I can't be the only one who is thrown by seeing an enemy MattyP. It's objectively not right. I still shouted Matty! Like he was Norm from Cheers but with a tone of sadness...
Absolute heresy
notes that are helping me learn Yrel along with you:
1. charging E does not increase damage(so short hops deal full damage/slow)
2. auto attacks between abilities feels clunky but adds a lot of damage (and healing if you take that lvl 1) when you take that 16 (12:36 you missed out on 7 boosted auto attacks which would be about 2800 damage, based on what it did to the minions at 13:15)
3. E, D+Q, then E (after c/d) while spreading out autos on backline seems to be decent waveclear until lvl 16 then wave clear becomes easier
My advice would be, wave clearing with E and D+Q. Generally avoiding W usage on minions. Seraphim at lvl 20 is one of the most busted talents in the game. Armor at lvl 1 is probably always the best option. Hand of freedom is also great but not as essential as Seraphim. Seems really good in this particular match, as your teammates would appreciate movement speed to get away from Garosh or walk out of the area effects like lamb to the slaughter or Decard's stuff. And you can always speed yourself up if you teammate doesn't need it more.
Man I would like to play Yrel more, I love her design and the idea of her kit. But she really does feel like she's in the wrong role classification sometimes and a poor middle-ground between Tank and Bruiser. Either they need to tweak her to better fit the Bruiser role, which is what I'd like, or they need to switch her to Tank and adjust her abilities accordingly. Alternatively, revisit what they were trying with Varian where she can be one or the other depending on what talents she picks at a certain level.
I'd love the varian treatment, maybe even having a psuedo healing spec, with the trait heals talent + maybe a vindicate heals allies in radius
I kinda dig how Pally trolled his own team at 17:37 lol. He had his stuffed queued up waiting in the shadows so Diablo and raynor walked up and pally straight dipped 🤣

Goomba stomp build for Yrel is actually pretty good at trading in lane. The damage because of the Avenging Wrath resets is surprising. The lane clear does still kinda suck until 16 but holy wrath does work really well in this build because of the resets
5:20 her e does not scale damage with channel time, so a quick tap on the caster minion then a quickened q is pretty good at clearing. Still takes a good chunk of mana, but I find it helps.
I really feel like you should play murky as your main. Go pufferfish build. Strong jungling, no punishment for extending, strong wave clear and good team setup with Octo. Get vision egg if at level 1 if there is a stealth
Channeling E doesn't increase its damage so E+DQ is best for lane clear, Trait also removes the mana cost of the ability is enhances.

Yrel always felt like she needed some kind of Mana-Refund in her talents somewhere. Or baked into some of her abilities. Maybe a mana refund if she fully charges her abilities? Something like that. Feels like it would smooth out things a lot.
She does. Abilities cast with D are free. The issues in this game are not using E for waveclear when it's got like 100 more damage than her other abilities and using up mana and time by hardcasting Q. Later in the game waveclear gets a lot better, partially because of scaling and the cleave talent of course, but also because he starts doing the E > D > Q combo.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pulls. Yrel has great lane clear and I feel like I'm being gaslit

I believe D'ed abilities use no mana, so you just got to E then DQ the wave for efficient and relatively quick clear.
one thing to know, the hop only increases distance with charge so quick hop with it is better a lot of the time.
The Yrel we knew changed. After we left WoD, she and the other draeni started forcing maghar orcs to convert to the light. The same way the light crystal tried to force Illidan to become part of the light in Legion. Anyone who opposed was killed. The allied race Mag'har took all the remaining Orcs they could get and escaped to our Azeroth, leaving behind Durotan to close the gate. Yrel went full psychotic zealot and destroyed what was left of alternate draenor.

I agree with Pally. I've always wanted Yrel to be reworked as a tank. Especially since most tanks can wave clear better than her too. She and Maiev are two characters I love, but wish they could've been really massive health bars.
Maeiv does not need a tank Hp pool. She’s great as a melee assassin.

@@KnightCrimson97 fair enough, I’d really only consider Yrel, and maybe imperius being turned into full tanks. We have too few melee assassins to really justify turning any into tanks imo.

Yeah, as other people said pally, yrel actually has pretty alright lane clear. hand of freedom gives her great mobility and gank escaping, and the real bread and butter of her lane clear is dq into e. Her e does not gain damage by charging, just range, so you stomp on the back line minions, dq, and then the archers and mage are mostly dead. You leave your w out of it because oyu want them grouped up for the damage from e. If you take divine steed, you can even double soak with her.

Nothing. There's no animation on the Mech's taunt, only a dance animation. So it allows a player to spam taunt with no delay and flex the mastery taunt icon.

Blizzard just wanted to be consistent to Rets flavor. Can do a little of everything, but not enough to bring value. As a former WoW player it got old always having no use as a Ret paladin, and its just a flaw in blizzards logic.
I love this game and love this hero a lot.

I think you play her well and always love your vids but honestly I have to disagree. At least in my low elo (low gold high silver) whenever I play unless they have too much cc she tramples on people. Played an aram last night and had more dmg than Zera and ktz

It's a shame, she has an interesting kit and my favorite race/class WoW combo from my favorite expansion. But by 16 she can be completely ignored. The only way she helps a teamfight is if the enemy is dumb enough to target her.

As a YREL MAIN I totally disagree with your video.I have none of the problems you talk about.I have the damage to face off against other bruisers and fast wave clear with little mana issues.You NEVER use hammer for wave clear,its a waste of mana and knocks the wave out of a tight clump you want to AoE.E in then D and Q.ALWAYS cast with D when its off CD to avoid wasting even more mana.Velen's Chosen and Templar's Verdict are the superior picks.Not getting these is why you are lacking DPS.There is a reason why Yrel is the lowest win rate Bruiser,and 4th lowest win rate hero in the game.(time of post)Is why I say this as a humble Goat Paladin,with Yrel you either play her well,or play her poorly.There is no in between.

yrel should be a tank, but youre clearing lanes wrong. a fully charged jump and a traited Q is an instant clear. the regen globe gives the mana back

Isn't Yrel a bruiser because she can dish out burst damage and sustain herself with healing/defensive abilities?
Arthas could be considered a bruiser and Leoric could be considered a Tank, Blaze could also be considered a bruiser. It just fits the category because of how aggressive the playstyle is leaning towards, while maintaining "tank" qualities.
I feel like yrel is just not that god in quick match. At least not when I was playing her.

I dislike Yrel's design. She can't AA, she can't push, she's a mediocre tank at best, she can't support and that stupid charge-up gimmick her abilities have is infuriating.
MattyP on the enemy team... I don't like this multiverse.
Seeing how bad the enemy team's Butcher is playing, he needs to stream snipe to even his odds of winning.

Complaints about stream-sniping always tickle me. It's like constantly exposing your hand in poker and then complaining that people are using it against you. Can you play with a stream delay?
