I heard this song in the car, for the first time, the other night. I caught the beginning, but not who sang it. I knew it had to be faith. I got goose bumps as I listened. I pumped my fists in the air at one point! Hallelujah !!!!!! Beautiful Faith. It's so great to hear an artist, these days, that shouts thier love of God out to the world.
The first time I heard this song was on her Christmas CD. I became so emotional. It touched me to my core. Beautiful song, and sung by beautiful Faith.

You're so right. Plus she sings about the shepherds and the star shines bright and how she was lost and now she's found, etc. "There's no room" (at the inn). It's the story of Mary and the baby is our Lord Jesus. And if there's still any doubt, there's the line "Choir of Angels say Glory to the Newborn King, Halleluiah" This is a beautiful song. Think about being a teenaged Mary in those times and being pregnant and not married. Of course she cried until anyone believed her.

I first saw this on CMT while I was at my desk working on a project for my friend and Country Artist Ray Scott, and I thought oh how nice... black and white and photojournalism... how great! I had just finished a video SLOW DOWN for Ray that was in this format. So I stopped what I was doing and watched a little, and WOW. Faith launched into something she hasn't put into her music since the Breathe album....

I agree with kk11kk12... this is about the birth of baby Jesus from the virgin Mary!! A baby "did change" everything without Him we would be lost... He came to this earth to die on the cross for our sins... by His stripes we are healed. Thankyou Jesus for coming and dieing for us!!

This song played following breathe of heaven from Amy Grant are so touching.... it had to be the holy spirit becuase all men have the gene of sinful nature.. a perfect baby changes everything... amen alleluia... go shout it on the mountain tell the world... this song is so powerful and needs to tell all women that God made them special in their own way not to be they way most act but to be respectful of the role God created them to be
I came across this the other day and can't get enough of it. It's gorgeous, but the video doesn't really match, with all the glamour shots of Faith, etc. I get the feeling is sort of thrown together. Still, this really gives me the chills!

lorietull is exactly right about Mary. this song was written by a minister and her husband and tim nichols.when they knew Faith was working on her new album she asked for them to hold it for her and they wanted her to record it.she has done a beautiful job. the song is about a teen girl getting pregnant,it can be what you perceive it to be,but it mostly speaks about the birth of Christ. they wrote it to help people understand what Mary could have been thinking.
Patriotsrock01, I'm glad that you had that experience. But, for some I think that a more spiritual video would bring it home. So, I guess it would be beneficial to have 2 versions. I'm just really glad that the song has had such a positive impact.

Plain and simply "theshark1025", it is, in it self simple. The true meaning of Christmas doesn't need or require creativity nor does it need to be complex. This is why, to Christians, it is a powerful song with more meaning than non-believers could understand until they themselves experience the unconditional and complete love of God. I will pray that you will be able to see through all of the complexities that are in your mind and find the simplicity and peace that only comes through Jesus.

yes,Tim Nichols and kk wiseman( a minister) and her husband craig wiseman,who wrote Tim mcgraw's song "live like you were dying", wrote this about 4 years ago and they wanted Faith to record it for her next album and so she did.

I've read some posted comments here and I find it curious viewers can take a simple, beautiful, touching song like "A Baby Changes Everything" and assign their own agenda to it. How about enjoy it for the honest emotion it elicits and leave the various political agendas for another time.

I was actually taught in my world religions class that it was an incorrect translation and that Mary was not a virgin, but a young girl. Just putting that out there.

I think it's good as a mainstream song, but doesn't sound like a Christmas song to me (esp. the first half).
