Nice old Jag ; BTW that county is pronounced "Hart - ferd - sher"
I owned a slightly battered 420 in the 90`s when I worked in London & commuted the 75 miles each way daily back to Goodwood. She liked to drink a fair bit of oil each week, but I could easily get 6 adults on board for the dash down to Brighton for summer weekends by the sea.
she only let us down once in the city & we conked out to a rolling stop on Westminster bridge
The huge surprise of that day was a Red E-type coupe pulled up along side & a curly hair dude got out by the name of Roger Daltrey.. he spotted the fuel line had sprung a leak & with a bit of swearin managed to sort it for us ✌

What a stunning car. Everybody raves about E types, yes they're lovely it goes without saying, but I'd rather have a Mk10 anyday

My dad bought a 420G when I was 8yrs old. Now I am 58 and have loved Jaguar's for every hour of those 50years!
The car in this video is a fine example, great video young man!

What a fantastic car. My dad had a 1967 420, the smaller version. Sheer British class and elegance!

Why is this particular model of a car so beautiful? And the idling engine sounds just like an old airplane.

Yeah, that needs some adjusting, which is not easy on this car (3 SU carburettors I believe).

    Fantastic !!!
Thank you so much for the ride and history !
I have a ‘67 420, it’s a little bit slimmer and the bonnet opens up from the front, mine is a 4 speed with overdrive, it too is a right hand driver and still has the British plates on it.
Plate # is {EST 222} would you know much about that ?

The 420 and 420G are actually two separate models, yours is based on the MKII, this one is based on the MKX. Two different bodies.
It looks like the "ST" on your plate decodes to Inverness, but you can do more research at www.cvpg.co.uk/REG.pdf
      Thanks for watching!

Lovely old jaguar. Nice colour as well. I own a 420g in old English white with red leather. Needs work, but will get there one day.

I loved these when I was a child and kept hoping that my father would buy one rather than a Rolls-Royce. He finally bought a jaguar when he was 79 and died 6 months later.
