eat tomato bcos of high potassium (my kidneys are a problem!). Thanks.

Melody Chest Hi. U can use lemon/ citron/ only tamarind/ Kokum/ Orange/ Gooseberry as a substitute for Tomato but the profile will differ slightly
